Finally beat green grass and high tides on expert guitar! God damn my arms hurt...
The cars album charts don't look that engaging and Im not really a cars fan so I'll probably skip it.

Anyone know if a better drum kit is out? I have the QM model which I believe was considered the "best" last time I checked.
damn you get like every single area of the case and cd signed how youd pull that off?!
Charity auction.

My Best Friends Girlfriend is a bitch on Expert guitar. You think you've got it all wrapped up and those quick rolling notes come in.

Now if only they could get Type O Negative's My Girlfriend's Girlfriend, we'd have a theme going.

I felt like the 2 songs I picked up (Friend's Girlfriend and Just What I Needed) were a little slow, but then I kicked up the difficulty, and they sped up considerably.
Hey I just got this special little gift I thought I would share with the forums. I am not sure if anyone would care, but what the hell makes me feel better I guess.

(pics pics pics)
You should send that in to Microsoft for repairs and see what happens.

...

heh, I figure the window for that joke has officially passed, but why not.
Now if only they could get Type O Negative's My Girlfriend's Girlfriend, we'd have a theme going.
Now yer talkin'.

"In our meat triangle...all tangled - W-HOWWW"
oh man some Type O in Rock Band would be amazing. I wanna play "We Hate Everyone."
I'd love to see how the arbitrarily censor the lyrics...we'd probably get to keep "shit" but they'd take out "nazi" or something.

An Ode To Locksmiths is probably #1 on my dream DLC list.
I'm sort of torn on my Drumsoft pads. I got the Gum Rubber Composites for my QM and after using the sock mod for so long, it felt exactly like I was using the stock set, which was jarring. I tried a number of things and right now I've got 2 rubber bands on each pad in a + pattern to help with the sensitivity. It's not perfect yet, I'm still getting a lot of random drops on simple 4/4 beats, so I need to tweak it a lot.

They do give much greater rebound and are a lot quieter, as advertised, but be prepared to do a lot of experimenting to get them to a playable state. Then again, that can also be said for the drums right out of the box.
I just got my 1/16" Drumsoft pads last night and I was pretty disappointed. I bought them for the sound reduction and the first thing my wife said was "I hope you didn't pay much for those". I would say that overall there was at best a 10% reduction in sound. I noticed myself that the tone of the sound was a little fuller and more pleasant and I now rarely hit the outer plastic ring, but my wife didn't notice.

I didn't have any issues with response, but I just realized I have a QM set. I didn't even bother checking before because I assumed that all launch sets were EL's.

All these reviews are making be nervous, I should get mine soon. What kind of pads did you get & how long did it take for the shipping?

I'm shocked cause I have the EL pads and I bought my drum set months later when the pads went on sale seperatly. I always asumed I had the newer QM set.
I haven't ordered them yet. ;)
Damn, hope you like them Rodimus. I heard good things about them from another forum.
I contacted them about my disatisfaction with the noise reduction and they already got back to me. They are sending me the thick pads to try out.

Hmm that's good CS. Hope those fare more positively.

Wow, didn't realize there were a few Type O Negative fans on CAG. I'm going to go see them for the second time this Sunday in Los Angeles. Been listening to them since their Bloody Kisses album. But to stay on topic, I would also love to see Type O Negative on this game, that would kick soo much ass!!!

Friend of mine grabbed Date With the Night, so I got it with some of my Target points to play, plus I'd always wanted to try those drums. I can't stand the vocals, but the drums are incredibly fun. I haven't been this excited to chase that 5th star in a while.
I contacted them about my disatisfaction with the noise reduction and they already got back to me. They are sending me the thick pads to try out.
Yeah, that would have been my first thought, since you're using 1/16" of material when I've got 2 1/8" layers on mine. to my ears, I'm probably hearing a 50% decrease in sound with these, overall. Like yours, the biggest improvement is in the tone; the harsh clacking is almost totally gone, though the thudding/tapping is only reduced. Glad to hear they're giving you a thicker pair to try, I was always a bit curious about their customer service, since I was initially leery.

