C'mon, Guyver. I was totally expecting this out of you:

PLAYBOY!!!

I agree with you, though. I like the "Saddam" in an enormous font by her chest. Nothing like a lil' terrorism to get a man in the mood.

myke.
...they goddamn well better not be setting up Christy to wrestle, ever (much less at WM).
Please, please, please don't do Trish vs. Christy. Do a mixed tag with Kane and Snitsky, fine. Just don't do a singles match. Please.
They should have never released Gail and Nidia. Although Gail had some tough times starting out, she got better. Nidia got better as well. I think Christy is cute but all she is is eye candy, nothing more. Putting her in a match is a slap in the face to the actual female wrestlers on the roster.

Sigh. Agree'd. I *NEVER* thought I'd yearn for the wrestling stylings of Gail Kim before.

myke.

If Trish was a guy, more people would notice that she's probably the best heel in wrestling

As for HHH & Batista, I think Batista will win that one. The crowd is a lot more into Batista than Orton was at this stage. Plus if one title will change hands it'll be the Raw title. I don't think JBl is going to lose at Mania. He's got Honky Tonk Man level heat now and I can see WWE milking Cena & JBL for a rematch.

I will NEVER understand the theory behind firing Gail Kim. She was beautiful, she was exotic, and she could wrestle! What about that was a bad thing?

The plan's been Orton vs. UT all along, the Kane/'UT v. Snitzky/Heidenreich was fan speculation.

The blood was nasty at first.. until it got on Edge's face and is obviously NOT blood.

Good god, that chairshot on Edge hurt ME.
What is Batista's ethnic background? Just curious.
Looked back through a few pages and saw your question, Guile. I don't think I saw the answer, so I'll answer it anyway.

Batista is Filipino/Greek.
If you didn't think that was the shittiest Raw in a long time you should have been there live.
I didn't watch it, after seeing The Hurricane come out to fight HHH, I hit the mute button and went back to reading The Wastelands (Stephen King's Dark Tower series). I didn't watch but 10 minutes of it otherwise, but I'll go back this evening to watch the street fight. I take it you didn't like it? How about some "live and in living color" elaboration on that?

myke.

It's just that the whole show gave us.....nothing. Where the hell was Randy Orton? 97.5% of the signs were there for Orton not to mention my girl wanting to lick his stomach. But really, Jericho squashes Maven....well...that was...crappy. The street fight was solid but one match doesn't make the whole show. They didn't even announce who the guy fighting Chris Masters was....and that was another squash....and the womans champ stuff....I dunno. My girl liked it but I was really really dissapointed in it.

John Waters fought Masters.

And ZL, whose going to grace the next edition of the Wrestling Topic?

I read that Providence didn't get a bonus match after TV went off the air. Was one announced in ads prior to yesterday? If so, how did the crowd react to that?

There was no bonus match. The ring was covered in blood.

I just hope that they get rid of all the lame gimmicks after Wrestlemania, cause Simon Dean and Carlito are already getting to be a snooze fest when they come out. Chris Masters also needs to go back to training in OVW some more, cause when you only got a handful of moves(including a sleeper as a finisher), you need some more training.

BTW, where the heck are the Dudley Boyz, they should've healed from their injuries by now.

I think the Dudley Boyz are absent to give their characters a rest. I don't watch a lot of Smackdown, but the last I remember of them was a horrible fued with the Undertaker and Paul Bearer. They became lame, and needed time to get fresh again. As for gimmicks, they've always been a staple of wrestling, but I don't think WWE is handling them correctly these days. There's no point in bringing them up if they just get destroyed by Kane (Dean) before gaining any momentum. Carlito had promise, but his injury, and the ineptitude of the Smackdown writers has killed his heat. The last gimmick that was remotely entertaining was DDP's guru schtick, which also gave rise to Christian as a worthy heel. I would prefer a good gimmick over another "I burn with gerneric rage" Edge or useless muscle turd like Snitsky or Masters.

I agree with taking the Dudleys off the air for a while, but it's been almost 5 months now, and the tag division on Smackdown (well.... on both shows, really) could use a boost. The Bashams aren't over as heels, though I'm not sure what could help them.

If I remember correctly, the last time the Dudleys were on were about a month after Big Show came back, and they had a mini-feud before Survivor Series. D-Von and Bubba got choke-slammed through tables while Spike ran. Storyline-wise, that's why they're gone and Spike's been hanging around Velocity.

I'm also going to make a pre-emptive strike here and beg THAT GUY to not post the Smackdown spoilers so I don't have to avoid this thread for two days. There are plenty of sources on the net for that info, it doesn't need to be here.

For some reason I want to see "Stuttering Buh-buh" again...

Although real life stuttering is not something I would make fun of, in the context of a wrestling show, seeing him get slapped in the back of the head was funny as hell.

If you're wanting floor seats, I advise you to go to the box office before 6 a.m. Because floor seats go quickly for Raw and the PPV(for some reason Smackdown can't get decent ticket sales though).

Also not going to give any spoilers for Smackdown, but the ending isn't really that shocking considering what's setup for Smackdown's main event at WM.

I can't wait for Wrestlemania 21 to arrive. Are there any reviews on it yet? I haven't seen any and it's only a week and a half away...

Update On The Rock; Claims He’s ‘Moving On’ From WWE
Filed under:

- Niel Stephens @ 1:31 pm EST

Thanks to Michael LeBlanc for the following recap of The Rock on Regis & Kelly:

Right after Kelly asked, “Is the Rock tanner than normal?”, a female audience member shouted, “And finer,” to which he smiled.

Regis asked him which is tougher to crack (to “make it” in), acting or wrestling? He said that both are tough, but acting was tougher to “make it” in.

