Rick Rude's wrestling topic
I'd be fairly surprised if Michaels didn't face Bret at WM next year.
I'd preorder that right now, even if it was the only damn match on the card.

Another thing for Hogan, is that he is pretty slow...but in going back and watching him 15 years ago...he's still pretty slow. So although age and injury has affected him, i don't think its not as much as it appears. His style is old school, his speed is old school, his outfit is old school. His hair is oldschool ;)

We all would... well actually I'd probably go to the bar and watch it on the big screen for free, while enjoying delicious buffalo wings.

I kind of thought Michaels would beat Hogan before tonight, but it seems as though HBK has got the best of Hogan on tv, so it only makes sense that Hogan wins at Summerslam and rides off into the sunset, at least until WM rolls around. I guess it all really depends on how up to it Hogan's body is at this point. As sadistic as it sounds, I think Hogan should wrestle Ric Flair for what would be the final match for both of them. Well, actually Flair should wrestle Sting for their final match, but Sting just isn't interested in the WWE. Likewise Hogan should wrestle Savage one last time, but Randy's real life animosity towards Hogan will probably prevent that from ever happening. So, Hogan vs Flair will have to suffice.

First reactions are always great.

Mega Dima: k
Mega Dima: huge pop
Mega Dima: as expected
Mega Dima: we want bret?
Mega Dima: boo's.. typical.. nothing special so far
Mega Dima: omg foreshadowing
Mega Dima: ING
Mega Dima: IGMASPOMAS
Mega Dima: OIMGG
Mega Dima: GUITAR RIFFS
Mega Dima: DRUM
Mega Dima: OMG
Mega Dima: HITMAN

What followed was disappointment expressed with text that would make a sailor blush.

I remember Savage promoting his rap album... I wonder how it compared to Konan's or Mysterio's albums.

Anyone hear the song. "Sex with Randy" ?
That was WCW's favorite trick, hell that's how they got Goldberg over.

As for Hogan, you have to suspend reality for a moment. If you watched Hogan as a kid, then you know that Hogan was just like a super-hero. Hogan would get the tar beat out of him, yet just when it seemed he was out, he'd storm back because all the Hulkamaniacs believed he would. That's the reason that everyone loved Hogan so much in the 80s and early 90s, and then for that same reason everyone hated him so much when he joined the nWo. Now all the people that cheered Hogan as a kid, as well as, all those who perhaps were too young or simply started watching wrestling during the nWo-era, get the chance to cheer him one more time.

That's why so many people love Hogan, that's why he gets the outrageous pops, and if you can't suspend reality for a minute and enjoy watching the Babe Ruth of wrestling, then why the hell are you watching "pro-wrestling" in the first place?
Yeah, the only WCW event I went to was a the Slamboree (I think) PPV back in 2000 or 2001. It was the PPV before the GAB. Anyways I think Goldberg fought Sting that night. When Goldberg came out, the whole arena boo'd the hell out of him. I heard no cheers at all. My friend who ordered the PPV, said that everyone was cheering though....

Here's a good question... what happened after Kane drove off with Lita in the back of the ambulance? Did they explain that last week on Raw? Seriously, what the hell are they doing to poor Kane? He should be where Jericho is, facing Cena.

I'm more interested in hearing what he has to say on his song "Be a man Hulk!"

Not sure  ...but the matt situation is what had me questioning the legitimacy of the matt vs edge situation...since the you screwed matt and various other info could have been replace0rdz

I'm still in Hart markout mode. I've never been to his site. I went to his columns, and man, is it depressing. Things from 1997 to today. The death of Brian Pillman.. commenting on his screw job.. the death of Rick Rude, Owen Hart, his retirement, a family friend, Helen (his mom), a local announcer, Curt Hennig, Miss Elizabeth, Stu (his dad), and Ray Traylor..

On a positive note, in this picture with his wife, Cinzia, I see no grey hair.

I used to read his articles, I became much more of a fan after his accident because of those articles.. unlike my mixed thoughts towards some of the the warriors stuff

My questions towards to the Matt/Edge stuff, is how much of the "you screwed matt" chants were real, vs if it was put in.

4am....i was about to go for an evening run...best time for florida summer :(... i think ill delay for a few minutes and read some of those bret articles...hopefully it doesnt bring me down :(

Woo, shiny (well not really) new avatar.. took me FOREVER to find one, I had to find an enlarged cover of Wrestling with Shadows and crop it from his pose on there and paint black all around it.

OK. Here's what i'm going to throw up on ebay. I've seperated them by PPV (five categories, WM box set not pictured) and a "misc." section. What do you guys think? One huge lot or by PPV's?

Then like.. fifty VHS tapes taped from PPV.

Awesome avatar, Scorch. And good luck on the eBay auctions.

Who's the girl with the "large funbags" in that photo with Bret? Says that the pic is from '99. Hmm...

I stopped visiting Bret's website when he stopped doing his columns. I love reading his columns. Lots of great and funny stories. However, there are some sad ones, such as the tributes to those who have died.

You all should check out the directory where that pic came from. There are a lot of great photos in there.

I love the old-school Vader. I always liked it when he came out with that helmet that shot out the steam. Great stuff...

