What's with "Returns" somehow hurting a stores numbers, that is so completely out of the clerks control its ludicrous to even consider it.

Sorry bout not specifying Scorch, but I only have a PS3 at this point. I gotta admit that even if GC would match GS trade values, if they don't match the promo(s) too, I'll have to go to Gamestop. :lol: Of course, if FYE took hardware in trade, I'd probably go there, since their values are normally leagues better than GS or GC.

I liked Conan myself as well, though Ron Perlman's acting was a bit deadpan at times.:roll:

I've often pondered why the hurt comes down on the service staff for retail. After going over many ideas the best I can come up with is that it is convenient and fun.
 
I would go to Gamecrazy because its closer to my house, but the people running that store are a bunch morons.
 
I actually was able to pick up the Xbox360 GTA IV LE yesterday. Lol, even the guy selling it to me didnt understand how it could be that cheap, he was like "it costs the same as just the game new! Why would they do this?!"

But anyway, I had a question, does gamecrazy make a habit of "gutting" it's games?

I mean, this box for the GTA IV LE was pretty...well..."opened". If anything the outer plastic wrap had a flimsy piece of tape to hold the giant plastic unwrap together. I DID inspect it and aside from the box obviously being opened and not in good shape (well it has been handled around since launch), everything else was intact as far as i'm aware.

But anyway, I wasn't sure, is that how they usually are?

I mean, this box for the GTA IV LE was pretty...well..."opened". If anything the outer plastic wrap had a flimsy piece of tape to hold the giant plastic unwrap together. I DID inspect it and aside from the box obviously being opened and not in good shape (well it has been handled around since launch), everything else was intact as far as i'm aware.

The Special Edition came with a lockbox(and keys for it), a Rockstar logo keychain, a Rockstar logo duffelbag, a music CD with supposedly 'exclusive' tracks only available on that CD and an artbook with concept art from the game.

Also, for some reason or other, they included an empty baggie in with all the extra stuff. Either the keys were supposed to be in there originally and just slipped out of every one I've seen or they want you to use that extra baggie in conjunction with the lockbox. ;)

Did you miss the Blockbuster clearance sale a while back? They were selling this version of GTAIV for $30 new. Mind you, $25 is better.:D

An empty baggy? I don't think that came with it. I had whipped out my phone and looked up the contents announcement but I didn't see a baggie in the picture or listing, however the keys did come included. Still disconcerting that it was so opened and stuf but for such a price and still getting the game new included was hard to pass up.

I paid $90 originally for my SE copy(of which I just started using the lockbox for my coins not too long ago)right at launch, then found 3-4(3 for PS3, 1 for 360) of the SE's when Blockbuster was selling them for $30 a pop.

I figured they would make great trade fodder and everybody would want a 'special edition' in trade for a newer game like Ghostbusters or something.

Boy, was I ever wrong. :roll: They've sat on my TL since I bought them and the meager 30 day return period has long since lapsed on them, so now I'm stuck with the two I decided to keep.:cry:

But that's a good thing, since I just traded in my day of launch copy of the game(kept the extras :D), so now if I wanna play the game again I can just crack open one of the sealed copies from the SE's.

Of course, with what it'd probably cost to ship one of these monsters(Priority Mail Flat Rate Box being the best option), I could never beat Gamecrazy's price on them.

Ahh well, you live and you learn....but if anyone wants a SE GTAIV and has Ghostbusters for PS3, lemme know....:D
 
If I wanna do the trade in for a PS3 version of Madden 10, can I trade in 3 PS3 games and 2 PS2 games? Or can I only trade in PS3 games ?

You should be able to trade your PS3 and PS2 games as long as they have trade-in value.

I'm surprised by the trade-in values in how you barely get any money. I didn't expect them to be that low.

Anyways, do any of you guys trade-in games? I don't see how the money they give you is justified.

only if there is a special going on, especially b1g1 50% off...i traded in because of the extra 20% trade boost for Batman: AA
 
It's not the quality of the game, its how many have flooded into the market. Agreed that GoW is an excellent game, but it's a greatest hits game.
 
I never even ask what their trade in prices are any more cause they're always basically the same or less than what Game Stop gives and GS is almost always running a trade in promotion.

On topic, I checked my local GC for any GTA IV SEs and to my suprise I found one lone SE sitting on the
shelf.......with no extra content....sealed disc only.....still for only 25 bucks tho! lol I passed...
 
The OP says that Lego: Batman is 9.99 but I called my local store (Palatine IL, on Dundee) and it is still 18.99.

Does anyone have confirmation on the OP's price drop in any other locations?

Well makes me glad I jumped on the gta deal. My timing is usually never that good. Even though the box condition was a little loopy
the regular game was fine and so considering the price everytkng
else was extra :D .
 
How much would I get in Trade in Value if I traded in Call of Duty World at War for the Xbox 360? I got a preorder down for Modern Warfare 2 Prestige and wanted to trade something in since it's expensive.

500 goozex points for FF, which in goozex dollars is about 25$, not real money but a good return never the less.

p.s you know they are giving an extra 5$ credit if you trade in I think 20$ of games this labor day weekend. Thats a nice bump by GC standards.

Well, to answer my own question, yes, the $5 extra was active on Friday. I ended up going back there and they gave me $5 cash to make up for it - not bad ;).

Also, I have gone to 2 other GC stores to trade things for the +$5 bonus and at none of the 3 did they know about the deal until I told them and they looked it up on the computer and printed it out. The last example happened late Sunday evening - so this promo, which runs from the 4th-8th had clearly not been promoted in the slightest as they didn't even bother printing the barcode for it at this store until I asked it about it on the 7th :roll:.

At my "home" store they didn't even bother to print the bar code and just added $5 to one of my trade-ins. That sucks a bit because it wipes out the MVP. If they do it properly using the bar code it stacks with the MVP (though I just noticed I also didn't get it on my last trade when they did scan the bar code - I guess it requires some amount of trickery on their part as only 1 out of 4 transactions did I get both the $5 and the MVP to stack).

Still, though, I got a pretty solid deal Sunday as I traded a couple of BBV games and got 3x the credit then spent $11.xx to get Star Wars Force Unleashed used for the PS3. Not bad, as I had been lamenting the fact that that game is stuck at $19.99 for the BBV sale (and thus does not qualify for the B1G1). Now it will probably drop next week and become eligible but oh well...

'splain please? I actually got my Elite from Gamecrazy when they first came out. What was this craziness of which you speak? I was a bit steamed that they required the purchase of an extended warranty - but hey, with my Elite already getting RRoD once and now being 2 1/2 years old I might actually get to make use of that warranty (if, as I was promised by one clerk, it adds a 4th year on top of MS coverage).
