Im still waiting to see him fly. The whole jumping into a nuclear rocket was close but It was a high jump not flight. Plus whats weird is that they never showed how he landed
Didn't he technically fly when went to the plane that Lex was on?
Didn't he technically fly when went to the plane that Lex was on?
He did but he was infected by red kryptonite at the time. He has never flown as regular clark, unless you count when he was sleeping in earlier seasons and he was floating above the bed.

well there was the time with the Tornado when he said he willed himself in the air to get to Lana, I would believe that is a precursor for flying.

Was he red kryp'ed of "Jor-El'ized"?
Was he red kryp'ed of "Jor-El'ized"?
youre right it was Jor-El'ized because thats when he went after the stone lex had.
Why not? He dies in the comics.

As for Pete, yeah I wish he'd come back for at least an episode.
Jonathan died in the movies. He's still alive & well in the comics... though w/ the current storyline involving Hypertime, that might be retroactively negated.

The comics go in so many directions I get confused :( You sure he didn't die in the comics? :whistle2:/

Yup, I'm sure. I don't know if you're familiar w/ the old comic storyline Crisis of Infinite Earths. It involved multiple alternative versions of the major DC characters. There were several Supermen and I'm sure Jonathan died in at least one of those dimensions but when the Crisis was over, only one dimension 'survived' and was retroactively made the main storyline to streamline a lot of inconsistencies due to alternative versions of the same character. The current Infinite Crisis is hinting at retconning the events of Crisis of Infinite Earths by reintroducing the multiple dimensions so who knows what'll end up happening?

Whoo wow that went way over my head.

I just don't want Chloe to die. In my opinion she's had such a crappy part to play: she didn't get Clark (or any guy for that matter), and I dunno I always feel bad for her... killing her off would be suckage...
I'd be amazed if I could get the thing to load in the first place (not a shot at your post, but more an annoyance that I can't open it and see what it's all about).
Try viewing it in Firefox (if you're not already using it) and then go to

Tools > Page Info > Media tab

Scroll down the list until you find an avi (it's most likely this). Then

Save As whatever/wherever you want and then view it.

If you still can't get the Combined Community Codec Pack as you're probably missing a codec or two.

EDIT: FWTW, the fight isn't THAT spectacular. It's just clark and a;ldkfja fighting in super speed mode.

You must be the expert in Firefox or something. Everytime there's something up with FF, I always seem to see you post. Thanks. Good to know in the future.

Oh, and I'm guessing there's not a glimpse of Ms. Kreuk, so amazing is downgraded to meh.

Yea sorry about that, i guess you need all the codecs or something. It took a while to load for too, but you once you load it up once, it shouldnt have any problems loading again, unless you restart your computer.

Also that fight scene was one of the best, i just wish the fight was longer. The whole thing reminded me of the superman movies. :)

No problem. It's funny though how I always forget that the show is on and the moment I switch to it, it's at some really weird scene. Last episode, I only caught the part when Clark's mom was flirting with him asking if he had a date for prom or something. I promptly changed the channel. How disturbing.

yea i didnt watch that one , i seen it the first time around, but i wasnt in the mood to see it again lol. I say that episode and the vampire one and this christmas one and the witch epsiode was worst ones ever. I know they like to throw in some fun, but enough is enough hahaah. Other then that, season 5 has been cool and i hope they bring back james masters, which i think they are suppose. He is sign on for 10 epsiodes, so when he comes back, get ready for more action.

She was posed by a girl from his school who had just died before prom. The girl could switch from person to person so that is why you came upon this scene from that episode.

Yeah, I figured it was some witchcraft like that. That was really disturbing though seeing that woman tease with her hair and flirt. Yuck. I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face if I were in the scene with her.

Today's episode was very good in my opinion. I'm beginning to put my bet on Jonathan as the one who dies, though I'm not sure. It is clear that Lex's transition is indeed in full effect, especially after misinterpreting his strange dream.

Did anybody understand the "Smallville Movie" for next week's episode? It looked like a bunch of short clips from previous episodes. Anybody else?

"The "movie event" advertised at the end of the Dec. 8 Smallville. is for a special two hours on Thursday, December 15. On that night, the WB is showing a combined airing of the fourth season finale, "Commencement," followed by the fifth season premiere, "Arrival.""

I thought Santa was over-the-top...But...then I considered - If you're going in a world where Superman exists, why couldn't Santa also exist? I have a group of friends who all watch the show on my Tivo, and we were all grateful they didn't have Santa fly by at the end when the Kent party went outside to look at the stars. I respect the writers for giving a wink/nod/elbow with Santa, while showing restraint and not going overboard at the end.

So, back to my prior post, did anybody see the preview for next week's episode and understand it?

Edit: Thanks Moxio for the answer while I was writing.

I guess with Christmas you have to touch up a bit on Santa, though I was glad they didn't go all fuzzy on him (a drunkard? I thought that was pretty funny).

Though I feel kinda lame when I actually felt somewhat sad when Lana died in the dream.

