This is your best bet if your not in with the workers although you'll be lucky if they bring out and let you have anything still.
My store still had guides on the floor a few months ago when they pennied out Castlevania PoR but didn't have any on the floor when I checked last night for a GoW II LE guide (except for 3 guides for 3 newer popular games). I've never seen any of the 3 people working before and when I asked the one guy about the guide I was interested in he barely knew what I was talking about and said something like "you mean like a magazine" and told me that they don't carry them (guides) anymore for some reason he was unware of. It really didn't seem worth trying to convince this guy that they probably had guides piled up in the back in hopes that they had and would give away what I was looking for.
Thing is, I am kinda 'in' with the employees at the one GS store round here, yet I know that the reason none of them will let me have guides is because they simply don't wanna lose their job over doing something against what their DM has said. This is why I wish their

in DM would get tranferred/fired/run over by Santa's sleigh, since it's makes no sense to throw away stuff which could be simply donated or given to customers as good CS.
But, I know the agreements some stores have with publishers requires proof of the destruction of the guides and mailing in the covers or something else to prove they did so.
I'm definitely not going to risk someones job over something that I probably won't sell/trade to someone anyway, so why bother anymore?
BTW, I AM willing to do the next guide thread, as long as I can receive concise lists of what dropped and where, which I'd put in the first or second post of the new thread. I know there's alot of blather when a drop happens and admittedly maybe I'm too lazy to sift through 60-70 posts to find the entire list from each drop.
Speaking of drop info, wtfh ever happened to vahn, who was our BB guide drop info person for a couple months this year? It's like they just dropped off the face of CAG.
