by the way, gamecrazy's are still having gta 4 limited edition xbox 360 so check ya local stores. I managed to pick 1 up yesterday for $24.99+tax and I had store credit so I bought it with that. It had a little tear but it was in tact and had everything. Any way to track down if a specific gamecrazy has a certain strategy guide available? Since they are being @ 0.01 pennied out? I'd like to get a few (gears of war 2 mainly).

Mic bundles are taken. Guitar ones are not. Microphones are not required to trade in Lips, for example.

Eye of Judgement gets $0, Eye of Judgment w/ camera gets $0, and there's no entry at all for the PS3 camera in the POS so GC doesn't even take it back in. Yet.

@darkasian ODST doesn't have a collector's edition. There is that stupid game/controller bundle, but that's all.

If FNR4 is still $40 by then, this deal would make it about $30. Pretty good use for half my credit from a couple X-Blades trades, imo.

FNR4 is $44.99 used, $40.49 with MVP. It'll probably be lower by then, yes, but good luck finding it - we had at least seven used copies, and when the patch to use the button controls came out, every single copy was sold.

Bullet Witch isn't much. Wireless Controllers are around $20 in store credit.. somewhere in the neighborhood of $18 to $20. I know it's $16 cash, which is 20% less of $20, so it's probably $20.xx.

Penny guides are meant to be destroyed so it's very unlikely that you'll get someone to send a penny guide to another store, and even less likely that you'll actually get it sold to you for a penny.
 
Hey Scorch, do they still give out 12-month rental sheets with system purchases? I might be in the market for a few DSi's for Christmas and if they still offer those sheets that might be the deciding factor in my choosing GC. It would be a good use of all this credit I've built up recently too.

I made the mistake of finally opening my DSi and the kids got a hold of it. Now they all want one :rofl:.

Sorry, lukewin, I don't get the Gamecube Mario Party games showing up at all - only MP8 and Mario Party DS. Same thing with Mario Superstar Baseball. Maybe Scorch can look those up for you when he's at work.

Just as a sanity check I looked up "Sunshine" and they don't even have Mario Sunshine in there. I guess the app doesn't give gamecube pricing. (No Smash Bros or Animal Crossing either).

Thanks for trying io. I am going to get an Iphone when my current contract is up in October, so I'll give you a hand with the quotes. I actually tried the app out on my brother's iphone, and it was probably what finally made me make the decision to get it. Wasn't sure about paying an extra $30 a month, but I know I would use the internet and stuff, which would make it worth it. I'll just ask at GC on my next stop.

Well, I'm a lucky bastard because I got mine paid for by my company. Even people I travel with for work who have been around way longer than me are surprised by that. I just asked the IT people and they gave it to me :shock:. (I figured it wasn't a big stretch because we use AT&T anyway and I know the bills on the crappy 5 year-old phone I had before were like $80 a month for something I barely used).

But yeah, it has been indispensable on flipping runs. It has saved me money (via being able to avoid some flops) as well as made me money (by letting me look up GC prices for games I would have never bothered with in the past, and by letting me check on sale prices of games at GS, for example to make a good guess if they would trade for over $2). But most importantly it has saved me time and hassle (not having to go back to stores multiple times because I missed something on CAG, not having to call as much for trade-in values, etc). If I was paying for it myself I'm not sure how it would balance out - though if for some reason they took this one away I'd probably have to pay up since I'm dependent on it now.

Does anyone know if Game Crazy takes 360 headsets as trade-ins? If so, how much would that get me?

I've got an extra Vision bundle from Sears. If I just traded in the camera I'd already come out $10 ahead, but I don't really need the third headset, either.

The alternative is trading it here, but if Game Crazy gives me that much it might not be worth it. :whistle2:k

I asked two days ago and the manager told me no. I got the "hygiene issue" explanation. Mine was brand new, also from a vision cam which I purchased (to keep) but I had no use for the headset.

