Those drums seem pretty neat, and would definitely be convenient for me since I take my drums around a lot. Unfortunately I'm not really sure where I could put them. Otherwise I'd probably jump on it.
Cool. The placement thing is an issue I knew would pop up so no big deal there. How's the response? Does it seem to pick up every hit without much trouble? Any cross-talk or other issues with actually using them?
It picks up the hits pretty accurately. I think the dropping notes is more me hitting the edge than anything else. When I actually hit the rubber part (if you can notice I'm not a very good drummer), I have never noticed it not picking it up.

One issue I guess would just be the sheer amount of wires they splay all over your table. I still haven't figured out a great way to arrange them, but this has more to do with me being in the midst of finals than anything else.

The problem I have with these things is the price. 60 bucks? No, sir!

The colors and designs on the pads though are freaking sweet! I wish I had those on my stock RB2 kit!

The whole placement things seems to be a huge issue, about every review for them I have read says the same thing, but we could see that coming.

I think this kit should be completed with some foldable frame or something to make it more like your regular kit. Then the 60 bones you shell out could be a little more justified.

I picked this up at Toys R Us thanks to the new sale. Is there a general FAQ in regards to the RB games? I'm a complete novice when it comes to any of these musical games. I'm wondering if I can rent (or borrow) someone's RB 1 disc to transfer the songs off of it?

Yes. You can borrow it and pay the 400 points to transfer all but the few that don't. I think it was Enter Sandman and Paranoid.

Thanks!

Are these track packs I'm seeing in the stores basically just DLC packaged up on a disc? Do they download directly to the game, or is it a one time use code? If so, can you buy the disc, put in the code, and trade the packs to gamestop?
Thanks!

Yep.

Not sure about your other question, I honestly don't know a single person who has bought the track pack disc.

I might be mistaken, but I believe we have discussed before and concluded its cheaper to download the songs a la carte rather than buy the 2 track pack discs. Unless you really want the 250 achievements on the disc.

Besides, I doubt you want every single song on those packs. And even if you do just download them. Those packs are supposedly meant for those without internet connection.

Is there a way to switch instruments without signing out of your Live account on the active controller, and then re-signing in with a different controller? It's really annoying when you just wanna mess around on different instruments in single player. Is there some simple thing that I'm missing here?
Pearl Jam's "Ten" album coming in March, apparently.
makes sense... they are re-releasing re-mastered along with a disc of the whole thing remixed.
Pearl Jam's "Ten" album coming in March, apparently.
Source? I know this was discussed since the remaster is coming but I never saw anything remotely official, just fan speculation/hopeful wanting.
Watch the VGAs, Kane. Rumored to have been leaked through the VGA rehearsal.
Ah, ok, thanks. I've been watching the leaks but didn't see that one yet. I don't think I can stomach watching the VGAs though

Good news though, I'll definitely buy it. Not a huge Pearl Jam fan at this point but that album was a staple of my middle school life.
In march...like wtf. Who cares about what we're going to get 3+ months. I am more concerned with what is coming after this freaking country stuff.
Isn't that when the re-mastered CD comes out? I think that's why.

Also, this was confirmed on the VGAs.

... erm... because it's one of the top 3 albums of the 90's next to Nevermind and Metallica's self titled album? This is big news.

Plus didn't they announce No Doubt three months ago? Stevie Ray Vaughn? Jane's Addiction? Those still are unaccounted for and the clock is ticking.

ehh it'd be better if they did a best of pack for some of these bands like foo fighters, pearl jam and chili peppers instead of one album......there are maybe 2 or 3 good songs out of 10 or so in each album that are fun to play in Rock Band.

I'll probably get Jeremy and Even Flow, but that's it..and we already have Alive in RB2

Bah, grunge. Although Alive is pretty fun. I bet/hope I can find at least a few songs worth downloading on this album

What? Ten is solid from beginning to end.
And I'd rather listen to babies crying than Eddie Vedders voice.
Sorta like reading your posts then, eh? ;)

How many DLC songs do you guys have?

I think I'm up to 86 or 87. Just went back and picked up some QOTSA (3's and 7's, Little Sister) and RHCP (Under the Bridge, Suck my Kiss, Breaking The Girl)

Intrigued by "Ten". As far as 90's rock goes, it's on par with Nevermind as far as influential. Definitely will pick it up if only to belt out "Black" like I've done in my car everytime it's on the radio.
246 DLC not counting the RB1 transfer songs or the 20 free DLC.
Wow, you're kickin' my ass! I thought I had a lot too.

I Think it's because I have some horrible addiction...

I've only played songs like Brass in Pocket like twice and never looked back.

Got you beat by 1 song at 247 currently.

Trying to cut down on buying whole albums though, bought every album until Foo Fighters and just limited myself to a few songs on that one.

That TRU deal is pretty tempting, though all my TRUs are sold out of the 360 version. Wouldn't mind having the RB2 instruments for my room so I can move the RB1 stuff to my living room. I think I might try and save up for the Ions if TRU doesn't get any more this week.

Because of you saying that I'll probably end up buying 2 or 3 more songs...

How do I transfer the songs from RB1 to RB2 because I am going to get it used from Gamestop when I get off of work? I have 540 Marketplace points so I'm good on that front but just wanted to know the process so when I get the Vol. 2 Track Pack later it will be a smooth transition.

Boot up RB1 and go in to the options. Purchase the license transfer for 400 points and let it do its magic.

Thank you, sir. I just got this and the thread is kind of big to read through for the info.

Now I actually have a game on 360 that the woman will enjoy playing even though she likes to do vocals and doesn't know the words to 90% of the songs.

5.

I just got the game yesterday though. The music selection is fantastic so far.

I feel sorry for you. =]

I have 76, not including RB1 and 20 Free. Really thought I had more than that for some reason, now I can't even fathom having close 250. I really hope you got the hook up on point cards cause ~$500 in downloads is ridiculous.

EDIT: make that 77 forgot I picked up Mr. Brightside.

151 Songs. Kind of regret getting the full Screaming for Vengeance album though - don't play most of the songs often.

You know we talk a lot about what songs we personally want in the game but rarely what would be good for the game commercially. Lets face it the more commercial success the game has the better things will be for us since more and more songs will come to the game. I have noticed that there just are not enough songs that girls younger then like 30/40ish like to sing. Seems mid aged woman find plenty of stuff that they like to sing because of all the 60's-80s stuff and us guys find plenty of rock and metal. But there just isnt enough of a draw for the singstar crowd. Personally 2 songs I think would fit this mold extreamly well while still being kick ass songs are 2 Cardigan songs.

Both were hits in the mid 90's and both have a great amount of each of the 3 instruments so would be fun songs to play. Love Fool especially would probaly be great for all these 18-30 crowd girls since it was featured in Romeo and Juliet and played constantly on the radio for awhile. I dont think I knew a girl in the 90s that didnt have either the bands CD or the movies sound track.

Don't be sad because she will try her best and we will have fun so it'll be good times had by us.
