Rock Band series - Rock Band 4 out now

Apparently a lot of that was in Country Track Pack 2, which I didn't know initially, and these are "Rock Band 3" versions (similar to the Queen stuff from a while back). Obviously some people are pissed since anyone who cares about country in the first place probably already bought those songs.

I noticed this as I have Country Pack 2, at first I was slightly interested until I realized I already own almost all of them.

There's a patch tomorrow, it gives us back "Black Hole Sun" & "Dani California" and lets us hide our 1-lighter songs! A couple of other tweaks as well: http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225612
Hey gang,

With a solid year of Rock Band 3 under our belts, we’ve got another small title update coming out on Tuesday November 8th for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. We’ve pulled together notes for previous updates and it has always been well received by those of you in the community, so we’re doing the same for the one coming out tomorrow.

While there are several legal and security tweaks going in (which we won’t be able to address specifically, but honestly shouldn’t alter your RB3 experience in any way), there are also a few changes to gameplay that address some requests and comments we’ve received from the community since the last update.

Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Dani California” will now be available in Rock Band 3. These were songs from the RB1 disc that were not previously available via export, but thanks to some music licensing magic you’ll be able to play these fan favorite tracks in RB3. These songs should be visible to anyone that previously imported RB1, but if you have additional questions related to export you can consult support articles here.

• We’ve corrected an issue where playing combinations of “Surfing with the Alien,” “Satch Boogie,” “The Hockey Theme” and “Caprici di Diablo” in a set list resulted in a crash.

• We’ve added an additional filter option for songs in your library. In addition to sorting by lighter rating, this new option will allow users to hide 1 Lighter rated songs that you don’t want to see in your set list, which should allow for more effective organization of the growing library of RB content.

This title update should not interfere with the regular DLC release and you’ll be prompted to accept the update when firing up Rock Band 3 on 11/8.

Thanks to everyone for supporting Rock Band 3 over the last year. It means a lot to have such a dedicated community and we’re happy to be able to respond to your feedback and suggestions by bringing back some much loved songs and improving elements of game play for a title you clearly love. Feel free to comment on the contents of the update in the main RB forum, we’ll be reading!
Wow, very unexpected and very awesome. Now, if only they'd bring back Journey's "Any Way You Want It"! I hope Harmonix is able to continue sustaining RB just based on DLC sales. I know Dance Central 2 wasn't as big of a hit as the first one, so I'm a little worried for them as a company.
Enter Sandman is still MIA, right?
Correct. Even if we got it back, it would involve more than a simple patch because it had never been exported to begin with. Black Hole Sun and Dani California were special cases because they had been sitting on everyone's hard drives, usable in other games but "blocked" from RB3.

Similarly, Spoonman and Give It Away were never included in the RB2 export file, so they can't just be patched into the game at a later point. I'm wondering if we'll ever get a deal on those or if "RB3 Versions" are the most we can hope for.

I am wondering if they had a deal where if there RB3 dlc sold so much they would let those 2 songs be unlocked for RB3, seeing as how they both had large packs come out not too long ago.

Was just coming to see why I updated. Great news. I really wish they gave us back the cover version of Paranoid too but beggars can't be choosers. Really happy to see they're still updating, thought for sure they were done.

Stevie Wonder stuff next week:

Stevie Wonder – “Superstition”
Stevie Wonder – “Higher Ground”
Stevie Wonder – “Living For the City”
Stevie Wonder – “Sir Duke” X
Stevie Wonder – “I Wish” X

Probably not interested since I'm low on points but next time I stock up I may grab one or two.

I've got country track packs 1-3, is it still worth buying the bundle "country mega pack" for 1600 Microsoft points? I don't know how many songs from the country mega pack (there's 21 in total) I've already got. Don't wanna end up like the Bon jovi dlc where it would override (and delete) the old version and just upgrade it.

Just noticed I also have both country track packs imported from when I had both game discs. So, if I buy this Country Mega Pack does anyone know if it'll delete the old versions and just make me keep the RB3 versions? Not even sure if it's worth buying the whole pack for 1600 MSP. I don't even know really how many of those 21 songs I already have..

If you imported both discs, then you should have all of these songs...just without keys and harmonies. This Country Mega Pack is just the 21 songs that were on the Country Track Pack Vol. 2 disc. I can't imagine adding keys and harmonies would be worth 1600 points, but I guess it depends how much you like the songs or how rich you are, haha.
That or no one cared to pay attention to it since really no one asked for more Nickelback.
Haha, I hear you. Sadly, I'll probably still be in for "Someday" (one of my wife's favorite songs) and "How You Remind Me" (a good song before they became monotonous as hell).

