Saints Row Official Thread (New map available for download)
Damn man, Im on a 30" samsung hdtv.. I feel like a bitch.
I feel ya. 30" philips HDTV with yellowing in top right corner.

Bump this thread for the release of the full game.

Driving down the street in a bulldozer is BADASS. Sadly, at least on my setup, the fucking screen tearing issues got WORSE from the demo, not quite sure how THQ pulled that off.

It's pretty damn annoying but I'm gonna deal with it for now... framerate is a little better though.

I watched the screen tearing video......so is it because the lighting changing as he moves the camera around. If so.....I could careless. But if not, would someone please enlighten me.

This game is easily better than GTA if just for the fact that the side missions make total fucking sense... no longer do you have to do shit like ambulance or police missions, now you can do escort missions (which are fun as hell) and insurance fraud.

This game is easily better than GTA, imo. I'm having a blast so far just driving around doing all the side missions, and I couldn't stand most of the side missions in GTA.

I'm still not sure whether I want to pick this up or not. I bought Dead Rising when it came out (still working on it) and I spent the money I planned to buy SR with on Madden. I was also kind of disappointed by the Saints Row demo. So, I guess I'll wait for more impressions/reviews before I make my final decision (it also doesn't help that Star Fox: Command just came out too).

The full game is amazing... the demo dosen't do it justice at all. The demo seems like less than 1% of the game now that I'm playing it. Can't wait until everyone gets it and starts going online with it as well.

I think the multiplayer is going to pass an already awesome game even further.

Thanks for making this the official thread Shrike, that was fast ;)

I also want to see how the CAG gang situation turns out. I hope C.A.G-Unit becomes at least the second gang, just so I feel proud for coming up with it ;)

Awesome game hostin Protect the pimp 12 player games starting at 5pm EST

PS- My set up (have 2) are RCA 50in Widescreen Scenium HDTV w/ Onkyo 7.1 surround and Optoma H31 projector w/ 101in screen and SONY 5.1 surround (may switch the sound set-ups) oh and the pimp hand LOOKS HUGE on my set ups..lol

Stripper with an AK-47 is hot, got that bitch on speeeeeeeed dial.

OMG, Bubba the Love Sponge is a DJ in the game, awesome

Oh shit, apparently stores also close at night... just went to buy some clothes at midnight, and was wondering why it was a kick icon instead of the hand. Now the game is telling me to crack the safe and grab as much shit as I can to take to a pawn shop.

AWESOME!

This shit gets even better... you can dial the number that is on the back of the taxis on your cell phone, and the cabbie will pick you up and take you where you need to go.
Still debating between this and Enchanted Arms. Anyone who's played both have a suggestion?
You know, at one point you claimed your family was broke and yet, as a what 15-16 year old?, you've been getting every major 360 release.

Wow. I never liked 1up.com very much at all (the editors are pretty bad at writing if you ask me, and the layout is HORRENDOUS, and the 1up show is almost as bad as IGN weekly) but this just pisses me off:

http://www.1up.com/do/reviewPage?cId=3153253

For the Saint's Row review, they give users a half-assed barely a fucking page review, then score it a 7. WTF? If you're seeing the giant 8.5 score, I believe thats the users score because it says the Editor's Score is N/A, and at the end of the review, it says 7/10.

The review is laughable. All they basically say its a GTA clone...thats better. There's only one damn paragraph that is supposed to summarize ALL the improvements Saint's Row has made in comparision to GTA. One goddamn paragraph. I spit on you 1up.

You can't argue with calling it a GTA clone HOWEVER it does every single thing better than GTA. Physics, minigames, controls, cars, its all better.

Its called birthday money, which if you took the time to notice was just a couple weeks ago, so if I want to buy a game, I will. and did I say I'm broke? no, I said we're not rich, but not poor either.

I think I'm gonna pick up Enchanted arms, and wait a while until they fix those "problems" with the fps or picture issues.

How about humor? Can anyone comment on that.

I think Roufess sold me on the game, everything he is saying sounds too awesome.

Yea, I mean, all the reviews are right, it's like Volition just picked and choosed the best elements of all the sandbox urban games and left out the shitty stuff.

Shit, even GTA 3's Rampage mode comes back as "Mayhem" missions.

