Definitely gonna buy the No Doubt album...

People like the Talk Talk original? that version of the song blows, that's one cover that crushes the original.
Well here's a couple of my favorite covers:

"All Along the Watchtower" by Dylan, covered by Hendrix. Even Dylan admits it's better.
"Hurt" by NIN, covered by JCash. Maybe "crushed" isn't right here, but I thought it was extra depressing.
"Cat Scratch Fever" by Nugent, covered by Pantera. Extra ballsy.

That's all at the moment, but I just woke up. Wish I could find my playlist of cover songs.
Good job, Trakan.

I remember last year when you were playing on medium ;)
Thanks. Hopefully it wasn't a fluke and I can get through the endless setlist.

I just got ACDC track pack disk and the code on the back says I can DL these tracks into RB2, if I do this will I only have to put the RB2 disk in to play these ACDC songs?and how much space is the ACDC DL?

it's amazing what a few years have done to help Gwen's appearance.... she is so much hotter now than she was when the band hit the bigtime. yum.

Also, the Rock Band edition of the singles collection will be missing two songs it looks like.

I'm all for a No Doubt pack, but some of those are going to be REALLY boring to play. I'm looking at you, "Underneath It All".

I can agree with that, though it will be nice to have something that showcases the vocalist a little more. Poor vocalists (like my g/f) seem to get the short end of the stick rather frequently. Still, I'd rather they dump that and keep "Trapped in a Box", but that's just me.
After listening to "Running", that song is going to be a bore too.
Ok, I'm changing my vote. Ditch "Running" and keep "Underneath It All". It may be boring, but at least I know it better. I think "Running" is slightly more boring anyway.

Just got done playing Bodom and glad they picked "Are You Dead Yet?" As opposed to their older stuff simply because singing wise it's not all talky (basically the chorus is only part that's not talky, but I'll take it). That and guitar and bass it's fun as well, though that was to be expected.

And Oh Dave Mustaine, I can never hate you. Even when you cried in that terrible Metallica movie http://megadeth.blipback.com/169865
Reminder - one of today's tracks is a free song.
Reminder to this reminder--the free song is by a Nickelodeon Tween Star.

One freebie I will NOT risk popping up in a mystery setlist. Pass!
Thirded.

Dave Mustaine is everything Metallica no longer is.
Pre-Black Album Metallica is everything Megadeth will never be. :bouncy:

"10:28 on the digital clock I know it's late but I just can't stop"

I LOLed at the 10:28 is late part. Why not go ahead and mention how much of rebel you are by eating candy and drinking soda for dinner, and telling broccoli to shove it.

It's really not that bad of a song. It's actually alright fun on drums.
Pre-Black Album Metallica is everything Megadeth will never be. :bouncy:
That's because Dave was in Metallica then. And the same is unfortunately true about Metallica.

He wasn't doing the vocals though thank God

PSBWB, RiP, KIMB >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Anything Metallica ever did

And let's not get into the fact that Megadeth released a few good albums after RiP.

Ride the Lightning is better than any album Megadeth ever made, its not close.

The bottom line is megadeth has been far more consistent with good stuff over the career. Metallica has had higher high's, I'll admit. But they've also put out loads of shit (no pun intended).

And I was probably at the same concert you were around the first of November, and I still say this.

This is exactly right.

Have you heard The System Has Failed? That album came out four years ago, and *gasp* it's actually pretty damn good.

1. After listening to the DL tracks from this week I dont understand why so many people hated it so much. Ill take a much of average quality songs for 80 points any day over a few songs from popular bands for twice as much or more.

2. Metellica beats the shit out of Megadeath. Thrust just like your political views your musical taste seems way outside the norm. Thats not saying its bad but 9/10 people would prefer metallica and with good reason. I would say not only have Mets highs been amazingly higher but even their lows beat megadeaths best album.

Yeah it's the best stuff from Dave in a long time. The latest album, United Abominations, is pretty good to.

With all this talk of Megadeth, I'm damn surprised that they didn't release their song "Gears of War" to tie in with Gears of War 2 on Rock Band.

Also that country pack, meh. I Was hoping for something I care about like Cash, but I guess more points for me to save.
That's because Dave was in Metallica then. And the same is unfortunately true about Metallica.
No, Dave wasn't on any Metallica albums. Not even the original Metal Massacre LP (which I have a copy of right here). He did write some of the music and guitar solos that ended up on the first couple albums though.

One thing about Post-Justice Metallica (or Post-MoP if you prefer): it is not necessarily interesting enough to listen to on its own, but in these kinds of games, where you aren't just passively listening, they can still actually be pretty fun to play. As someone who has played more Metallica songs than most (sorry can't say more about that right now) the classic songs are still the most fun to play, but the more recent ones still make for some fun gameplay. Also IMO Death Magnetic is the best thing they have done in 20 years, also fun to play. Just wish GHWT itself was a bit more polished, sigh.

Rust In Peace slaughters that album and any other with ease.

As much as I like the first 4 Metallica albums, Megadeth wins, fatality.

I'm such a DLC whore for Rock Band I'll download any free song they give me. I was also really happy to pick up "Tempted" for 80 points. Thats a great song.