I'm out of the loop in Rock Band, unemployed, and am just playing what I've got for now, although Johnny Cash Ring of Fire and a few of those country songs sound enticing.

Do any of you ever play online? I'm on intermittently (Still working on medium keys goals) and taking my time.

Is there any good keys stuff released lately on rock band network? Any good industrial on keys besides Nine Inch Nails and Aesthetic Perfection?
I'll get the Roadrunner 2 pack. Built This City...ehh, that maybe even a bit too hokey for me.
I can kinda see what you mean, but as a keyboard player, I don't mind hokey. As long as it has a fun and interesting chart like Du Hast. There's nothing like a metal break every once in a while though on bass. ;)

Wow...more Queen. It's like they're the new Foo Fighters, lol.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii™ and PlayStation®3 system (December 6th, 2011):

• Queen – “Seven Seas of Rhye” O
• Queen – “Stone Cold Crazy” X
• Queen – “I’m in Love With My Car” O
• Queen – “You’re My Best Friend” O
• Queen – “Long Away”
• Queen – “Bicycle Race” XO
• Queen – “Don’t Stop Me Now” O
• Queen – “Radio Ga Ga” O
• Queen – “The Show Must Go On” O

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system December 7th)

The tracks will be available as “Queen Extravaganza Pack 02,” with songs available for purchase individually on Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii™. Tracks marked with “O” feature support for keyboards; tracks marked with “X” will offer Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.

Price:

$14.99 USD, £7.49 UK, €10.99 EU (1200 Microsoft Points, 1500 Wii Points™) for the “Queen Extravaganza Pack 02” pack.

$2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per song
$0.99 USD (100 Wii Points™/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.79 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade

More Queen is always nice.

I have to say that it's pretty fuckin' sad that Dream Theater gets a lone track while Nickleback (whom Harmonix has publicly ridiculed) gets a full pack.

Show Must Go On, Seven Seas of Rhye and Don't Stop Me Now make this a pretty incredible week. I hate You're My Best Friend and Long Away is an...interesting choice, but despite that and already having Stone Cold Crazy in GH Metallica, I'll be in for the full pack.

Been out of town this week, I know the OP is falling behind. Will do it this weekend.

tired of nickelback & queen, not buying. someone @ harmonix who makes the decisions is in love with those bands for them to keep adding more and more of them. I'd like to see some bands that haven't been added on there before. Maybe even some that were in guitar hero as well. Hopefully they'll have a sale soon! More Pixies music!!

I LOVE Queen! Seven Seas of Rhye is such a fantastic song, didn't think it would be popular enough to ever make it into the game though. Soooo pumped for Tuesday!
Once again We need Every Time I Die
You have more of a chance of the Damned Things (Keith's new band) showing up, which still is a longshot.

Another week, another pass. I haven't bought a track for a while since RBN has also been :cold:.
Passing on Queen until we goddamn get Prince's of the Universe so I can sing and randomly flail a sword around wildly.
Why do you need a Queen song in order to do that?:D
Fixed that one for ya. ;)
Well that and when I wear it people will instantly know if it's hot or cold outside.

Wow, how have I never known Princes of the Universe was about Highlander?!

Also, the entire Flash soundtrack needs to be put up at some point. Just saying.

Queen is absolutely amazing.
I'd like to see next pack with:
1.Prophet's Song
2.March of the Black Queen
3.Ogre Battle
4.Dragon Attack
5.Brighton's Rock
6.My Fairy King
7.Some Kind of Magic
8.Miracle
9.Innuendo
10.'39
11.Some day One Day
12.Battle Theme
More Jethro Tull would be nice. Two songs is not nearly enough.

And more Scorpions. They should release an 80's Hair Metal pack.
Agreed.

Somewhat of a tangent: Have there been any sales on the Guitar (the real one that can play Pro songs) and/or does anyone recommend it?

I already have a very basic guitar and plan on picking up Rocksmith at some point, but wouldn't object to getting the pro guitar for RB3 if there is a good deal.

Man, I just browsed through the RBN, and found about 8 more songs from metal bands that I had no idea were there. They really need to bring back the sort feature (for bands and/or date added).

I spend 75% of MS points on songs. It's getting a little ridiculous.

What do you guys think the next music game will hold for us, or will we just be getting more dlc until the fad finally wears off (if it hasn't already)?

You reminded me to check RBN and holy shit, Kylesa's Tired Climb on there!
