Sega has Cut Yakuza 3 content, Listings of entire Cuts now available.

^ Bingo. If they were working on a limited budget, then hey, things had to be cut. Shit happens. It's still - maybe 5 hours out of a game that features nearly 100 hours of total gameplay.

They aren't threatening people. It's a business reality.

Praise Jesus and pass the marmalade, someone gets it.
If you seriously work for Sega (which I don't really believe because you just said that working there was proof enough then said that you weren't really sure if it actally sold well) then you have some explaining to do, not just for my Jackassness but for everyone else who want some answers on what happened with Yakuza 3, why cuts were made and the future of the series.
He might be a delivery guy or something. He may very well not know why SEGA cut stuff from the game.

Maybe they cut content from Yakuza 3 because they needed those resources to start localizing Yakuza 4?

I'm probably going to buy another copy for a friend's birthday. He probably won't buy this game, so I'll have to buy it for him.

lets not get ahead of are selfs this is a 30-50 hour game. It would be 100 if this was like the only game you had on the ps3. Now that would be sad.

Hell even if he was the delivery guy he can ask someone what is up at Sega.

If someone posted all the missing missions and hostess clubs on youtube I'd be happy. Subbed of course. That way we can at least see it and it won't be lost forever. Anyone up to the task?

Scratch that, I am going to be up to the task of making some youtube videos for the missing content. I will provide all the missing content as I don't have the JP version nor am I fluent enough in Japanese to provide the subtitles but I will have the mission needed. If anyone knows how to do the above 2 (making a video from a ps3 game, Subtitleing) get in contact with me and we will make it happen!

Why are you going on a personal crusade about this crap? Can't the hours you're wasting bitching at Sega and arguing with people be better spend... playing games? I think that's more enjoyable, no?

I call bullshit on you. I'm 35 hours in, doing my second play through and attempting to do everything in this game. I'm at around 28% completed. 60-100 hours isn't entirely unreasonable to completely 100% this game.

Thats a pretty fair call, at this point he is probably just pulling numbers form thin air. If you look back through the thread, he hadnt even started the game as of two days ago.

We may very well be witnessing, first-hand, the birth of a troll.

I think phantasyx is just obsessed with the missing content despite the game being great. I don't think (s)he is a troll, just too passionate about the cut content and can't appreciate the game itself.

Yeah some people are done once they finish the game, like at 35 hours, If it really takes you 60 hours to get 100% you are a slow ass gamer. I'm on chapter 6 so I am playing it currently. The only game that ever took me 100 hours or more was FF12, that was nights and nights of playing, leveling up, and gathering items nothing like Yakuza 3.
lets not get ahead of are selfs this is a 30-50 hour game. It would be 100 if this was like the only game you had on the ps3. Now that would be sad.
See, we have different opinions of what constitutes 'sad.' I think it's sad to believe that the opinions of several people who have played through the game are dead wrong, and that the opinion of someone who hasn't played the game at all is correct.

But surely you've played through it?
Of course I own it, not saying this game sucks but it hasn't caught my attention enough to play
 Well, geez. Let's try to save a little face here, ok? I sure hope you didn't say anything else totally dunderheaded.

I'm not going to sit around and play a incomplete game and let Sega potentially fuck up Kenzan or Yakuza 4.

The fuck? Sega knows they sold a game or didn't sell a game. Playing or not playing doesn't get on their register. I'm not sure how your mind thinks, but let's run down the list:
1) Starting and maintaining a protest over a small portion of cut content: ok
2) Possessing limited Japanese skills and no computer skills at recording, editing, or captioning video, making YouTube videos of all the cut content: ok
3) Fearing that, if you play the game, Sega will somehow notice and release not only 4 but Kenzan in the US: ok
4) Actually playing the fucking game: not ok

A troll doesn't have to be self-aware to be a troll. It's good enough to fail to get off your soapbox long, long, LONG after your points are made, and it's better when you make nonsensical points, or treat this as a moral/ethical issue. You're on point there.

Fine, I will platinum the game in less then 60 hours. To prove a point and add it to my other 12 platinums.

Mykevermin... All taken out of context, thanks though.

You do know that having Fatlus as your icon makes you a loser right? All joking aside, you're pissing your panties over some stupid ass shit. What if I'm not reading a faq? What if I want to take things slow? What if I want to explore every nook and cranny? What if I like wasting my time at Karaoke want want to piss hours doing that?

And the fact you spent 100 hours on FF12 only proves you have very little taste and a lot of time to waste. Which fits in perfectly with how much you complain about some missions. I could attribute this to childlike idealism, but as you turn old not getting everything and compromising become more common. I'd just glad to play this game in English and as long as the storyline is for the most part intact, I'm cool.

Bwhahahahaha! :rofl: :booty::rofl: :booty:

So beating it on ex-hard, finishing/completing all substories, getting 10mil yen, ultimate skill and minigame master is going to take you 60 hours? Not including all the other trophies?

I'm sorry, I don't see this happening, but good luck on that! :applause:

Dude go mop up some SHi+ and clean up some trash at Sega and ask someone about Yakuza 3 cuts. Because we all know that if you actually worked there you wouldn't be posting on this thread

Yakuza 3 is no feat, I've platinumed worse. Blazblue was crazy hard nothing beats that platinum.

I think I'd like to pick this game up. I know I'm not going to put in 100 hours and I've read here in the forums that it takes at least 35 hours to beat the game. I'm wondering is that 35 hours all action? How much is of it is talking to people? Or other things.

I read in Kotaku just today and it said it had 5 hours of cutscenes. I know if you were going to play it a second time you would skip most of that.

