a future episode spoiler....

on tvguide's website, there was mention, I don't remeber if it was the finale, or just a future episode but....Louis and 1 other unamed cast regular are going to be trapped on a plane, I would imagine clark would need to do the rescuing  below is the exact question and anwer

Question: Will we be seeing Zod or Jor-El this season on Smallville? — Eddie
Ausiello: Yes, they'll both pop up in the season finale — but they won't be who we think they are. And here's another finale superscoop: Lois and another major character will end up on an airplane that's locked in autopilot — and there's only one person who knows where it's headed. (Hint: He looks like a platinum-topped vampire we once knew and loved.)

Sweet, maybe Clark will actually learn he can fly before the season ends.

Wasn't the entire premise of the series, No cap/tights and no flying, under normal circumstances.

I believe it was no cape, no tights, and no arms extended when flying...

more updates on the season finale

Question: Any chance Al Gough will drop his reluctance to let Clark fly on Smallville? — Sean P.
Ausiello: Let me say this: If the finale ends the way they have it planned now, next season could see a whole world of change for our wonder boy.

I'm actually hoping to see him fly. I never heard that they didnt want him in costume or to fly. I wouldnt mind seeing him as Superman, since Smallville is my only fix. The Superman Return movie looks horrendous, hate the actors and the art design they're going for and hate the fact that it looks like the Christopher Reeve movies.

I've been wanting him to learn to fly since he hovered over his bed....

(And I can already picture them playing Five For Fighting's --- Superman (It's Not Easy) while he's doing it.)

Tonight's episode was pretty good...

...because Clark saw his dad, Lex learned more about his impending future, and Clark knows Lionel knows everything.

Next week's episode looks even better because...

...from the looks of it, Lana and Lex are getting together, and Clark and Martha will have one big confrontation with Lionel.

I agree tonight was a good episode....

I dont know about you guys but cracked out Lana is super yummi hot like a skank. They need to make her look like that more often:drool:

Tonight moved the story along....a lot was touched upon, I'm still waiting for another DC cameo though....Green Lantern I heard maybe?
Is there a DC villian that can manipulate glass that I dont know of?

Or is this a madeup smallville crap villian?
Nah, she was just given her powers by the meteors.

I didn't think the episode was very good tonight. The acting seemed kind of...I dunno, off. Maybe it was a placebo effect, since I knew it was Tom Welling's first time directing an episode. *shrugs*

my thoughts exactly. although how much free reign could they possibly have given him over the directing his first time. And he couldn't have written the episode. That makes it all even worse. Was it the gay story or gay directing? Or do we all just want episodes that move the story along which we cannot alwways have every week and have to understand that. Same with "LOST" on ABC. It's X-files all over again. More questions raised than answered.

Question: You mentioned before that Lois was gonna be trapped on a plane with someone else in the Smallville finale. Any clue as to who's on the plane with her? — Michael
Ausiello: *a****. See how much fun this is?

I'm sure you are right, especially since...

Martha just gave Lois a job working for her. They'll probably be traveling on business together.

If I rember correctly, from previous snipets about it

the plane was headed to south america, and was sent there by Professor Fine, aka Brainiac (might have been lex, but it had something to do with brainiac)....the plane is on autopilot with only the louis and I believe martha aboard. If I rember correctly it was set to land in the middle of nowhere/destruction...it was on tv guide over a month ago, so I don't remeber the specifics.

Yea obvious Saw ripoff but one good thing came of the episode. No more pussin around with what Lionel knows and them knowing that he knows it. Although Martha is now gonna sweat his nuts
can anyone name that video game?????
She was playing one of the Dynasty Warriors. I've played those games enough to recognize the generic general name of Yue Ying.

I'm fairly sure it was 5. Though it could have been 5: Xtreme Legends or 5 Empires. Though I'm fairly sure it was just 5. And yeah, that controller was crazy generic.

 I noticed the controller too. Also, Lois held the controller (and pushed the buttons) like a crazy person.

