Also, what are viridian packs? How are they different from the regular release or thinpaks?
Single-disc Viridian releases are packaged just like the original singles, only with a small "Viridian Collection" logo on the cover. That's about it.

Ive added some stuff to my cart but something doesnt seem to be working. I have 25 items all from the list. I did buy two of something, (one for me , one for cousin). DOES IT NOT ALLOW DOUBLES?

You can't purchase doubles with this deal. That is so that it is fair and you don't have people (resellers) buying 25 of one title.

I figured I'd help all you guys out and create Kirin's list of MUST-BUY shows in this sale:

Ah! My Goddess Season 2
Air
Cowboy Bebop Remix
Fruits Basket
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid
Fushigi Yuugi
Gungrave
Jubei-chan 2
Last Exile
Le Chevalier D'Eon
Samurai 7
School Rumble
Witchblade
X TV
xxxHOLiC

If they had all the discs available, I'd also suggest Beck, Gankutsuou, Welcome to the NHK, and R.O.D The TV. Actually, pick up R.O.D The TV anyways, because it's probably one of the best things you'll ever see.
Really? Can you show me this magical place? I could give you a list of examples to be mean and laugh, but how about starting with R.O.D. Find me volumes 2-7 for under $4 apiece, please :p.

Any chance you could get them for me? At $3 a pop, i'd definitely be willing to pay you for them + shipping + "under-the-table" fee ;).

I got the vol. 1 + artbox, but you wouldn't know that since i continue to ignore people when they ask what i got ;).
I don't want R.O.D. TV. I've seen it, and it's not good compared to OAV.

Things I would want from this sale are Burst Angel ($4-$5), Ergo Proxy ($5), GetBackers ($4), Kodocha ($5), Le Chevalier D'Eon ($5, except vol 2 artbox), Maburaho ($5), Mushishi ($5 except artbox), Samurai 7 ($4-$5), Ultra Maniac ($5 cept box set).

The only ones I'd consider buying being over $5 are Trigun Remix, xxxHolic, and This Ugly Yet Beautiful World.

Already bought a lot of these titles a year ago for the same $5 price, thus why I think the 10 for $50 is not a "sale". (Already have Mini-goddess, Ah My Goddess S2, Air Gear, Basilisk, Detective Conan S1 & S2, Cowboy Bebop Remix, Coyote Ragtime Show, etc etc with mostly the $5 prices a year ago).

I had to stop reading here and have a good laugh... :D

But seriously, dude, shut the fuck up if you're not going to participate in this sale. We're *aware* that some titles aren't a deal at 10/$50. There are plenty that still are. Move on.

I'd agree with those other than Gankutsuou and R.O.D the TV, and I'll add in Mai-Hime, Mai-Otome, Gunslinger Girl, Fumoffu!, Mushishi, Popotan, Strawberry Marshmallow, and Stellvia.

Ok, ok, everyone be nice now.

The fact that TRSI's bargain bin price-slashing recently does take some of the buzz out of the sale- but it doesn't change the fact that for a lot of these series, this is the cheapest they've been for a very long time (or ever.) Not to mention that, in some cases, getting a good price on these singles is better than the similarly-priced re-release boxes (for example, it's a great chance to avoid some of the nasty stack-packs that are out now.) Let those of us who want to enjoy the sale do so.

And Razzuel? He means $230 off of the original MSRP, not the current bargain bin pricing. TRSI lists that amount on the bottom of every order. Plus, punisher can do whatever he wants with his order- the 1 per order restriction makes it pretty damn hard to hoard anything, so it's not like he's hurting anyone's chances to get the shows.

Anyhoo- between 2 orders I got:
My Otome 1-7 w/box
Fafner 1-7 w/box
Trigun Remix 1-6
Innocent Venus 1-3 w/box
Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok 1-7 w/bow
Venus Versus Virus 1-3 w/box
Origin: Spirits of the Past
Pucchu hat

That's on top of the Ranma season 3, Astroboy Ultra set 2, and Kaze no Stigma part 1 from Deep Discount. And the Wii last weekend. And the World Tour 360 guitar yesterday. My wallet is pissed at me right now...