I've been feeling sad for Lex this whole time. I want him to be a good guy. Michael what'shisname plays that character marvelously. If I knew nothing about Superman, I would be rooting for Lex to pull through every episode and reject the darkside before the series ends.

I agree, I kinda want Lex to pull through and realize his good potential at the end, but alas it is not meant to be. I think there were prob be one or two more spots where he has to make a major moral decision that will ultimately push him into the dark

Jonathan I believe is dead in the film so it would work if they killed him off in the show. I am sick of him anyway, he gets angry at clark, clark brudes, clark makes a decision, jonathan tells him he made the right choice and puts his hand on his shoulder. They must have ended like a quarter of the eps with that ending.

Agreed on Lex. As for Jonathan, I'm sorry, I just like way too much about that character.

First of all, Jonathan in Smallville is one of the few Father Figures who is truly a positive role model on TV today. Sure, you've got Bernie Mac (I'm just now getting into that show because the syndicated reruns come on after 10 here - I'm assuming the show's still going on) and until recently Ray Ramono being goofy/lovable, but for the most part the Father figure on TV serves the role of domineering jerk who needs to be overcome or taught a lesson by the protagonist son/daughter, the immoral anything goes joker who still thinks he's in high school or college, or the ignorany moron who has no idea what his kids are doing. The fact that Jonathan plays the role of a father who, while not perfect, always has his son's best interest in mind and conducts himself in a manner that commands the respect a father deserves (from Clark and from his friends) makes him one of my favorite characters to root for on TV.

Putting ALL that aside, it's Bo Duke. And while there are few things I blindly hold on to from my childhood I'm sorry - the Dukes are gold in my book from now until the day I die. Always, always, always I root for any Duke who shows up on my TV. The fact that "Bo" chose a roll that I hold in such high esteem is the marvelous icing on the cake for this character. Had "Bo and Luke" so much as jumped over a hampster in the "Dukes reunion" on Smallville a few weeks ago, I just might have never watched TV again (why even bother?) :)

Sorry, I know I'm way overboard on this, but I really like Smallville and the Dukes, and it's just almost too good to be true that their paths keep crossing.

100th episode is on now

Lana just got killed by a Drunk Lex driving another car.

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

That girl is sooo fucking hot

now they are going back on it all

most pivital episode in 5 seasons

the show won't be the same

But at least they had the Dukes of Hazard reuinion episode earlier this season

I think Lana dying was better. I'm so tired of her dynamic with clark. And the whole reveal your secret but whoops the day is rewound so she is still in the dark is irritating as hell. That last scene was poignant though well shot and acted. I just felt lana dying would have given thje show the right kind of boost
I can't fucking believe it they actually stayed true to the comic for once.
They only stay true to the comic because, I guess, Smallville is protraying "Silver Age" Superman where supposely that Superboy met Lex Luthor in Smallville and Kents died before Clark left Smallville. In "Bronze Age", you know the Superman that died in 1994 and supposely the same one right now, the Kents are still alive. Even went through Our Worlds At Wars.

But I do not think they really stay true to comics, probably only this episode. I think Smallville created another timeline by itself. Because Bart Allen should not exist this early.

Got to say, I do not like this episode one bit. They could have kill Chloe you know. :bomb: I hate how the show goes downhill after like second season, at least for me.

I can't believe it...Right as it returned from the last commercial break...My housing had a fucking fire drill. So I missed the entire last 10 minutes, which sounded like the best part of the episode. >_

I was doing something else while watching the episode so when Lois was passed out with a puddle on the floor with what appeared to be a toaster right next to it on "take two" of the day, was that just completely random or was that bit set up somewhere else in the episode?

What had happened to her to make her pass out? (And why was there water running?) My cell phone started ringing at that exact time in the show, and I didn't hear what they said.

They didn't explain what made her pass out, in fact they didn't even explain how clark knew she was in trouble. Anyway, the second half of that episode was too much like watching a Final Destination movie. I did like the reference to Superman 1 Movie about spinning the earth's axis to turn back time. Anyway, the episode would have better if it ended halfway through it but oh well I guess they need to keep it similar to the original story.

:applause: I agree, espically about the last scene.

He knew she was in trouble cause he had already lived the day and in the first day, she came out immediately after it was announced Jonathan won. The second time, when she didn't show up right after that, Clark went up and found her like that.

She fell because when Lana was there after being proposed to and happy and hanging around, she walked behind lois and kept her from falling off the stool when she was climbing to reach the junk food. Since she didnt hang around after the 2nd round, nobody was there to keep her from falling. So Lois fell and went boom on the floor.

I love this show. Its the best show on TV. I look forward to it every week. Lost needs to take notes on how to tie up loose ends and introduce new ones, rather than only introducing new ones.

Wow, I didnt catch that. Good call.

Its kind of sad that his dad doesnt get to see him in the superman outfit. Isnt his dad around in the original comics for a while, while he's superman?
