Rock Band series - Rock Band 4 out now
When I was looking through it a few days ago there were quite a few songs missing... I think it's been generally wonky for the past month or so actually, for whatever reason. The "missing" songs can still be purchased through the dashboard marketplace though.
You know I noticed several days ago that "Sorrow" by Bad Religion was missing from the market place. ...Strange.

From Joystiq

Riding on the coattails of last Friday's Rock Band Network reveal, indie label Sub Pop is the first record company to officially pledge its support for the new DLC initiative. Rolling Stone spoke with Sub Pop A&R exec Tony Kiewel, who said, "This conceivably could be the opening of the floodgates." Sub Pop intends to convert its "entire catalog" -- which includes Sonic Youth, early Nirvana, and The Postal Service -- to playable tracks.

Well there's one label signing on.

Sub Pop is a nice pick up. The Dwarves, Fugazi, Nirvana, Sunny Day Real Estate, Death Cab...lots of great stuff in their library.

Hopefully the Rock Band Network will mean some more free tracks as that is one plus Guitar Hero seems to have. Too bad all the good Fugazi stuff is on Discord or did Sub Pop buy all their back catalog?

Pretty sure Harmonix confirmed there won't be an option to make songs free on RBN. I'm hoping that will change though.

Sub Pop is a really nice grab. Wouldn't mind seeing some Dwarves stuff just for the hell of it (not holding my breath on that one), and obviously Bleach would be pretty awesome.

I'm going to disagree with this. Won't that just lead to a lot of really bad music making its way on to the network?

Okay, I need some guitar advice..

The strum bar on my guitar (the one that came bundled with RB2) is broken. It will work if I strum up but not down (which is a problem, since that's how I play usually). If I press it down it goes down further than its supposed to, so I guess I may have just hit it too hard and snapped something. Has anyone had this happen to them and know a quick and easy way to fix it? Or do I need to get a new guitar peripheral?

Check out these forums/this sticky
http://docsrockbandmods.netforums.us/guitar-modding-101-vt1287.html

lots of information on opening up/replacing guitars and strum bars.

You could look around there for a fix, of you could replace your strummer with a new strummer if you dont want to get a new guitar.

Dwarves? I wish. They're to crazy for rock band. Would be sweet though. They should have their guitrist HeWhoCannotBeNamed as character in the game.

I was just wondering why we haven't seen any Kiss stuff in a while, but dammit if they are going to give us Kiss, where the fuck is Love Gun?

More Weezer. Are they ahead or behind The Offspring now?

In for Weezer and Blink! You can never have enough of the Weez. A lot of their stuff is easy, but it's still a lot of fun. I'd even put them ahead of Green Day in that regard. And with Blink being back together, they really needed more songs in this game. I just wish they would have replaced Feeling This with Dumpweed.
Here's a list of bands/songs signed on through the program already.

More Speck? Conventional Lover is goofy, but it's one of my favorites from Rock Band 2.

I'm a little bummed we didn't get What's My Age Again? in the pack.

The Weezer pack is a day one buy. I probably would've picked another song instead of "Undone," but that doesn't mean it's not a fantastic song. More Blue Album, and Pork and Beans is good enough for me. :D
I probably would've picked another song instead of "Undone,"
Yeah. That song is going to be boring as shit on pretty much every instrument. I'm not even much of a Weezer fan but there are easily 3 or 4 songs off that album they could have used instead that aren't already released that would have been more enjoyable for anyone playing.

I suppose name value counts for something.

Well, I would look at it more as a singer's song. You gotta remember, this game is part karaoke too. I actually think it will be fun as hell to sing. "If you want to destroy my sweaterrrrrrr, whoaoaoa!!!" "Lyin on the flooooor, I've cooooome undooooooone!!!!" See. Doesn't that sound fun? haha. I think most Weezer songs are pretty fun to sing though. :)

Ahead. Weezer has eight DLC tracks (plus one from RB1); the Offspring have six (plus one from RB2).

Oh, I agree there. I just would've preferred "No One Else" or "The World Has Turned and Left Me Here" instead. In the interest of full disclosure, though, the first four tracks from The Blue Album make up one of my favorite album openings.

I actually ended up as the singer most of the time when I played with my friends. I can't hit low notes very well, but give me The Trees or anything else that charts high, and I'll get you at least 90% on hard or expert. :D

The track pack is a little bit of a disappointment: now that we've got four of the Blue Album's ten tracks in Rock Band, I don't think we'll be seeing a full album for that particular album. Here's hoping we get the rest of the tracks as DLC.

Well Harmonix needs to stop with the Offspring, because I just want the, "Rock Band: Offspring" game to come out already. I would think that the greatest selling punk rock act of all time would be deserving of this.

Weezer FTW.... that Damone song is pretty bad ass if you have never heard it.

The blink songs are some of my least favs from them.. pass.

Hey wow, I didn't know that as long as you had the code, you could download the AC/DC track pack from the Marketplace. I thought it just pulled the songs off the disc like with RB1. If they're actually hosting all that content, they're nuts for not opening it up through the Music Store.

weezer and blink for me -

as somebody else posted above, wish they would've given us "what's my age again?"....also would've liked "adam's song" and "i miss you"

My name is Jonas.

I'm carrying the wheel.
Thanks for all you've shown us.

This is how we feel.
Come sit next to me.
Pour yourself some tea.
Just like Grandma made
When we couldn't find sleep.
Things were better then.
Once but never again.
We've all left the den.
Let me tell you 'bout it.

I get goosebumps thinking about that song .... Must.Get.More.MS Points...

I think the only song I'll pick up will be My Name is Jonas, just because of how much fun it was in GH3. Also picked up the AC/DC track pack for PS3 for $30 a few days ago, and I can't say it was the finest purchase I ever made. Sure, there are a few good songs, but the majority just drag on repetitively forever.
saw this mentioned on another forum... possible Pantera DLC August 4th?
http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153769
Nice. Good change of pace. Could be fun as long as they don't totally whiff the song selection.

Wonder what ever happened to Sepultura's Refuse/Resist. It was on one of those "leaked" lists from like a year ago and never came out, despite everything else on the list showing up.

Maybe it's not as good of a deal for $30, but there's still several really great classic songs in that pack. I was able to buy a download code off eBay for it for $12.95 (less than $1 per song = no brainer). I was actually skeptical as to whether it would work, but it did without any problems. I was amazed that the content is actually hosted on the marketplace and not pulled off the disc when you use the code.

Wow, I'll buy any and all Pantera. I guess its a little much asking for fucking Hostile, eh? Give me The Great Southern Trendkill or Suicide Note Part 2 to sing to!

So...the Pepsi Rock Band codes - anyone having an odd success rate? I had 7 in a row "win" followed by 3 in a row that "lost" while trying to get song codes. I've got 2 more sitting here...do I wait until like tomorrow?

By the way, anyone play James Brown's Sex Machine? What the fuck is up with the vocal track. It has you singing background vocals along with James...on the song James sings "Get up ah" and the backup singer says "get on up". On the game, you have to sing both, and not only is it a bitch, it's unfair...Way to ruin a fun song, Harmonix.

There are all kinds of people on DVDtalk getting losing codes now. Everyone used to be 100% winners. Personally, I'm 59-0.

 And here I though I was doing good at 2-0.:lol::lol:

Did they pull todays content from the marketplace? I was all ready to buy the Blink and Weezer packs, only to see they aren't on there, which is odd because there are Youtube videos of all of todays DLC.