What I meant buy that (and I'm giving more detail that you probably need J7 so that others know what I'm talking about) is that I was at a Blockbuster on the very last evening of the B1G1 sale and wanted to get a few things that would qualify for the $20 bonus promo at Gamestop. They need to trade in for more than $2 for that. So I used the web browser on the iPhone to look up the used sale prices at GS knowing that anything they sell for $17.99 or more is likely to have a trade-in value over $2. Given that it was the last night of the BBV sale and you really can't return stuff there once you buy it I was trying to maximize my purchases while minimizing potential loses (ie, getting stuck with junk). The iPhone was critical in doing that. Without it I would have skipped a whole second set of 4 games because I would have had no idea if they were good to trade at GS. On example: I picked up Coraline because GS sells it dfor $19.99 used (and it ended up trading for $5). Of course, I was also browsing jp's GS trade-in value thread but for anything without a recent date I was using the GS used selling price method.

Mario Party 6 trades for $5.50 and Mario Superstar Baseball trades for $4. Held on to them, even though I got them both at HWV for $5 each. They don't have the manuals and have the HWV rental cases (cover art front, instructions on back). Gonna give Mario Party 7 to a friend. Most of my friends already have MP6, b/c I loaded up on them back when CC first had them on clearance for $16.96. Thanks for the effort anyways guys.
 
Cash options are a bit..odd. Its not a set percentage but the values I received were around 70-80% of the credit value. And I would have chosen credit, but GC is a bit out of the way for me, and I only traded there knowing I would be in the area and that I would get a better value than GS.

LoZ: Phantom Hourglass DS held its value, while I was offered 8.33 credit for Loco Roco 2 PSP

The cash value for an XBlades trade in was $14 while the credit option was $18, which is 78%. I guess they'll round the cash values to a whole dollar and eliminate the need for lots of change.

Can you please point me to a link or tell me what does that 12-month rental sheet mean?

I read on GC website that they offer 12 free rentals from hollywood with system purchase..is that what you are referring to?

Also, does GameCrazy price match online retailers like Dell/Amazon (with / without coupon code)?

Well, I got 6.67 for Loco Roco 2 in cash so Im not completely sure about that theory.

That sounds like a good price to pick, when you first mentioned that (smart btw!) strategy I guessed $20 without really thinking about it, but probably close to 8-9 times the value they would pay for it seems like enough!

Yes it is 12 free rentals with any console purchase new or used. Don't know about the PM.
 
Finally decided to dump some of the X Blades games I got from BestBuy got 99 dollars for five game, with MVP.

Bought Batman for the PS3 used, left $54.00 dollars credit on the card, still deciding if getting Mini Ninjas or Marvel Ultimate 2, I think I will wait for MW2 instead.

Well, I just got cash for my trade ins today, but that particular GC probably wants the trade in credit to stay in store to be spent. Try going to another GC in your area and see what happens.

Two days ago or so Amazon's trade in of the day was Xbox 360 Phantasy Star Universe. Traded in for $22 and sold at GC for $9.99/$8.99 used.

Other than that, you can almost do a 1:1 with Left 4 Dead on Amazon. I haven't been to work in a couple of days, but at least as of Sunday, Left 4 Dead sold used for $24.99/$22.49 and today trades into Amazon for $21.25. Also, Star Wars: Force Unleashed I think still sells for $12.99/$11.69 used (I believe on both PS3 and 360) and trades into Amazon for $9 for 360 version and $13.75 for PS3 version.

Oh that's perfect, since there should be an abundant supply of L4D and moving $63.75 at once works great.

Bah, thwarted by Amazon since it's a limited trade-in and you can't make multiple trade manifests.
 
What are the chances they'll actually have any of those classic systems? Last time I went I only saw this gen, last gen, and old gameboys.
 
You never know unless you try. I know of several stores in my area that have N64's.. granted, they're not in the used system case, but they're in the back. Try asking around.

For those curious about the Nomad, I did a blanket search throughout the entire company, and only one store has it - a GameZone store in New Hampshire. Dunno if the $9.99 sale applies to GZ stores or not, though.

As for me, my store has 5 GBA SP's.. but sorry, they're all pink :( We had an NES one not too long ago, too! Oh well.
