I just checked and a couple (several) gamestops by me have new copies of ski doo for $5. So you can 100% confirm that Ski doo for the PS3 has a TIV of $15 (plus the additional $5?)?

I can confirm it too i traded one in today - 13.64 (non-MVP) so take in something else with it to make it 15$ and get the 5$ bump

i tried to do separate, multiple +5 transactions at one store but the cashier said that would really throw off his/her "numbers" and probably the store's "numbers" if I didn't buy anything (must be based on a In/Out inventory system). I offered to put down a preorder but that didn't work. she/he said something along the lines of that you can't screw the system like that.

so gc is now the new amazon? =).

and i found it weird that one store cashier admantantly refused to give me a giftcard claiming that trade-ins can't be converted into giftcards. its the first that i heard of this. i suspect he was clueless since i had to inform him about the promo. but he held his ground on the nongiftcard crap. according to him, the only way to get a giftcard is to pay for it in cash.

BS. You can buy a gift card at any time using your credit. So if worse comes to worse, you can just do the trade on your account and go back and get it later (only whole dollar amounts can go on the card though).

Which is all the more reason why I don't want to hear it from retail clerks. When I'm away from home and on a nice, relaxing, flipping run, it's the last thing I want to hear and it just might make me snap ;).

Just to be clear, though, each store account is separate. It isn't a central account with all your credit - you will have different amounts at every store you trade at, which is why I get it on gift cards whenever possible. Though I always have spare change credit at each store since you can only put whole dollar amounts on the gift cards ;).

LOL...wait..they give 18.75 for MHF:U credit? I went to the Woodinville Gamecrazy today and they had a copy of MHF:U for 17.99 for sale with MPV...that is so screwed.

It's worth noting that when you put credit on a gift card, you'll have to pay tax. So unlike the edge card where (at least in washington, the credit is untaxed) putting credit on a giftcard is the same as putting cash on it.

So if your moving credit around to buy a 60 dollar game, prepare to pay a 10% gratuity (rolls eyes.)
 
X-Blades for both 360 and PS3 is $18/$19.80

That's awesome as I actually have a PS3 copy I got cheap (one-off misprice so no point saying where). Blockbuster was only going to give me like $8 for it or some such nonsense. I think it's going to GC tomorrow!

Thanks for the info. I picked up three copies at $9.99 each and flipped them today. Turned $32 worth of BB gift cards into $69 worth of GC credit.

Not bad for my first flip ever.
 
I have a $5 RZ cert to use and I so rarely shop at BB so I might get one copy myself so I can unload that $5. This is a gamers club coupon thing then?
 
a good use for all this credit is beatles rock band ps3 for 49.99. thats way better than a gs 54 used. now i got to wait for some chump to trade it in.

i got too many ski-doo to try to unload before i can even tough xblades.
 
Picked up my 3 copies, now hopefully the damn trade value will be intact for me, as Chan.. had dropped to 8$ last night. But I did get them to split my transaction up into 3, to get the 5$ 3 times. Weird thing was one set (2 PS3 GTA's), netted me 10$ bonus. The clerk told me there was a glitch in the system if you traded two of the same game and used the promotion.

Hmmn... This does not bode well for the timeliness of info on the iPhone app because it still says $13.64/$15 for Onechanbara. Are you positive it just wasn't lower there because they had too many copies?

Estebon - Metal Slug 7 is $9/$9.90 according to the app.
 
Well, the GameCrazy I went to said that corporate controls the trade in price drops since I had 3 X-Blades and they were only allowing two of the same copy of a game per day. Got 24.80 in store credit for each (with $5 and mvp stacking). Will take in my third copy tomorrow and hope they weren't playing me.
 
Well corporate does control the pricing but that has nothing to do with trade 2 copies per day rule (which I believe Scorch said is the policy). But the values can be lower at a store if they have too many copies - the computer automatically adjusts the TIV down at that location only. I've seen this happen before and Scorch also mentioned this earlier. I just want to be sure on Onechanbara as if it really did drop then the iPhone app does not have the most up-to-date pricing which is a problem.

I ended up keeping Motorstorm & the Wii games since they would not get me up to another $15.

In case anyone was wondering, the guys at my store were more than willing to complete two trade ins so I received $10 extra credit. I haven't noticed anyone reporting on this yet. Based on how people describe the staff at some of their stores I wouldn't be surprised if the other stores placed a limit on how many $15 trades a person can do, but that was not the case at my store. I don't think I've ever seen the same person in my store twice but everyone that's ever been there has been really great.

How much do stand alones give for xblades? if its like 20 bucks (can you even use the mvp at the stand alones?) 10 dollar profit on 10 dollar spent is pretty good. That's more or less 50% off point cards.
 
my experience:

traded in x-blades. they wouldn't allow more than one trade in to get the additional $5 so i only was able to trade in the one copy. also they did not stack edge with the $5 additional trade in.

YMMY on the extra 5 with MVP...you can goto gamecrazy.com and print out the special offer page that shows the offer. Point out that the paragraph doesn't say "Doesn't stack with any other offer including mvp." the other two offers do. That was enough for me get the mvp added on a few times.

That Resistance is the original one. I checked the TIV for that on my friend's Iphone app and it said it would only get $4. So maybe the $4 is the GH version? Anyways, good deal on Resistance if you can find the original version.
 
I found 2 copies of ski doo and 2 copies of Metal slug 7. Paid 5+tax for ski doo at GS, and $5+tax at kmart for Metal Slug 7. Traded both in for $35. They did both edge plus $5 bonus. Sweet!!

From my experience, they seem to give the base TIV. Of course, the MVP card doesn't work and there's no promotion for trading it there, but the cost of gas makes it almost equal for me to just drop them off there.

The fact that the MVP card never seems to work with any promo or at hollywood video makes me scratch my head and wonder why I even have it to begin with..
