What about Heart Shaped Box and Come as You Are? /cry
Heart Shaped Box isn't on Nevermind...it's pretty obvious that's what they have in the can already. Come As You Are is missed but SLTS is nothing special and Lithium sucks, so no big loss there. I'm sure we'll get the other three before long, and I bet at least one of them will be in the 20-pack.

HMX has been on a roll lately. Even if you hate Nirvana for some strange reason, the sheer volume of stuff they've been releasing recently is pretty impressive.
Does this mean they've had it for 2 weeks and not "scanned it in"? great.
Is that your first email back from them? The first time I emailed them I was told to wait two business days. Well after five business days I emailed them back and was told to wait five to six more business days. On the sixth day nothing happened. This time I emailed them back with a very stern tone showing them how frustrated I was and how ridiculous this process is.

Well this time I was asked about my information. I gave them my information and eventually I got an email back telling me to wait because the issue is complicated. A couple days later I was told that they had no proof that they ever got my drums. This time I had to look at my UPS receipt and email them the tracking number to prove that they in fact have my drum set.

Then I was told that they needed a receipt to prove that my drums were still under the sixty day warranty before they send out the new drums. Then I sent a stern email back to them with all the different tracking numbers, such as the ones for the empty box and my defective drum set. I told that that I was exempt from the reinstated rule because they received my drum set before they set that rule in place.

Then I got an email for the tracking number for the new drums and they are going to arrive here next week.

If you need anything clarified or if you need help with something, then just ask me.

Alright so I am getting Rock Band 2 tomorrow. This is my first rock band ever any last min things I should know about?
Are you gettin' the bundle, soodowoodomego?
Mego?

Yeah picking up the bundle I am actually pretty excited for this. I think I am going to be overwhelmed by the amount of songs that you can buy.

Also what this about renting the first game for what now?

If you rent the first game you export the songs from that one onto your hard drive (minus 3 tracks) for about $5 and be able to play them in Rock Band 2.
Did someone here say how long the endless setlist was?
It's about six and a half hours long.

Okay...I looked around the thread a little since I thought this was discussed at one point, but i'm not going through 100+ pages - anyone know how the heck you get a member of your band subbing on guitar when you play bass? Is it not possible? I set the guy as a sub when there was no guitar player present when I was playing bass, but it always just showed a prefabbed character, not the character I created. I was able to get a bass player subbed in when I played guitar no problem.

I just started playing the original rock band (a little late to the party, I know =P), and I'm really liking it so far. The only thing that really pisses me off are the ho/po combinations. For some reason the square frets really mess me up on those.

Dumb question I know but, I created a guy with a guitar how do I get him to play the drums.

Like I want to be able to go back and forth between the 2.

In RB2 you should be able to pick the instrument you want that character to play each time you play. If you want to drum, you have to log in to your profile, and thus that character, with the drums themselves, but that's the only inconvenience.

I am thinking it's not possible and this is some thing they need to patch. I brought it up a while back and I think it has something to do with the fact that when you select your character it's always under "guitar" and you can't manually pick bass.

Yes. There doesn't seem to be a way to lock a character into Bass. I get a random guitarist when I select my bassist every time.

Its not the squares, its that RB requires you to be more precise than GH. You're probably used to GH where it is incredibly loose/lenient in the timing. You'll get used to it. Welcome to the RB family!

Tried playing Guitar Hero II again and goddamn, after months of playing just Rock Band my skills have gone to shit in that game.

I just popped in GH II after reading your post and I actually beat the game on expert and got the achievement.

I was just playing on hard back when I played it. I sure did suck back then!

Same thing happened to me, RickMeisterMan. Of course, I didn't realize that the HO/PO-able notes were specially marked until recently, so that may have had something to do with it.

I can't get used to the angle of the fret in GHII after all the recent games. It's rough going back to that one, especially with 90% of the songs being cover tunes.

I was playing GH Aerosmith over the weekend (Gamefly) and I don't think I like the GH interface anymore. That game is kind of a dud though, 31 songs in the career. I'm starting to rethink my GH:WT order even though its from YF360games.

Just picked up the RB2 bundle at Best Buy yesteday. This is my first Rock Band experience besides playing at a friend's house and I have to say it is awesome. I'll probably be renting and exporting the RB1 songs this weekend or next. There are so many songs in RB2 that I probably won't need to do that for a while though.

oh geeze, I try to conserve points and they give us Nirvana. So much for that. 90's rock is some of the most fun stuff to sing when you've got people over!