Are you sure he meant 230 dollars off the MSRP. For example, my order came to a total of 182 dollars, but because of the sale I got it for 100 dollars; that means I saved 82 dollars. I thought he was implying that he saved 230 dollars by using the coupon code, which seemed ridiculous. If he is talking about the MSRP, then that is a little weird because I don't see any reason why anyone would be thinking in terms of the MSRP when the whole point of the sale is that you get 25 items for 100 dollars.

I know he can do whatever he wants with his stuff, but I was just wondering if he bought all that stuff to sell it since he has been known to do that with other purchases.

I've got everything picked out for my next order:

Air the Movie
Fruits Basket v1-4
Jubei 2 v1-4
R.O.D. the TV v4-7
Trigun Remix v1-6
X TV v1-3(pack), v4-8

I was considering swapping X TV or Trigun Remix out for something different, (Witchblade? Le Chevalier?) but not sure... what do you guys think?

Stick with X TV. Both Witchblade and Chevalier are *far* better than Trigun, though, so that's a good idea. Chevalier is far more sophisticated, but I think I enjoyed Withblade more. It looks like a boobs-and-fighting show at first glance, but it had character development and charm well beyond what I was expecting. It was a very pleasant surprise, and I was hooked from the get-go.

Yeah, Witchblade was actually pretty good. I went in just expecting lots of Fanservice(Which it has) but found the story to be pretty good. I even teared up abit when it ended...

Witchblade for Trigun it is, then. Thanks. KL, you should be proud of me, haha.

(Also, post your collection soon.)

EDIT: fuck, vol. 3 of WitchBlade sold out. Hope it comes back.

Yeah Witchblade REALLY surprised alot of people. I mean I personally went into it expecting nothing but fanservice but found a really touching story and some of the best mother/daughter acting i've seen in an anime in a LONG time. It almost brought me to tears at a few points.

Also yay for everyone getting Mai-Otome. While its not as good as My-Hime I still enjoyed the show.
So...... I get the feeling there is a sale of some sort going on right now?
Nah nothing special. I wouldn't bother with it.

GO BUY SHIT NOW!

Made two 25 for $100 orders, thanks for the suggestions Kirin and also to Razzuel for reminding me about Kurau.

Also made one smaller order with the DVDs that were already $4 (Putting more than 25 items in an order ended up wanting to discount the $4 items instead of the more expensive ones), 3 of the NGE CDs, and the Dokkoida!? box set.

Here's what I ordered:

Le Chevalier D'Eon DVDs 1-6 + artbox
Read or Die (R.O.D.) TV DVDs 2-7 (Ordered a like new DVD 1 off Amazon marketplace)
Samurai 7 DVDs 1-7 including the two LEs
X TV Series DVDs 3-Pack (Discs 1-3) and DVDs 4-8
xxxHOLiC DVDs 1-6
Ai Yori Aoshi DVD/CD Combo Box Pack
Ai Yori Aoshi DVD 2-5
Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi DVDs 1-3
Evangelion, Neon Genesis CD Soundtracks 1-3
Evangelion, Neon Genesis CD Soundtrack: Refrain of Evangelion
Evangelion, Neon Genesis CD Soundtrack: The Day of Second Impact
Fushigi Yugi DVD 1-8
Kurau: Phantom Memory DVDs 1-6
Yoko Ishida Live in Concert SE DVD
Dokkoida!? DVD Box Set

Ah! My Goddess is one of my favorites so I can recommend that for anyone looking to add to their order. Enjoyed it quite a bit that I decided to mod my arcade stick with art of Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld/Banpei-kun, haha.
I stand corrected! You'd better buy that ASAP, though - there's no guarantee it'll ever be restocked.
Aww, but I have already spent so much stupid money.