I wonder if Bret will comment (I believe he's scheduled for some radio interviews in the near future) on what happened last night. Also, I wonder where would be the proper place for a TV return since he is not going to be at SummerSlam? Well, he could possibly make it if he cancels the VIP Q&A at that NWA festival. He's done signing autographs in the morning and could catch a flight to DC. I know, it's impossible. :)

Still, if they happen to move Bret's NWA appearance to Friday or Saturday, you know something will be up...

Kane was "arrested" for stealing the ambulance so he'll be gone for a couple of weeks.

according to amazon.com, the bret dvd isn't coming out until november 15. survivor series is usually right around that time, at the most a week prior. so, if i had control over the situation, i would let the all the rumours of bret's return die out after summerslam. then, i would somehow get shawn the wwe title. there's lot's of ways to work that out. at survivor series, shawn would defend the title against someone, triple h, cena, whomever. obviously put on a good, long match, and allow shawn to get the advantage. shawn starts the stomping, signaling the superkick, but seconds before he can kick his opponant bret's music starts playing out of nowhere, and out walks bret hart. bret walks up the ring, shawn gets distracted, then his opponant capitalizes and does their finisher on him, winning the title, which essentially means that bret "screwed" shawn at survivor series, which would even the score (sort of), and will lead to a few appearances for a few weeks for breat, which just happen to coincide with bret's dvd release.

of course, i'm just saying that because i think i saw that surivior series is in detroit this year and i would love to see it happen, but it seems like a good idea.

Last night's opening segment was pretty awesome. Just wondering if you guys made out the chants all night better than I did, because they seemed to be chanting in French later in the night... especially for the HBK segment, now I'm not sure I heard it correctly (even as amused as I was).

There was that part in his monologue where he stopped for a bit and he got a YOU fuckED UP chant for his slight stumbling... then I could swear towards the end when it really started to get too long, there was a good WRAP IT UP ASSHOLE, WRAP IT UP *clap clap* chant which had me on the floor, but maybe that's not what I heard... did I?

Dunno, but I loved the STFU chant.

- Matt Hardy and Lita, who have been spotted together in recent weeks, will both be appearing on this week's Byte This. There is nothing to suggest the two have resumed dating, but from all indications, Hardy's extreme disgust for the WWE Diva has cooled off.

work work work.. i bet the whole damn angle's a work, i bet she never cheated on him.

Oh, is that how they explained it? I was looking at some house show results, and Kane wasn't on any cards for August. I wonder if Kane is injured? Or perhaps they're just giving Kane some time off. I really hope he's thrown back into the title picture upon his return, of all the people who haven't been given a fair shot with the title that really deserve it, he's probably number one.
Dunno, but I loved the STFU chant.

and I bet the Bret Hart screwjob is all a work too... ok Saxon, er Scorch.

If that is the case then Lita and Edge deserve serious hazard pay. I'll be more than happy to take back everything I said about them too. I can't stand people who cheat for real.

Shut the fuck up before I sent you to the glue factory. It was a joke.

I hope it is a work; I'm more than happy to be worked in this day and age. It also would prove that not all angles have to be "shoots" to get over or fool smart marks.

I want wrestling to be fun again, and I rarely, if ever, gave a shit about Edge. He's had some very good matches, but not excellent (IMO, of course). Overall, he's a good hand to keep around the WWE, but still kind of a yawner.

This angle changed that, and his promo last week has been the *single* highlight of the storyline (at least in how it has played out on-air).

I still think the WWE needs to recognize the most crucial lesson from this storyline: it doesn't have to be on TV for word to get out. Remember it.

There's a lot of things WWE needs to fix. By the by, why is Edge feuding with Big Show at recent house shows? This would seem to be a very unnatural progression from his feud with Matt Hardy, although I do give them credit for actually creating what would be a new feud, as I don't think the two have ever worked together before.

I think Viscera should face Edge next though, they could battle to see who the bigger man-whore is. Despite the fact that I'm sure in reality everyone in the lockeroom (even Coach) gets more than Big Vis.
Saxon = Joke account
I tell you what...that is one thing from Gamefaqs that needs to be applied to some people here. Maybe a future topic....
I just realized that the women in Boricuas' car are totally suburban and middle-age. Awesome!
That is kind of strange. I'm not sure who it's gonna be yet, won't be the Boricuas though. Maybe Bret Hart... I haven't decided if I want to do that now, or save him for later when he actually returns.

Someone needs to convince JimmieMac to stop obsessing over kittie long enough to start a "will bret return (and when)?" vBookie thread.

In what should hardly come as a surprise, WWE.com has advised Ashley Massaro to disconnect her cell phone. The full WWE.com statement is below:

Ashley would like to thank all the fans that have attempted to call her to show their support. The response has been overwhelming. Unfortunately, there have been many fans who have mistakenly dialed wrong numbers. Out of respect for the privacy of those people who have been contacted in error by fans, Ashley has been advised to shut down her telephone number. However, Ashley would still like to remain in contact with her fans. Instead of calling, please e-mail her at [email protected]. Also, keep visiting WWE.com to get the latest on Ashley’s activities as the newest RAW Diva.

I said this in the chat last night.. figured it would happen.

If Hennig gets the next one, Hart should get the one after that. Or the Hart Foundation.