Picked up RB2 for PS3 yesterday at Target. There are lots of great songs, but also more duds (Master Exploder just irks me).
***DLC Week of 10/21 - Nirvana 7 Pack*** Hey gang,

Here's the DLC for this week. It's a hearty helping of 7 Nivana tracks! Dig in and enjoy!

Breed
Lounge Act
On a Plain
Polly
Something in the Way
Stay Away
Territorial Pissings

All tracks are masters.

The full Nirvana 7 Pack will $10.99 (880 Microsoft Points) or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track.

These tracks will be available on Xbox360 on October 21st and on the PS3 on October 23rd.

YES. They can keep Smells Like Teen Spirit and Lithium, the good stuff is all in that seven pack....Lounge Act, On a Plain, Territorial Pissings...thankyehverramuch, Harmonix. It's about time.
Wow - nice DLC. Best since The Who IMO. Though I would have really wanted Smells Like Teen Spirit and especially Lithium (probably my favorite 90's song). Why not those? I'd also like the entire Unplugged album, though not sure if that would work well in these types of games.

I just picked up the RB2 bundle yesterday. I tried going to the bonus tracks website, but got a "Could not connect to MySQL." Tried using Firefox and IE. Anyone else have trouble like this?

I picked up the special edition and the drums don't work. Because EA doesn't reimburse the vendor I now have to wait another week to get the replacement drums instead of being able to just exchange the items at the store, that blows.
Any idea when we'll be able to download our free songs? And is it only certain songs or will it be good for everything?
It'll likely be a code that triggers a download for a 20 song pack.

Yeah, same. My timing was off. Usually I can nail the intro in Hanger 18 with no problems, but I was beeping and booping all over and I immediately popped in Rock Band and felt at home again.

The covers are what made me sell the game. I guess I never really noticed before. It really got on my nerves when I went back to it.

Might have needed calibration?
Might have needed calibration?
On an SDTV, so nope. I think I just plain ol suck at Guitar Hero II is all.

The audio system can cause a need for calibration too, especially if you are using Dolby Digital.
No idea if that's the problem, just pointing it out just in case :)

what's wrong with them
what's wrong with them
Crosstalk problem with the Yellow/Blue pads, when it actually registers the pads. Tried resyncing, restarting, changing batteries, etc, EA said I had faulty pads and they'll send me a box. I'm assuming it got banged around in shipping or something, still disappointed I wont be getting my RB on for awhile yet.

Oh dear lord, I hope your return process goes smoother than mine. I haven't had my drums for almost six weeks. Thank god the new ones from EA are supposed to get here tomorrow.

Crosstalk?... i know mine are a little weird... sometimes i'll hit yellow and it registers yellow but i also lose my multiplier cause something else registers.

You can fix the cross talk by popping the drum heads off and loosening two screws on the underside of the pad. Seriously, it's like a half turn of each screw and BAM! You're golden!

I did this and am still RMAing mine though because the blue one makes this awful "plastic hitting plastic" sounds whenever I hit the blue pad. The registering and all though is on point.

I had to do an RMA on the base of my RB2 drum kit because my mother, who was visiting for a week, slipped off a chair in my office and fell on top of the drum kit, snapping the plastic cross connectors at the base. (She's fine). I store it in my office to keep the baby from playing with it and possibly breaking something - didn't think my mother would then break it .

Anyway, it was a bit of a pain because the online site only asks you about the pads and pedal - there's no option for anything else. Then it says if you need additional help to call the number in the manual. Well, there isn't one (in the drum kit manual anyway). Finally I just pretended it was the pedal and somehow got the web site to spit me out a phone number. It was actually pretty easy from there - the guy set me up to get a whole new base. He did say it would take 6 weeks or so, though. It should still playable now, I think, though I haven't tried it yet. I suppose I should make sure the actual pads aren't damaged too!

My first mega-pack buy today. Got up a little early to check it out.

Didn't have enough time to play them all but at least a few of these are not the Nevermind mixes (check Breed for the most obvious example). They're close enough, but for those of you who are harsh nitpickers, be sure to preview before buying. That said, this is my favorite DLC in a long time.

As expected, "Something in the Way" is at the bottom of the list in difficulty on my song list now.
