So I don't play bass much, does it show anywhere that if I gold star a bass song?
Only if you look the song up on the leaderboards, it'll show only the score there.

I'm not sure if I'll be around tonight, but feel free to shoot me an invite through the CAG Rock Band group/tag if you want to play.

Added. I probably won't be online unless I play in super late. If we do get a game going, we need to get a platinum artist in there. I want that cheesemint pleez.
Bought:
Faith No More (sale)

Les Wampes(sp?)
We Care A Lot is still one of my favorites to play - especially when the "Make Your Own Playlist" shows up in World Tour. That song is a steal for 80 points.

Manu Chao was a song I bought more for fun/humor but is actually quite fun for drums/guitar and is definitely worth the price tag on it.

I chose Manu Chao over Beetlebum as the cover just sounded awful, I may get it eventually.
This track sounded fun however. thanks.

Didn't see this posted yet: 3 Devo Coming to Rock Band!
"They [Harmonix] wanted Through Being Cool for some reason, which is kind of odd because it's all synth solos," he said, "so we re-recorded it. My brother Bob, who's our guitar player, played all my synth solos [and] synth leads as guitar leads, so it would relate to the game better, and then we recorded one of those little crazy endings [Big Bonus ending] that they put on it."
3 Devo songs and one is already confirmed to be Through Being Cool. Here's to hoping we get Whip It!
How much was it total? I'd pick up the plain ones if they were a decent price. But I'd have to wager if I'd rather spend the money on a mic stand or DLC instead :whistle2:k
With the custom Autobot graphic & shipping it was $32. A little expensive but I just got a huge pay check so I thought I'd splurge. Figured I'd spend an extra $10 and get something that looked cool.

Finally Devo's greatness will grace RB! I remember seeing an interview with one of the Rock Band guys and seeing a pic of Devo pinned up in the background, I was wondering when they'd finally release some of their music.

By the way, Devo is playing a free show at Penn's Landing in Philly in June if anyone is in the area.
I ordered one of the Drumsoft pads. I should have it in a week, I'll let you guys know how they are. I pimped mine out with the Autobot graphic so mine should look like this:

Beautiful. What's the URL?

A few that aren't too bad. Wish there was more variety though.

The Devo thing is pretty cool. I'm not a huge fan but the more variety we get the better.

*EDIT* - Check this out...this is kind of cool for Rock Band (but probably not as cool if you're Motley Crue)

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24797855/

I thought the song was decent...better than most of the other more recent Motley Crue material anyway.

I'm getting the gum rubber single layer pads since I have an EL drum set.
After waiting for more reviews/opinions of the official pads (of which I have seen more negative than positive), I've ordered the same pads as you.

Thanks for the link, dallow. Maybe I'll actually start practicing the drums again! :)

wOOOOOOOt finally beat drum tour on hard. That was pretty much the furthest stretch of my abilities, though, since I was within three beats of failing for pretty much ALL of Run to the Hills. Methinks the Animal award will remain unclaimed

Is there an easy way to play my DLC on my friends system? IIRC I can't just bring my HD over. I'd really rather not have to bring my 360 over there. I'm hoping there is some way I didn't read about. I have way more DLC that he does and it would be nice to get a bigger song list for a party.

That's a good question and I'd also like to know if there was a way. Out of all my friends I have the most/best downloadable songs and I hate unhooking then dragging my system around all the time.

Take your hard drive and sign in to Live with your profile. This will allow your content to be played on a different console.

Cool thanks. Unfortunately for us I don't think it'll work since theres no internet line in the room we're planning to set it up. We'll have to find someone with a wireless router now

Is everyone stocking up on $5 marketplace cards from Target? They're on sale for $15 and a lot of us are having success using the $10 off coupon. I got 6 cards for $5 today, myself. I'm gonna be swimming in songs!

Finally beat Run to the Hills on Expert drums, and beat the expert drum tour...wooot!!!

I can't believe I got all the way to the last chorus of the song before activating overdrive.
I totally nailed the guitar solo section and came out in the green. What a rush.