I'll make sure to keep an eye on it, so if it does get dangerously low, then I will make sure to grab it.
Are you sure he meant 230 dollars off the MSRP. I'm sure- adding up the current prices for the stuff on my 25 order puts it at $190, meaning I saved $90... however, the lil' line at the end of my order confrimation where the coupon discount is shown says I saved $189.98. Obviously, TRSI is basing that on the MRSP price still listed for each item- it's to show you what a great bargain it is compared to Best Buy or Amazon or what-have-you. It's also pretty innaccurate for actual savings most of the time.
I stand corrected! You'd better buy that ASAP, though - there's no guarantee it'll ever be restocked.
You're making me panic, only 24 left as i write this, but i can't. I've spent too much. Will you be quiet please? :p
You're making me panic, only 24 left as i write this, but i can't. I've spent too much. Will you be quiet please? :p
Well, honestly, you should panic a bit- as stated eariler, vol. 6 of Pumpkin Scissors, Red Garden, and Welcome to the NHK were made in very limited quantites (originally Funi was going to skip them and just do the half boxsets, but fans complained so they made a few available through a small handful of online shops.)

Best to get it while you know you can. (only 2 Amazon sellers have it as of now, and they want $40 each.)

Perfect timing on this sale as I used the money I got for my birthday to pick up the entire Trigun series, as well as a ton of missing volumes for some shows I picked up cheap at Big Lots. Wanted Cowboy Bebop, but passed since vol. 5 sold out.

I recently started to like anime so I figured why not start my own anime collection. I just hope it doesn't get out of hand like I've heard it can.

Bwhahahaha! Your descent into hell has just begun!

You will become addicted. Fact.

Just ask me, the_punisher, or Razzuel. We all started collecting recently and are now spending uncontrollably. xD

I still haven't placed my second order yet because every time I was going to, one of the volumes would go out of stock. I think I might end up getting Ah! My Goddess 2, even though I haven't seen the first season yet. One of my old anime buddies was a huge fan of that series, and the main character is a college engineering student like me, haha, so bonus points for that.

E-yep... it only goes downhill from here.

Yeah... See, this time last year, I actually had a small anime colelction that fit into my DVD rack. Then I just happened to click on the Right Stuf ad and... BAM. Over night, I ordered like $130 worth of (mostly bargain bin) stuff and I ran out of room. And the DVD forum doesn't help much. They alerted me to the Best buy sale... pretty sure I spent another $100 there. Then I found out about Big Lots having anime and I pick up stuff stuff when I'm there... Then there is the Amazon sales... And this is from a guy who controls his anime purchases!

So scuba t, you're options are stay with us and learn to run out of space and money... Or run.. far away. But we'll find you. Well, Kirin will... And he'll make you watch Utena until your eyes bleed.

Yeah, in just one year, i've gotten more anime than i ever dreamed of. In fact, i barely knew what it was a year ago. In fact, i'm pretty sure i remember comparing FullMetal Alchemist to Pokemon.

I guess that's the general public's first reaction, which, now that i really know anime, is a shame.

Actually FMA was the first anime I watched completely. It's kinda of funny because I'm well aware I could have watched every one I ordered on Animecrazy etc. but I still ordered them

I wouldn't say "out of hand", but it can expand quickly. That's the effect of sales like this, the 50% off sale at Best Buy back in March & cheap, $3 DVDs at Big Lots. I started out the year with a couple of DBZ box sets and some assorted DVDs. Now, after what I said above, my collection is four times as big.

Did anybody pick up the Cutie Honey live-action movie? It's surprisingly entertaining.

A little help please?

I have:

Red Garden
Le Chavalier
Kurau

I can only choose two of the three to fill out an order of 25. Any suggestions as to which two series I should take?

Set in stones are: Basilisk 1-6, Utawarerumono 1-6, and Fafner #3, so that's 13/25.

I can only choose two of the three to fill out an order of 25. Any suggestions as to which two series I should take?

Skip Red Garden- nothing against the show, but you'll be hard-pressed to get the last DVD for a good price. You'd be better off just picking up the boxset later on.

Set in stones are: Basilisk 1-6, Utawarerumono 1-6, and Fafner #3, so that's 13/25.
Kurau!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and Utawarerumono is fucking awesome; good choice.

Thanks, I must've overlooked the fact that #6 is missing.

So if the options change to...

Solty Rei 1-6
Le Chavalier 1-6
Kurau 1-6
Coyote Ragtime + FUMOFFU (6 total)

What's your opinions on the best 12 discs? I can only do one set of 25 this time, so I need to get it right. Last time I made serious mistakes (Bast of Syndrome ugh).
