I wish I knew about X-Blades sooner, since I'm way low on cash and I picked up a bunch of shit from Sears(2 packs of PS2 memory cards, Vision Cam). Is it BOTH the PS3 and 360 versions or just the 360 one?

According to the coupon, just the 360 version.
 
I almost ran into a little bit of a problem today. The manager couldn't find the details of the extra $5 promo and although he knew it had to be at least $15, he thought it might have to be at least 3 games traded in. He decided to go ahead and give it to me, but the coupon wouldn't work in the system. He verified the dates & did some sort of manual override. Weird.

Wow - never even occured to me try Rock Rev. That $5 pricing with 50% off seems pretty standard as I have that here too (far from DMV ;)). I do have a DS version I snagged a week ago or so and it also gets $5/$5.50 so I can throw it into another trade if necessary. By the way, I will be in your area 2 weeks from now but will be so busy working I won't be able to do much but visit a Gamestop or two and maybe one Best Buy.

Odd that it wouldn't work automatically on that one as it is over $15 even without MVP.

Ski-Doo is only $4.99 new for the PS3 ($3.99 used if you can find it). It is the PS3 version everyone is trading. The 360 version doesn't show on the iPhone app at all so I'm not sure what the deal is there.

There are a lot of Fantastic Four games so I wish you were more specific. Rise of Silver Surfer gets an amazing $1 (before MVP ;) ) for both 360 and PS3, and $2 on the Wii. Go Wii!
 
I can across a coupon book that has some GC coupons. Most have expired by they do have a valid b2g1 and a extra 30% offer.

They gave it to those who bought madden. I was able to snag a coupon by telling them that I lost mine and wondered if they could give me another. Since I had the mvp card, they said sure.

So, this extra 30% on xblades would get you $23.40 cents. Basically, the 5 bucks.

So it doesn't have to end this tomorrow. Just go get some coupon books.

If you want to add a section for penny guides, then that'd be good, since this is the GC thread. Though we did cover this most recent drop and every one prior in the reduced price guide thread already.

But it never hurts to have the info in a couple different spots, in the event that some may not follow the guide thread but be following this one closely.

Thanks! I must've looked at the 360 version twice or something. I see a PS3 version not at my local store, but only 10 min away or so. So I'll go pick that up & take it with my other copy of X Blades to GC during halftime of the 2 Texas football games.
 
Hey guys, didn't the Iphone app used to check inventory of used games? I thought it did but it doesn't seem to anymore.
 
Just sold one copy of Ski Doo on eBay for $17. Fees are covered by extra shipping. My second copy is set to sell also. Profit for first flip: ~$22. Going to pick up 2-3 more Ski-Doos and 3 Xblades (hopefully).
 
Same prob here 62t, and I did one last night. They are supposedly doing it manually for me - waiting now!
 
Was taking 30 minutes to update the computer for the override and wife was gonna kill me... So had to leave. They called me now and it is working so I can go back after dinner - glad to get it done but what a freakin' hassle! Of course I opened them so glad to be rid of them.
 
I'm guessing that HWV and GC have different TIV's? If not, then I checked a bunch of games @ HWV round here today and TRU is giving more than HWV on trade on most of them cept for Saint's Row 2(weird cuz it was a $5 sale game), Iron Man and Ratchet & Clank for PS3.

If anyone wants the TIV's from TRU so they can compare to HWV/GC, lemme know.
 
Good luck getting a penny guide at Game Crazy. They'll stare at the screen for awhile and try to distract you then say the guide is on sale for $10.
 
I tried to trade in my cover artless Cranium Buk**** at GC, price matching BBV, but the CSR said it wasn't showing up in the system so he couldn't take it at all. I'm wondering if he wasn't spelling it right or something...
 
A GC connected to a HWV would not give me the extra $5 when I traded in X-Blades earlier today. He said it was a Labor Day sale only and it ended. He would not budge or even check online. I just took the $18 on a giftcard and left. This GC has always been shady..

I was doing a little comparing the other day and didn't find that much that was better at TRU. I'd like to see some examples of what you were talking about, in any case - especially if they are part of the BBV sale, though I may not make it to another BBV in time.

Well, I don't know if Vesperia was supposed to be a penny guide or not but I actually found one today and slipped it in with my trade-in. The girl scanned it and then stared at the screen for a second then went in the back to talk to someone else. I was hoping she wouldn't come back and say they couldn't sell it and secondly hoping that they didn't "correct" it to the tagged $19.99 as they do to me at GS when I try to buy penny guides. She said it was $4.99 and I was more than glad to pay that (vs a penny) given how rare it is. So, either it rang up a penny and the other guy told her to adjust it to the last sale price of $4.99 or it came up $4.99 and she was surprised because it was tagged $19.99 - don't know for sure, but I'm damn glad to have finally found one.