The episode tonight wasn't bad. Not the greatest, but still good.

Next week's episode looks interesting, and it looks like it will further the story a bit more.
clark said in the preview "Zod is coming", are they trying to say prof Fine is Zod? I thought he was Braniac?
I'm fairly sure Fine is not Zod. From what I can gather, he's just trying to bring Zod back.

Well, Fine wanted Clark to put the dark crystal into the Fortress of Solitude to bring forth Zod, so that would make it sound/seem like Zod and Fine are two different people. That's how I take it.

Why didn't Clark use xray vision to see a(the) chameleon? And another question Linonel has known about Clark's super powers since they changed bodies with that stone last season. Why the big deal know?

Lionel had memory loss after swapping back during that episode.

Zod and Brainiace aka Prof. Fine are indeed two sep. people.
If anyone isn't watching you could be missing the best episode of the season thus far.
I wish I were watching it, but the Pacers/Nets game apparently takes precident over TV shows. I'll have to wait until 10 to watch it, hopefully sooner. Or I'll have to watch it tomorrow night.

wow season finale already next week, thought we at least had 1 more episode. It just doesn't seem like they were promoting the ending of the season enough this year, or having a big 3 episode lead in and promoting that like they have in the past. Looks like the Clark/Lex Charade might finally be over next week. And I hope they choose a bad ass actor for Zod. The "Euro trash" like Zod from the movies was a smarmy greasy fool but did the trick and you loved to hate him. Well what do ya think, best ep of the season thus far? Or was the 100th ep this season better?

The irony in this is that the voice of Jor-El, is the actor who played Zod in the movie. I wonder if this is how they are going to bring Dean Cain into the series (as Zod) or has he already shown up this year? (missed all but 3 episodes so far (premiere, 100th, and tonights (maybe a few more, but still)).

And I think that the 100th episode was the best of the few I've seen. Though it was obvious who the death was going to be between (Jonathon, Lionel, and Chloe; the latter 2 are fictitious from the Superman world, if I recall correctly) and they did that so well.
Gene Hackman is Zod.
I was wondering if they'd ever get him to be a part of Smallville. Seems like everyone else has, so why not.

Added 5/4/06:
- TV Guide's May 8-14 issue revealed some major details about the episode's cliffhangers:"Last season went out with a bang, thanks to the spaceship crash and a meteor shower that still has fans talking. This year goes out with more of a scream, as in "Ohmigod, what just happened to Clark?!" We'd tell you, but that would ruin the fun of spending the summer wondering how Lois and Martha will survive a runaway flight and why Lana can't see that Lex just isn't himself these days."

I hope they show a bigger and longer display of powers than we have seen in the past .
And im realy suprised theres not a bigger superman movie tie in with this show the premire of the teaser got a lil buzz but why not the full trailer? Why not a special clip from the movie or something?

notice how clark always wear the red jacket. This episode they got the jacket and the deep blue t shirt. Superman colors. To show he's becoming Superman more and more.

Ok having Lex as Zod was a ripoff. I would have liked another actor but I guess it could work.

I was sooo dissapointed when at the end I thought Lex was gonna say to Lana on top of the building "Kneel before Zod".....I would have luved that shit.

Oh and who else thinks next season Clark will return to earth as Superman to defeat Zod and save humanity??

Also the repeat episode after the finale is Aquaman for a reason....I will reserve my urge for making an Aquaman Rules topic until I see the series opener in the fall. Yes it will get picked up for a series especially after the success of Smallville and the perfect timing after the Summer movie event of the year.

Dude, spoilers around that stuff. Not everyone is in a time zone that has seen the episode.

And yeah its weak to have that be the case. What are they going to do when Clark fights and banishes him? Or is that going to be that way to keep the show running? Having Lex alternate between himself and Zod? Kind of a weak idea, but I don't want this show to end any time soon, or on a sour note.
I don't think he will. He's only 18 or 19 in the show, and the only proper way to do it is ending the series with it.
