Honestly, I'm respecting people's taste in music when I say this, but many of the songs people would consider good candidates for Rock Band are terrible.

For example, I like Rammstein, but I have no expectation that they would ever get into the game, and if they did get into a game I would rather it be GH. The drum and bass lines parts of the majority of their songs are awfully repetitive. Plus, they couldn't ask people to sing in German. Well they did ask you to do the female parts in Gimmer Shelter.

Portal song was good. Don't forget the fact there was not much to that song anyway.

I think end all, be all (in my opinion) for Rock Band in terms of DLC band would be Guns N Roses simply because when they first showed the video demo of people performing they were playing goddamn Welcome to the Jungle. That and Paradise City would be fucking amazing beyond comprehension.

Civil War and November Rain would be God-Sends to the RB community.. I am not holding my breathe though.

Got the Portal song earlier, though I won't have time to try it tonight.

I was hoping the SOAD songs listed on the Wiki were true...and that they were just going to show up quietly on the Marketplace.
good taste in music, no matter what anyone ever says.
Ah yes, the old standby of someone who is insecure about the music they listen to - they go on the offensive for something that doesn't require it in the least.

Really? My first thought for both songs are that they are piano driven... kick ass solos though...
Talking about Bad Religion, I need them on Rock Band. I don't wanted "Infected." I want all of No Control. I want most of The Process of Belief. I want the first half of The Empire Strikes First. I want "American Jesus," and several songs from The Gray Race.
You forgot the one - Against the Grain. I think they should just do a larger than normal pack for BR, simply because the songs are so short. Maybe 4 or 5 songs for the normal price (or do those three longer but great songs I listed 50 pages ago).

Yeah, that first video got me hyped for GnR. Paradise City, is a good choice.

The earlier the better.

November rain? This is Rock Band not piano hero. Eh, it could be a good song if it was charted correctly.
Need more progressive metal. Coheed and Cambria is an ok start, but we need a lot more.
Is Coheed and Cambria the modern definition of progressive metal? When I think of progressive metal, I think of Devin Townsend, Dream Theater, and Tool. Is that what today's youth feels qualifies as progressive metal? Coheed and Cambria?

*waits for keyboard peripheral*
K.M.F.D.M. would be great, no keyboard peripheral needed.
The guitarwork in some of their songs is pretty damn good. But the band is nowhere near known enough to ever be featured. Ministry will be featured before KMFDM ever is. Shit, Hanson probably would.

I disagree. There are some bands that have had DLC that are lesser known than KMFDM.

Yeah, but sure would add to great overall feel. Though it would be better if someone can do background singer so someone can take the role of Lucia.

I want to argue with that, but sadly I know it's true... The day mmbop is in the game is the day I kill someone out of anger.

But I guess they are more prog rock than metal though.

I'd also love to see some Holy Diver in Rockband. GH rocks the 80s was my favorite GH.

I didn't forget Against the Grain. In fact, I was considering including that in my post. As great as it is, I'm not sure how well it would fit in Rock Band compared to the other albums I mentioned. Possibly "Blenderhead," "Get Off," and "21st Century Digital Boy." Those I could see in Rock Band, but not much else from that album.
If that happens I DEMAND K.M.F.D.M.
I second that demand. Megalomaniac & Anarchy would be fun. I could rattle off tons of other songs. I got to see them in New Orleans a while back and it was a great show.

If they would ever add in a keyboard peripheral, they'd need to add some Front 242 and Front Line Assembly as well. I doubt we'll see that periph, but lots of fun songs could be added with it.

*sigh* I'm never going to finish the Expert Guitar Solo Tour. I can't do ANY of the last 5 songs in the last tier. I get to about 75% on most of them and fail. I 4 or 5 starred every other song in the game (mostly 5 stars) but I can't even finish these last few songs. So frustrating!!!

I also DEMAND that "15 Step" be added as DLC. It has insane drums, bass and guitar. The vocals are pretty good too.

Keep trying, javeryh. It's definitely frustrating, but I said the same thing at first, and now I have everything except Green Grass beaten. I'm even making my way through that one slowly but surely--I can get to about 89% now.

There is a distinction between progressive metal (DT, Ayreon, Townsend, Tool, Queensryche) and progressive rock (Rush, Kansas, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree). C&C definitely falls under the progressive banner, more on the rock side than metal.

My #1 want for Rock Band is a full album... specifically Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime. Anything Dream Theater is welcome as well.

You're doing better than I am. I've been struggling my way through Hard Guitar Solo Tour, 3 & 4 starring most songs, then I hit Suffragette City... Talk about a brick wall. I think the farthest I've made it in that is about 30%.