There isn't alot of humor in the game, the game takes itself seriously. Being able to choose from 2 or 3 missions at a time is awesome as well.

It's all the little touches they added that have made the game awesome.

The humor flops most times; it's pretty stale. Nothing like Grand Theft Auto's referential / smart humor, which it desperately tries to be and totally falls short of actually doing.

Regardless, I can look past that. It's an awesome game.

Sorry I didn't accept the game invite Brak, but I'm going to tool around in single player before I head online.

My dude looks like a 1920's gangster, fedora and all.

Oh shit, when you hijack a car with other people in it, you can take them HOSTAGE!!!

haha for anyone who did the los carnales mission

the ending is awesome where he's like "bitch that was last fall's collection" or something along those lines

I found a copy of the game that didn't have the shiny cover, it was a misprint, it's all black lettering with shiny around the edges of the letters. Naturally, I bought that one.. it's a collector thing, I guess, I doubt i'll ever see a misprinted one again.

Dialing 911 on the cell phone in the game calls an ambulance to heal you or whatever you want. Call multiple times for happy fun!

Picture taken with crappy cell phone. And yes, that is Adam Duritz. Not officially, of course, but he has the dreads and everything.

Adam Duritz is the lead singer for Counting Crows.

picked it up today. Game looks like a lot of fun. Made a character that looks like me, muttonchops and all. First thing I wanted to do is find some decent, well fitting pants. My char looks like he dropped a deuce in his pants.

Compairing to San Andreas? WHich is a few years old? Just wait for the next GTA to come out and wipe this out.

I dont know if I should just get this (long time untill some games come out that interest me, GoW, RSVegas) or just wait for another. Someone tell me to buy this.

Buy this.

Really? I can see why alot of people don't like the humor. But I like it because it is just so campy and bad. I mean, even the demo gave me a few good laughs because of some of those just terrible straight-up camp lines.

Where is the store where you bought that suit from?
Where is the store where you bought that suit from?
Impression Suits, near the top of the map, next to a jewelry store, barber shop, and a mayhem mission.

I am kicking this games ass in SP. I bought the book to get all the tags and CDs. Screw the missions, don't really need help for them. Also Chicken Ned kicks ass when he doesn't have to work.

Man I dunno what did it, but I smoked a blunt then drank a 40 and suddenly my guy has super punching powers. I'm talkin homerun-out-of-the-park type punches.. not the normal punches, but the uppercut.. like he would go punch punch uppercut and that uppercut sent them FLYING in the sky.

So maybe the drinks/drugs do some stuff after all.

Yeah they do, I saw a guy kick a pig across the whole damn city!

Also, I saw a jumper jump onto the street below from an overpass. OH MY GOD WAS IT FUNNY AND UNEXPECTED!

Is it just me or is there no brown hair color? I thought I scrolled through all of the choices, but theres nothing that matches my hair color. I have like friggin redish hair now, gah!

Gamespot gave it the expected 8.3. Pretty comfortable with my blind purchase now. My copy was shipped Monday. Saving 12 bucks was worth the extra 3 or 4 days as far as I'm concerned.

I just finsihed playing this after a 6 hours. Me and my friend were playing then we went to online mode which worked for a while. Then I guess the servers were gettting overloaded cause we couldn't get a game going. I like this game more then any GTA I've played.
Impression Suits, near the top of the map, next to a jewelry store, barber shop, and a mayhem mission.
Thanks for the heads up. I need to go out and explore the whole city.

Btw, I love the fact that you can keep 160 different cars in your garage.

I love the Drug trafficing and Insurence fruad missions, I stop playing the story mode. I rented it from work (hollywood video/ game crazy) this morning and I am only 9% fininshed.

So, is the game pretty long or does it seem like it might be somewhat short? I guess what I am asking is that after how ever many missions you have done, what are your completion percentages?

I just found the music store. This game has a awesome selection of music. Better than any GTA so far (as far as hip-hop goes).

I need some help Is anyone doing the chop shop activity in downtown? I have all the cars except for the bulldog which is a hummer knock off. They say its at the museum. But I've drove around their forever and can't ever find it.

It's a huge huge huge huge game. I've done 8 missions plus a fair amount of activities, and I'm at 13%. I've put in about 4 hours of gameplay. I think it's a 30-40 hour game.
