I watched last week's and this week's episode tonight (Tivo). I couldn't have been more blown away by the Dukes reunion, and the references that kept coming up (I believe Tom says something like "Well you're just a good ole' boy, aren't you?"). I really, REALLY wanted them to jump something in that car of his. I know it would been difficult to incorporate without being lame, but still - I rarely have "nerd" moments during TV/Movies (Clapping, etc. during movies, as though the actors can actually hear you from their posh mansions in Beverly Hills as you're cheering in a movie theater in Houston). However, had they found a creek to jump I swear I would have lept from my sofa and cheered the greatest show ever made.
I thought the stripclub was pointless - trying WAY too hard (pun intended) to get a little "adult" thrown into the script. Felt contrived to me. The rest was pretty good. As for tonight's, I thought it was good, but if they're going to go anywhere with this Fine guy I'd like them to give us a little more develpment of the character. I don't care whether he's "good" or "bad" in the end, just give us something other than complete and utter mystery. Give us a "good" guy who surprises us by being evil at the end of the season, or give us a "bad" guy who has everyone fooled. But give us something.
Speaking of being a nerd - one of the funniest "nerd" moments I have heard was from my roommates in college. They went to see Star Trek: Nemesis (without me!). They hated it, by the way, but said the highlight was the Trekkies who showed up and added (unintentionally) their own form of entertainment the film. The best being a seemingly unimportant line in the movie where one of the characters said they were going to have to walk to Floor 9 (or something like that) but from behind they hear the snickers of the Star Trek educated accompanied by "Gonna be a long walk". Then more laughter (Not sarcastic laughter, more like "I know that ship inside and out and they don't know what they're in for" laughing). My buddies were rolling, but obviously not for the same reasons
It's late, I'm going to bed.