On a side note, I'm still kinda pissed that there's no Bass Solo Tour. I mean, I know a lot of the bass tracks are repetitive, but so are some guitar tracks. Plus, as it turns out, I've been playing like a bass player since GH1, upstrumming my way to glory.

I'm in the same boat. About 75% through all 5 of them but always end up failing.

Funny... I said the same thing two nights ago. So last night I just kept practicing the parts I fail (usually the solos when it goes green, red, blue, green, red, blue at a ridiculous pace). I wound up beating 4 out of the 5 songs I struggled with. I still have GG&HT left, but first time I failed I got like 30% of the song done. I'm up to 80% and hopefully will beat it eventually. It is frustrating playing 3-4 minutes of a song just to fail at the very end.

Keep practicing and you'll eventually make it through. Just remember to save up a full overdrive for the parts you fail and wait until right before you fail to use them.

I've only heard a handful of Coheed * Cambria songs, but from what I've heard they don't sound progressive at all to me. How do you define progressive and how do they fit in?

Dream Theater would be an amazing addition to the game. Also, Sonata Arctica and Nightwish.

I would love to get Nightwish's "Crownless" on there.

I am also stuck on "Green Grass and High Tides" on Expert guitar. I have gotten up to 84%. Ridiculous solo.

If you're using the Rock Band guitar, use the solo buttons and tap the hard parts (everyone knows what ones I'm talking about)

Its ridiculously easy once you learn how to do that. The way I did it was I alternated the green and red with my left hand and tapped the yellow one with my right hand. Once you get the green and red down all you need to do is concentrate on hitting the yellow one.

I grabbed Still Alive last night and played it a gazillion times, one amazing, FREE song is fine in my book, and --

Look at me, still talking when there's science to do!

I think they are probably more progressive rock. If you listen to an entire album, they are progressive.

Listen to a whole album. Like most progressive bands (except tool) their progressive sounding songs never make it to the radio.

Being that Dream Theater is my all-time favorite band, it warms my heart to see that there are others on here that also think they are the most needed on Rock Band. They have countless songs that would fit in perfectly for this game, and be extremely difficult.

Nightwish is also one of my favorites, would love to see some songs from the new album.

I would guess that nightwish has a higher chance, since they seem to be desperate for lots of female vocalist metal bands. But I bet we won't see them until the Euro version gets traction.

I hate quitters. Especially this guy. His gamertag is Spartan2434 and I was playing expert drums score duel with him.

First time we played it was Say it Ain't So and it was a really close match so close in fact that theres no way in hell he won but some how he got more points. Oh well.

Second song was Epic by Faith No More and he quit during the middle of the song. I was confused because he was winning. So because quitters are stupid I did the submit player review so that he would become an avoided player (just a note so I don't sound like an asshole I made sure to see if he was online and went to play another score duel just in case he didn't get disconnected for reasons he couldn't control).

I went to play another match and this guy shows up again. I thought oh well hopefully he won't quit again. The song was Train Kept' Rolling (or however its spelled) and near the end of the song he quits again, but I was losing anyway.

I send him a message just containing "jerk" and then went on to play more matches.

Well the guy messages me back and says, "Don't blame me, I thought everyone would just destroy me. Guess I was wrong."

So he was quitting because I wasn't awesome enough for him which is stupid. So this guy can go shove the drums up his ass and dance around with his other quitter friends.

I see that a lot of you are stuck on the last tier in guitar on Expert...

Just stick with it guys. Keep playing the songs you can beat but maybe can't 5 star. Eventually you'll go back to that last tier and be like, "WTF?! How on Earth did I ever find this sh!t hard?!"

I have been playing on expert since GHIII and I am now a fucking beast. I don't mean to brag or anything, but if you just keep on keepin' on you'll be melting faces and wowing all your friends in no time.

I finally beat Run To The Hills on Expert Drums today, felt so awesome when I got to the end! That was the last song I needed to finish the Expert Solo Tour. A few months ago I didn't think I'd be able to do it, but I did! Now I'll have to go back and try to five star most of the songs, I should also go through the bonus songs and finish those.

I beg to differ. I was able to practice my way through expert on GHII, but the difficulty is much higher in all of expert in GHIII and the last set of songs in Rock Band. The problem is the solos are ridiculous and practicing them at any speed other than full speed is worthless. You get to a point where you can either play the difficult scales or you can't. At full speed there isn't enough feedback to figure out what you're doing wrong. Until there is a tutorial or review system that provides better feedback on why I'm failing, I will never get better. I can get to where I can nail 90%+ consistently on slower speeds, and then I get numbers all over the board when I practice at full speed. And it really sucks that you have to keep playing through 70% of the song to get back to the difficult part.

I started drums last night on medium and I think I'm gonna work my way up. It's hard to imagine playing on expert but I said the same thing about guitar when I got GHII.