When Regis asked if he was done with wrestling, or appearing every now and then, he said he’s done contractually with WWE, but he had a great career with them and is moving on.

They talked about his tattoos and how they reflect his personal history.

Regis asked about his being Samoan, and how all the men are big guys. The Rock replied, “They are all big, and sometimes the women are bigger.”

They talked about when Rock got “punked” by Aston Kutcher.

His role in Be Cool was written specifically for him. He mentioned that he had very positive gay influences throughout his life.

It was a great, laid-back appearance by the Rock!

Not yet, but I rec'd an email from GS yesterday pushing the release back one week, until 3/28, the week spring break ends. lame.

Oh boy! My Smackdown has been pre-empted by Big South basketball! Watching Charleston Southern and High Point play is much better than wrestling!

At least they said they'll show it Saturday at 8pm.

That sucks, I've only had that happen once before and I was pissed. Small college basketball isn't what I'd want to watch.

Ha, man, you gotta love Bradshaw as the Evil Republican. His crazy, ranting anti-Cena (which is a polite way to put it, really) promo was hilarious this week on Smackdown. That was almost as good as that promo he made back in the Eddie feud days... the week he got fired because of the whole Nazi salute thing, and he ripped on Sean Penn and the "liberal media." I have to give that credit for doing such great promo work, even if his title reign is probably way too long as this point.

I suppose it almost gives them enough leverage to do the Evil Liberal Arabs on RAW, I suppose. Admittedly, Hassan's pretty decent on the stick as well, even if he is using the tired, cheap, anti-American gimmick.

4 weeks bud, it was pushed back. Actually, it never had an 'official' date, but the 28th is now the official date.

But I found this..

THQ's WWE Wrestlemania 21 for the X-Box which ships on March 28th was reviewed in this months edition of XBM a UK magizine. Overall they rated the game as an 81%.

I love how there's reviews out when there's not even a final build out.

Time to get themes for CAW's. If you need a theme, feel free to IM me.

I wonder what the grappling system is like?

Complete ass from the looks of the videos, but just like Raw 2, i'm not having high expectations. I enjoy Raw 2. I'm sure i'll love Wrestlemania.

Man, I forgot about that; truth be told, that was said long before he developed such a persona for his in-ring character. It seems to me that the Bradshaw you described is 100% him. He's married to a Fox News commentator (I dare not call *any* of them anchors due to their blatant lack of objectivity) for cryin' out loud. It's a SHOOT!!! (Okay, a bit eggagerated, but true nontheless).

I usually accept that wrestling fans are ignorant hicks; don't take offense, if you've been to a wrestling show, you know the general demographic I'm talking about. Don't get defensive if you know it's true (statistically, it *is* true, actually). For further consideration, think of Benoit vs. Hassan from Monday this week; an Arab (not really) by way of Detroit and a Canadian; the crowd chants "USA! USA!" to show their hatred for the guy from Detroit, and support for the Canadian. In many cases (La Resistance being one refuting example, "USA!" means "GO WHITE PERSON!"

With that in mind, I thought the JBL character, when he feuded with Eddie Guerrero, was going to be the biggest babyface in all of WWE history. How could ignorant hicks in the bible belt boo a man whose character is that of a staungh Republican who wants to kick Hispanics out of the country? Somewhere between JBL's ability to be hated and Eddie Guerrero's ability to be loved, something magical happened, and JBL remains hated to this day.

myke.
...totally missed SmackDown last night for a tattoo appointment and sushi. Mmm, glorious sushi. What's sad is that I didn't even realize (throughout the day) that I was missing SD until 9PM.

Finally the Horse has trotted back into his topic!

Seems I missed a ton of crap too eh... literally.

Well to re-cap, my dumbass roommate didn't pay the cable bill on time, so no Raw for me this week. Aside from HBk vs Edge it looks like I didn't miss much.

Naturally I don't watch SD! anyway, because as long as JBL is champion and they don't have much talent, well it remains worthless to me.

I love the whole Orton-Taker thing, I mean seriously, I don't think Vince could've come up with a better pairing that will be unbeneficial to both wrestlers, especially the one that loses. I'm secretly hoping one of them gets an injury that keeps them out of WM, so this match doesn't happen. Otherwise, for the sake of the streak, Taker must win. Why Orton isn't in the Jericho match is beyond me...

Speaking of which, what'll that be? Jericho, Benoit, Hassan, Edge, Kane and Christian? Winner gets a title shot at Backlash? That'd make the most sense to me. Then we'll have another bout of Snitsky and Benjamin for the IC strap on the side.

Hey, maybe this WM will have no tag title matches  good job setting up any sort of decent feud going into WM for those straps Vince.

Is it just me or is that the final straw, and it's time to just eliminate the tag division from one show, and have the tag belts be exclusive to either Raw or SD, since the tag division has never been this pathetic.

Alright, that'll be enough Horse ramblings for now.

Put that on letterhead, print that out, and send it to Stamford. Who knows, maybe someone will read it and think it makes sense!

myke.
...well, maybe not at the WWE.

I know I'm not alone on the tag issue or the Taker/Orton issue. The tag division is more serious, but the Taker/Orton match up is pretty bad too. Why not toss someone like Eddie Guerrero at Taker? No... wait let's put Eddie in a tag team with Rey Mysterio... yes it all makes sense now. Sometimes I just can't follow Vince's line of thought.

Oh, and my picks as of now see Bradshaw losing to Cena and HHH retaining his title over Batista, via ... yes it sounds stupid, but Randy Orton's interference. Setting up Orton vs Batista at Backlash and then the winner of the 6 man match vs HHH for the title. At least that's how this horse would script it...