Dude seriously. You complain so fucking much about something that in the grand scheme of things is rather insignificant. Erosion of Human rights? Public health care? Violating the constitution? Nah, let's rally against something even MORE EVIL. CUTTING YAKUZA 3! THE GLORIOUS GAME FROM NIPPON IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN OUR FREEDOM! Seriously. I could get behind you on something that fundamentally alters the game's integrity such as altered storyline, removing plot, simplifying plot, but the essential parts of the game that tell the tale of Yakuza 3 are still there. I bought the game and have enjoyed it for 35 hours. I've beaten it and I'm going to do everything there is to do in it. I still got fun and value out of what I purchased. You're making it sound like they ripped you off so badly and that they personally offended America as a whole. Calm the fuck down. It's a video game. Is it still fun to play? Does it still have its storyline? Yes? Granted it sucks, but look at your posts. You are devoting good energy to something like this?

BTW the fact that you platinumed blazblue only shows that you have nothing better to do. Why the fuck would you platinum such a shitty 2d fighter?

Dude if you've even seen my last few posts? they are filled with sarcasm and jokes. I'll admit that I was pretty pissed when I first found out but I've mellowed out to the fact that the cuts will never be back into the game and they were probably low on cash and had to make some cuts, I'm even trying to get a video together so everyone can just see whats missing so this whole ordeal will be over and done. (This Thread really needs closure)

However there is one thing that I just can't get over, I officially accuse YOU to be responsible for the cuts made to Yakuza 3. Yes, you Paco are the reason. I will tell everyone how it happened.

Its simple, Paco "accidentally" pulled the plug on a hard drive that contained the Complete US version of the Yakuza 3 while we was trying to find a open slot for a vacuum plug to vacuum the Sega of America offices (he's probably a Janitor because he never said what he does). This is fact because HE said himself that he works for Sega, not me. After losing all the Yakuza 3 data the localization team had to scrap together the game within a few short months and it led to a incomplete version minus oh the beloved Hostess clubs. Still don't believe me? I even have video evidence on how the whole ordeal went down (ends at 2:30).

You're right. I did pull the plug on the server and the real Yakuza 3 was deleted. Sega was like LOL WUT and did a troll face and handed me a huge promotion because of the shenanigans I pulled. Sega said NOW THAT'S EPIC TROLLING and made me their new VIP because of what I did to the English speaking world. On top of the raise they gave me and my new position in the company, I also have to come clean and tell everyone I have the REAL Yakuza 3 at my house. Not only that, but I have a translated Yakuza KENZAN! That will never be shown to the public. You got me. And I will never give the public the REAL THING. I've done it entirely for my own selfish pleasures and to bolster Sega in the WORLD CUP TROLL.

Also Goldenboy is one of my favorite animes ever. I can't believe it's been over ten years since I've seen it.

LOL i'm glad you've at least seen that one, it does bring back memories. *sigh* Why even bother getting back to the topic at hand.

I can understand why Paco did it. Did you see how stacked the girls were in the Sega office? I would've had to have my tongue stapled to my mouth to keep from dropping out all the time. geehuuhhh

Its been awhile since I seen Goldenboy, one of my favorite anime. Bought the set at a blockbuster video for 10 bucks years and years ago.

Will not purchase now that I know things have been cut. I was only mildly interested in the game, but I would have picked it up eventually... probably within a month or two. Now? Not so much.
Then you're going to be missing out, because there is just so much fun to be had in this game. Oh well, can't please them all I guess.
I'm sure I am. And that's unfortunate, but my lukewarm anticipation of this game disappeared when they decided to omit things.

Westernize the release? Who are they kidding? It's a game called Yakuza, where you brawl in streets of Japan and glow when powered up.

This is, arguably, the last half decent thing that Sega actually makes and they have to screw it up. Why should I support that? There are enough publishers and developers out there who make amazing games that "get" it.

And before anyone decides to tell me that I'm taking it too seriously (LOLZ get a life! JUST A GAME!), get over yourself. Seriously. Who the fuck are you to tell people what to do with their time or what should be important to them? Gaming a hobby that I take seriously, including things involving the industry.

They really didn't have the money and had to make reasonable cuts to the game to convince the "big wigs" at sega. Its really just Fan service 100% Thats why it would be nice just to have a video of whats missing as far as content. Definately support Sega by buying a new copy so we at least get a chance for 4 and Kenzan. I hate to admit it but its looking like that more so each day

So they can cut more stuff and neuter more releases? Wasteful localization efforts. You don't reward people for half succeeding so they can do better next time. It's like those people who bought and revere King of Fighters XII (AKA KoF Beta), justifying their purchase because it'll help support the next release. These companies are not charities. In the grand scheme of things, they don't give two craps about you.

Fanservice sells games. If Sega higherups don't understand that much, then they deserve to fall under.

If you've followed this forum, which I'm guessing you haven't, I felt the same way however 1 and 2 didn't sell well and I completely understand your decision not to get the game.

However do know that the community manager Ruby actively sends all the hate mail and Forum messages at the Sega Forums each day to those same higher ups so they can get a better understanding of the Position they are in. "why?" because he too is a fan of the game. So everyone took a loss on 3 but this won't happen again with 4.
Alright, Guy. Don't buy the game. That's cool.
Eh, I'll buy it used so that Sega gets none of my money when it's cheaper down the line. I was thinking of picking it up today, which is why I checked the PS3 forum and read this crap.

I'm slowly going through the rest of the thread and noticed people citing VGChartz and representatives from VGChartz. Hasn't it been confirmed that VGChartz completely makes up their data and are notoriously unreliable?