I got this today at both stores I went to but after pushing them on it they finally looked it up in the computer. As with just about every trade I've made with this so-called "promo" I had to bring it up or I wouldn't have gotten it. Some "promo" if they don't promote it, eh? GC is a very strange place sometimes. The only times I haven't had to mention it were my second or third trades with the regulars at my "home" store - and even them I had to tell about it the first time.

Oh yeah, to follow up my multiposts earlier (sorry, was on my iPhone then): after 30 minutes of the guy calling tech support and supposedly downloading a manual adjustment on that game I mentioned earlier, it still didn't work. My wife and kids were sitting in the car and had had more than enough by that point. So I told him I had to go but he said he'd call me if he figured it out. We went to dinner and to his credit he did call me back and say it was working now. He said the first tech rep didn't know how to do it and a second one allowed him to do it right away (without downloading a system update which takes 15-20 minutes). I went back after dinner and in 2 minutes got my $33 in credit. I'm not sure it was worth all the trouble but once I put that initial time in I'm glad I was able to stop by for the quick follow-up visit and get my credit.

By the way, the game was "The Chase: Felix Meets Felicity" for the DS which I picked up just yesterday at Fry's for $3.xx. The iPhone app said $13.64/$15 and I traded one last night with no problem. Then today it was out of the system. That has got to be a coincidence though as it was never mentioned on here and is a somewhat limited thing (being only cheap at Fry's and probably of limited availability even there - I've never even seen the game anywhere else).

I had thought someone said two copies of the same game got the $5 bonus applied to each one? Thus I was expecting $40 in credit but only got $33.64 (firdt copy without MVP at $13.84 + extra $5 and the second copy with MVP at $15). At least yesterday when I traded one I got them to apply the MVP first and got a cool $20 for it.

So, the thing is, I'm not sure if they fixed it system-wide or just did something for this store. I mean, it worked an hour later when I came back so maybe it is system-wide. It looks just like any other trade-in on my receipt and I see nothing indicating some sort of manual price adjustment. Scorch, can you check on that tomorrow or later? It is still a good find at Fry's even without the promo, though my store only had a few to begin with anyway. But I freaked out a bit when I was almost stuck with 2 open copies of that game - even my kids had no interest in it ;).

I was told that the coupon expired today morning....he was so sure and was trying to convince me that he checks every single coupon in the morning and it expired.......so i showed him his website's page which clearly said offer valid through Sept 13th...he pretended to call someone and then just gave me the credit........it's idiotic when the clerk decides to override their companies advertisement

Some dude wouldn't put my credit on a gc. So I bought NSMB for the Ds, and will return it to get my credit back on a gc.

I looked at 5 stores for tales of Vesperia. No dice. I should have bought it 3 weeks ago when I found it. Sucks.

you could also have left it on your account. then come back, hopefully when the asshole isn't working, and ask for a gc. i had the same problem and followed someone else's advice and it worked.

mrman - good call on bringing the printout. im been lucky enough to have cashiers have the printouts (even when they don't know about the promo).

I been working for Game Crazy for the past couple of weeks now...

When I saw the price drops for the SG I jumped on it, picked me up Crisis Core: FF7 and Final Fantasy XII guides for only 2 cents!

Great deal, I just think they do this to clear their guides out that been overstocked for so long, I heard after awhile they do destroy them so I would act on it.

I would love to find the Tales of Vesperia one :(

Also I said I was gonna flip around 2 days ago but coudnt. Now im planning to do it over the weekend but fear TIV will go donw for xblades/skidoo.

You were supposed to get that coupon book if you purchased Madden 2010. That's what these coupon books are for. YMMV if you ask, but it was a "gift" when you purchased Madden.

I just told them that I had bought one before signing up for mvp, and in the process, lost my coupon book. One store had them right behind the counter, and they gave me one. Hoping to get a couple more.

The Chase: Felix Meets Felicity is still showing as $13.64/$15 on the iPhone app. If some brave soul wants to ask about it in store it would be interesting to see if it has been fixed from the $0.00 value it had on Sunday. Or maybe Scorch could just look it up next time he's working and save other CAGs the embarassment ;). I'd just like to know how in sync the iPhone app is with their actual trade-in values. I did notice that they advertize the app on the Gamecrazy page now and make a big deal about being able to save your list of trade-ins and have them update each day - so that implies at least daily updates of the TIVs. With that game still showing $13.64 I wonder if the $0.00 in store wasn't a one-day glitch.

my gamecrazy today told me i could not trade more than 2 of the same game ever. even on different days... feels somehow wrong but maybe theyre just tired of my x-blades?