This is probably a "duh" thing but it just sort of hit me...I'm guessing next week's content will be the Disturbed songs - weren't there only two of those though? I wonder if they'll throw in a third and/or release a separate, unrelated song to go with it.
Wow, didn't realize there were a few Type O Negative fans on CAG.
That would be my favorite band for the last 10 years or so.

It's odd because I'm not a huge Black Sabbath fan, and I'm not a huge Beatles fan...but the group I generally acknowledge as my favorite band is one that has basically admitted they just rip off those two acts and mix them up.

I can't rank the Type O albums, but I would say that Bloody Kisses is NOT my favorite. Still love it though.

I know exactly what you mean - my favorite band (Pearl Jam) cites Neil Young, The Ramones and The Who as the bands who influenced them and that they generally rip off and I don't like Neil Young or The Ramones at all and I think The Who are just kind of sort of OK. I love me some Pearl Jam though!

:whee:

Edit: RBSH is saying they announced then quickly deleted the DLC and it was 3 Disturbed songs and 3 Jimmy Buffet songs? I think that'd call for another whee smiley.

New DLC

"Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffett (master - new original recording)
"Cheeseburger in Paradise" by Jimmy Buffett (master - new original recording)
"Volcano" by Jimmy Buffett (master - new original recording)
"Indestructible" by Disturbed (master)
"Inside the Fire" by Disturbed (master)
"Perfect Insanity" by Disturbed (master)
So these are two separate packs I'm assuming? Sure would be an odd six pack
Yup, the Disturbed songs are actually 80MSP apiece/240MSP pack, Buffetts are the usual 160/440 3-pack.

Oh cool at 240 I'll get the Disturbed songs. I gave them a quick listen and the guitar charts should be fun. Drums will probably be insane as well. The Buffett songs will be fun party songs.

Buffet? *pukes*:puke:

Well, there goes the "Rock" category.

If we're going to experience this island dickbag country music, then I can have realistic hopes of Run-DMC at some point.

I'll buy the Disturbed pack on general principle. If all tracks were 80 cents, it would ensure that the only ones I wouldn't buy are bands I hate with every fiber of my being.
New DLC

"Margaritaville" by Jimmy Buffett (master - new original recording)
I want to hear this "new original recording" before I buy this, but it seems like it'd be a hit at parties.
"Indestructible" by Disturbed (master)

"Perfect Insanity" by Disturbed (master)
Disturbed sucks

Disturbed AND Jimmy Buffet? :puke:

Whatever I did to God to deserve this, I apologize. This is perhaps the worst week of DLC ever. Oh God, words can not express how disgusted I am.

Pretty pants week for me, but I may buy a Disturbed song or two if they look fun.

Jimmy Buffet is something I would hope to never hear again in my life.

I expect it now, but the level of the vehemence with which people discuss Buffett still baffles me. He's not great... not at all. He found a niche, stuck to it, made a ton of money off of older drunk people... but he's still a poor songwriter.

That said, I don't understand why people seem to *hate* him so much. I admitted he's a terrible songwriter, but he's completely inoffensive. He's vanilla, milquetoast. I just don't get what there is to hate so much. I fail to see where the music surpasses 'indifference' and goes into 'Jimmy Buffett anally violated my grandmother'.

Sorry... I've just seen this on nearly every board I go to since this was announced, and I just figured I'd throw it out there.

Milquetoast and offensive are by no means mutually exclusive.

Personally I just think it sucks and don't want to hear it, -ever-, but I can see how it is annoying, especially to people who have been forced to listen to it against their will.

I've noticed this as well, except on DVDTalk where we all can't wait.

I was looking over that "cracked' track list for Rock Band a few months back... It has all been perfect. Check it out.

 • Alabama Getaway
 • Wrathchild
Nirvana:
 • Breed
 • Come As you Are
 • Lithium
 • Lounge Act
 • On a Plain
 • Polly
 • Smells Like Teen Spirit
 • Stay Away
 • Territorial Pissings
 • Something in the Way

The Rolling Stones:
 • Brown Sugar
 • (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
Behind Blue Eyes
 • Pinball Wizard
This is all that is left out of the list. Which I think is going to come out. The question is when?