Amazing what a replacement drumset will do. Too bad I got an EL set again, GRRR.

Wow. I...have to do this....
Wow. I...have to do this....
good luck getting a nice cashier
i tried twice and both times i was shot down
if only they didnt have to override otherwise the 2nd time i wouldve gotten $5 points cards

I bought "My Best Friend's Girl" but decided not to get the whole Cars album because the other previews didn't really grab me. I feel a little bad not getting the whole group for a discount, but I'm not sure the other songs would be played much.

He gets it up crazy early (thats what she said)

Its the best way to preview the guitar tracks. Theres a couple other people who do the drums/bass as well.

Ya, he's been doing some of those bass ones later in the week too, and he started doing combo ones with both at the same time, but I think he said he was going to stop because they just weren't that popular.

I never really look at the leaderboards but I was stoked to see when I was in the top 100 for Hysteria on bass. Only #90 but I will attack it later and hopefully get higher.

sorry if this is covered elsewhere in the 222 pages of this thread, but i couldn't read all of that. i've got a couple compatibility questions so that i know what i need to buy instead of the bundle.

do both GH2 and GH3 guitars work with RB?
do any USB microphones for pc work with RB? no complaints for additional drivers/software, etc - just plug and play?
are there any suggested components that work better than others?
should i just buy the bundle or buy components separately?

the reason why i'm asking is b/c i already have GH2/3 and, therefore, 2 guitars, and USB mics for pc should be fairly cheap.

On the 360, yes.

Yes.

Depends on what you like. Most people seem to be fine with GH guitars. The Rock Band mic is preferable to your XBox Live Headset and lower-end USB mics.

The last two are up to you. You get more for your money with the bundle but it sounds like you only really want/need the drums.

I just got the box from EA to return my RockBand guitar. The instructions say to just drop in the guitar, but by doing that I can hear the guitar moving around and banging against the box. Is that okay? The instruction sheet says "No packaging material is required when shipping the guitar back to us". Also, should I send them the batteries, the strap, and the adaptor? It doesn't say anything in the instructions. What did you guys return? This is a PS3 guitar that I am returning.

I sent everything back whenever I return my guitar and don't worry about the packing. Though don't know if it's like RedOctane where I send my Les Paul's back but I always keep the stickers, straps and batteries and they send me entirely new stickers, straps, and batteries with it.
Wow, the Cars album is awesome mad fun!
man, totally agreed. they're catchy to listen to and a decent challenge on Guitar with all the hammer-ons and pull-offs. the solos are pretty sweet too.

I got the TAC GH/RB adapter.

Can finally use other guitars with RB (ps3), my friends will be pleased, and I can finally try bass when I'm tired from drums.

I highly recommend getting the whole Cars album, especially with the discounted points floating around. It's really great for rock band, all of the songs are fun, perfect way to get a party going. Doesn't matter if people know the songs or like that genre or whatever, they will have fun with these songs, guaranteed.

Man I still have a rush from beating RttH expert drums.

Yeah The Cars album is awesome (from anexpert drums perspective and the music itself is awesome too) . I have heard all these songs before, never had the album though. Might even download the album from Amazon.

Oh and Run to the Hills is murder. That is the only song keeping me from completing expert drums career. Yeah maybe I need a new set, I am using 3 socks because my red, yellow, and green pad have gone to shit sensitivity wise.

I found that, in addition to getting a new kit, the other thing that helped me pass RttH was putting on headphones. For some reason when I can't hear the sticks hitting the pads I play a lot better (though I also hit them harder...and woke everyone up in the house LOL).

Haha. Yeah I'll probably send for a new set soon. Yeah those sticks are loud! when I play Run to the Hills as well.

Maybe I'll try the headphones thing too.

You guys need to go do this. It worked for me today but I only got 2...but totally worth it.

None of the charts from the cars album grab my attention.

RTTH on expert drums is murder. You need blazing speed just keep up with the song. If I try I can get past the intro, but that doesn't mean much.

Hey I just got this special little gift I thought I would share with the forums. I am not sure if anyone would care, but what the hell makes me feel better I guess.
