Revolution Conspiracy Theroies... THE PLOT THICKENS

look at cam 1 now

Is it possible it never said "on" but rather nintend--on---inetendonintendo, scrolling in a video loop?
didn't aries say that we would initially be dissapointed at the beginning of may 19th?
You're right...both him and Brooke Burgess said that we would be underwhelmed for a time, but that when the time came, we'd be floored.

I still don't think this is over yet.

Is this work Pumbaa?

Get you ass to work...

jk

I just left for a few minutes to eat some lunch and watch some Star Trek:TNG.

Does anyone have a link to the gamespot feed of the Reggie confrence in 15 minutes?
Zip.
Zilch.
Nada.

We've got Nada 3!

:)
wait On backwards is NO....

There is NO revolution. That way development costs stay low to Nintendo and current dev houses.

They add online and Super Smash bros 3..

Its the gamecube SP with wireless online... Thats why the controller ports look the same and thats why its backwards compatible.

Well we did get confirmation that a large male was attending the Nintendo conference. That was exciting enough as is. Info on the Rev would have been overkill.

you know what I just realized is...

CAG doesnt have a revolution section up yet!!!!

OMG maybe Cheapy is in ON it....

It was fun, hopefully something still developes or at least there is some closure and we see if any at all was Nintendos doing with marketing...

I understand this is a tense time, and we all want to know what is happening, but this isnt like your trying to find out how the world is going to end, or the secret to life. Its a video game console, can you not wait a couple days or even a few months to find out?

Yes...but then speculation would die...and he would be missed...

Cheapy did say that there was a big announcement for CAG after E3.

CAG IS the Revolution! OMFG!

Good one!!

maybe its this thrusday at 12:30 during the lunch meeting CAG's are having....!!

Well, he didn't say anything, and it's over. He only briefly discussed revolution.

He wouldn't even confirm that Mario 128 is in production. Very Ghey.

I think we got owned.

When I wake up tomorrow, there may be a new revolution console. But Right now, I'm gonna go play TimeSplitters on my GCN.

Not exactly. He ended the confrence with : "Keep Hanging With Us"

It was a bunch of spin, really vague. I think Reggie is a Douche.

Buzz is one thing.
Alienating your fanbase is another.

While the idea is clever for generating buzz, if there ends up being no payoff, this could end up hurting Nintendo a bit more than it would help. People tend to not like being made fools of.

Well there is no proof that this thing was anything other than a bunch of coincidences. The Nintendo ON video has already been sourced to a guy in Spain. IGN hosts the video on their site on May 13 and then the same day, someone registers a URL to www.nintendoon.com. That site was registered on May 13 as well, around 5:00 pm (timezone?). So anyone could have registered that site and set the domain redirect to the IGN article.

EDIT: And if Nintendo had registered the domain, why use a privacy service to hide the information?

Some of the stuff that the Aries guy said seemed to come true, but he also stated that the big news would be coming today - which it obviously hasn't. The other stuff, Miyamoto with the helmet, the Nintendo HD-DVD, were photoshopped.

So this was most likely a bunch of speculation fueled by Nintendo fans rabid for a real revolution. We still don't know everything yet, but from the interview with Miyamoto on IGN, I don't know that Nintendo does either.

If nintendo actually had a hand in making this hype that is.
If nintendo actually had a hand in making this hype that is.
and that's what sucks. We might never know. Either way, Nintendo is going to get away with pissing everyone off - again.
This is all very confusing and very exciting. I personally can't wait for whenever Nintendo decides to blow its load ON us.
Revolution: The Nintendo Money Shot

My problem with the entire thing is that if Nintendo had nothing to do with it, they should have came out and said so. That way we wouldn't have gotten our hopes up and not gotten our hopes up.

Now most people are pissed at Nintendo for not coming through with anything, no matter if they were behind Nintendo On or not.

From a PR standpoint, it was good for Nintendo to get all the attention the last few days, but the dissappointment from gamers is not something that's a postive for Nintendo.

Nintendo is busy with E3. Do you think they have seriously known what is going on? Even if some lower-level Nintendo drone has been following this internet craze (which is very small, just a few messageboards really), do you think they are going to run to Reggie or Miyamoto and demand for them to take time at an E3 event to dispel some internet rumors?

The whole DemaSked thing was a smaller version of this and you notice that Nintendo never officially stated it had nothing to do with that.
you guys realize that the day isnt over and there is still tomorrow
Unless Miyamoto outright lied in his interview with IGN this afternoon, I wouldn't get your hopes up (if they were indeed up).

Oh yeah. I have to Dis agree here.

If they even acknowledged that they new of all the hype and denied it that would have caused even more hoopla... the ones that dont know of the hype would have started speculating etc.

On top of that they probably dont have time to rearrange their schedules to discount any hype that their crazy fans build anyways. (me being one of them over the last couple of days thanks Pumbaa)

Actually, just about every major Nintendo and gaming news site has published stories on the Nintendo On and the supposed conspiracy. I would think taking about a minute to dispell any rumors would be in Nintendo's best interest.

Reggie or Miyamoto could have done it in five seconds in their interviews today.

Also, it didn't neccessarily have to be those two who had to say anything. It's the Nintendo PR's job to do stuff like this.

they'd much rather ride the wave of crafted mystique they have going about the Revolution. it keeps the rest of the industry on their toes.

The system is tiny -- much smaller than PlayStation 2, Xbox or even GameCube. It also weighs less than any of the aforementioned systems and Nintendo says it's only going to get smaller and lighter with the finalized design.

Damn!!!

Nice Sig...I think that might be a possibility :)

Look guys... regardless of truth... its sparked my imagination... and thats worth a couple hours of wasted time. The Nintendo On may never EVER come to light, but it made me excited about Nintendo... and the fact that we can even THINK that Nintendo could release something like this doesn't mean we are gullible... it just means that Nintendo is the only videogame copmany willing to take a risk like that. It was fun just trying to match everything together... who knows if we will ever find the truth out... but even if we don't, we have seen the new Nintendo system.

We now have a clearer (although STILL prtty blurry) picture of what Nintendo is doing with the Revolution. Its going to be cheap, its goign to be more powerful, its going to be online, its going to be a GREAT Nintendo system with GREAT Nintendo games. Thats all there is to it. Again, its been fun... enjoy the rest of E3 and for christ sakes... check out the videos for the new AMAZING DS/GBA/GCN games. This is truly a great time to be a Nintendo fan.
