Viva La Collidge!

the only things between me and a few days of sitting on my ass, ebaying, catching up on my gaming and catching up on my drinking-- 35 minute power point presentation tomorrow on Nagasaki, 2 five pagers to write over the weekend, a novel to read and finals in 2 weeks.

Did you know? Apossum has had less than 30 beers for his first semester at UW-mad and has only been kinda drunk once, which is significantly less than what he drank at community college. incidentally, by function of his drinking level and reading time, his social life is almost non-existent.
..is this the first season you've watched or something? Scrubs usually has 4 to 6 "serious" episodes per season..

Scrubs isn't a through-and-through comedy, it's more like a dramedy.
I've never watched it a whole lot but of the last few seasons I've probably seen at least a dozen episodes and I've never seen a serious episode. It just feels off for a sitcom that delves so far into the slapstick comedy area to suddenly be all serious. I almost felt a little uncomfortable at the end of the episode because you start out laughing and then it gets way too serious by the end.

From 2nd semester sophomore year until the end of 1st/beginning of 2nd semester senior year (excluding 1st semester of junior year since i was doing an internship/coop program) I drank like a fish.

Sometime during the end of 2001 beginning of 2002 I just got sick of it all and began to concentrate on my classes and graduating... what a difference... the first and ONLY 4.0 I ever got as an undergrad.

I wish I were back in college. Working full time sucks ballz... What happened to summer vacation?? My big backlog of games only gets bigger because I don't have time to play them. Of course now I have the money to pay for games. Oh the irony...

3rd Grader: Gee, I can't wait till I get into high school.

Billy Madison: [whispering] Don't you say that. Don't you ever say that. Stay here. Stay here as long as you can. For the love of God, cherish it. You have to cherish it.

Yech.. I saw that monday or whenever CC showed it.. Awful movie, but a good quote.

Apossum, you need to make more time for the drinks at UW! ;)

I'm in Madison, although out of college now, and it's a fun town. On a related note, I got hammered last Friday and woke up Sat morning with a breadstick in one hand while I was sleeping on the couch.

That sounds like one of those Axe questionable hookup commercials.
Between the PSATs, the SATs, the ACTs, and the GREs, I never want to take another standardized test in my life.
Eh, you could still have the LSAT, MCAT, or GMAT ahead.
I've taken a little break from college. It's been a year so far, and I don't anticipate returning any time soon. Not without a damn good reason at least.
As long as you've got a way to pay bills, you shouldn't. And pimping out your sister to Kayden doesn't count.

This is true. I'm usually too tired to walk downtown from Slichter by the time the week is over. Fortunately, I'll be living on Langdon across from the Roundhouse in the Fall, which I hear makes you automatically drunk 24 hours a day, whether you've been drinking or not.

good work on the breadstick. I love waking up with breakfast cooked and in my hand in the morning. :)

The more money I make the more what's taken out pisses me off though. fucking social security.

EDIT: So there's an actual "Revolution" board now. Cool.
I'm thinking about going to film school, too...
film school rocks! i mean, aside from the politics. i've learned so much in less than a year it's ridiculous. plus you can make some good contacts and start networking while you're still in school.

Interesting. What do you mean by the 'politics'?
Interesting. What do you mean by the 'politics'?
well, among other things, how scripts are chosen for example. during our midterm drama selection process 2 scripts out of the 12 or so our class pitched were religious satires. neither were among the 4 chosen for production. also, certain people in the class are continually chosen for key positions while most of us have to rotate to positions that aren't as desirable on some shows. anytime you have a small group of people (in our case, some of the instructors) choosing projects and approving crew positions, politics will come into play. luckily there's only one project i've had to work on even though i wanted no involvement. i tried not to complain and do a good job because i highly doubt once out in the real world i'm gonna like every project and every position i get, but you gotta do what you gotta do to pay the bills sometimes.
Interesting. What do you mean by the 'politics'?
I'm willing to bet, as darkmere explains below, that it's much like the [sometimes] subtle politics inherent everywhere in life, from high school to the office and beyond. I can say, firsthand, that office politics are a bunch of bullscheisse, and my refusal to go along with the tired tradition of kissing ass and playing nice has pigeonholed me into a dead end.
I really shouldn't leave the house with my credit card. I stopped by blockbuster on a whim, and ended up with 6 games (just over $100).
What GameCube games did you buy?

I'd like to attend one... there just aren't any near my location.

With my luck, like every art class I've taken, I'll get stuck with creativity-hindering / political teachers and courses. fuck schoo'.
What GameCube games did you buy?
Just Killer 7, new.

Also: Mega Man Anniversary Collection (PS2), new (had it on gamecube, sold it)

Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits, new

Metroid Prime: Hunters, po

Trace Memory, po

Trauma Center: Under the Knife, po

i went to one near where i lived and it sucked ass. 2 months into the program and it was all theory, no practical. theory is good and all, but what good is it telling me about lighting without getting my hands on lights? if you're gonna go to film school, go to one with a good reputation. most of the good ones are in california or nyc.

so i just found out that my friend got a job working for jim shockey's hunting show. never seen it, but it sounds like a sweet deal. has anyone seen this show? he says it airs on oln in the states.

You know i never really got into handheld video games. It always seems like it would be more of a burden to carry it around.

If you have girlie pockets, it could be.
If you have girlie pockets, it could be.
Naw....its just that my huge wang takes up most of my pants...hard to get anything else in there.

Seriouly though i am very forgetful i would lose it within a week.
You know i never really got into handheld video games. It always seems like it would be more of a burden to carry it around.
I carry around my PSP and my DS at the same time, so its less of a burden than you think. Also about half the time I spend gaming on a handheld, I do at home.
Are there places that will professionally clean the interior of your car?
It won't be cheap. Profession interior cleaning never costs less than about $100 (and that's a conservative estimate).

So far Trauma Center is the most fun of the bunch, but I haven't tried Mr. Driller.
Hey Sblymnl,

I was looking at post counts and you have the most here at CAG.
What's next on your list of breaking news stories? minx? NintendoFanGirl?
Dragon Lord Frodo was banned!? WHA!?!!

Serious question here! Would any of you move to your college if it was only about 40 minutes away? I'm planning to do this so I can be freeeee of my parents and live in a generally better city.
What's next on your list of breaking news stories? minx? NintendoFanGirl?
I keep up on most info around here but I miss some. Morbid was one (and obviously NintendoFanGirl was another... ;))

I know I did! Now that I'm winding down with college now and I don't have a career in place, the parent's basement isn't looking too bad anymore...

I find it hard to keep up with a lot of shit here and I'm here almost everyday...

Well if you're looking for more DS games to play, I have Sprung and Ping Pals for trade. I might even be willing to part with the Urbz and World Championship Poker, if the price is right ;)

Didn't we already discuss this? He's writing a book on how to run a successful adult bookstore.

But I don't have an official tradelist. Most the stuff I want to trade is pure crap that I'm sure nobody wants. Like Ping Pals and Sprung.

I can't wait 'til a good DS game come sout.

(The New Super Mario Bros.)
