Spock's Star Trek topic
Ten years ago today, possibly the best Star Trek movie was released in theaters - Star Trek: First Contact.
Yep. I just bought Generations, First Contact, and Insurrection on DVD today. They had B2G1 free deal at RePlay games.
Jolene Blalock lost too much weight between season 3 and season 4 :puke:

Who am I kidding? I'd still hit it.

I guess I am going to trade in my VHS copies of Insurrection and Generations to the flea market. I'm pretty sure most people here already have the DVD versions.

I'm going to trade a couple other VHS sci-fi movies too, Independence Day and Event Horizon.

I was really disappointed by the lack of Frakes' commentary on Insurrection, I would have liked to hear what he had to say about it (supposedly he wasn't thrilled with the script). I also wanted Patrick Stewart commentary on all the movies, since he is the star and has tons of input.

DS9 is back on Spike! Guess I'm not the only one working through the run this go round. (Anyone else watching them for the first time?) Since they went down to just 1 epi a day I think it's about 2 months from completing the run.

I'm also watching the Original Series on TVLand. Started last Monday and they are showing them in order (at least so far) at 11PM and repeated at 6AM every day. I've probably only seen a handful of those up until now.

Then Spike is going to start showing Voyager. I think that begins in December. Given that they run both DS9 and TNG in order, I assume they'll do the same with Voyager. Awesome. I haven't seen a single episode of that run IIRC.

And I even heard a channel is going to start airing Enterprise (the latest one) soon, but can't remember which.

Man i cant wait to start seeing voyager on TV again, it has been too long since i have seen those episodes. I thought it was an amazing series. As far as enterprise it had its ups and downs but it held its own.

Don't get HDNet, but interesting that it's being shown there. Are they only airing Season 4? (According to wikipedia 1-3 is SD and only S4 is 720p.)

Not sure, don't watch it myself. I see it on the channel guide pretty often. When it comes on again, I'll let you know.
Creating shitty Star Trek Miis is tons of fun!
One of the Miis that came with my system looks like Sisko. I think his name is Mike or Matt or something like that.
I also have one that looks a lot like Adam from Mythbusters.

LeVar's response at the beginning about Nemesis is priceless.

I posted this in a few Wii threads, but I made Miis of the entire TNG crew, but really only Picard, Riker, and Worf look good, PM me if you want them.

I might be interested to see your Worf, since he's the only one that I thought looked good out of the ones I made. I made Data, Picard, Worf, and Sisko. I'll let you know.
Anyone know what season TNG is on spike right now?
It's either the end of 5 or the beginning of 6.
I thought they did. DS9 does
I can't tell anymore. They did with DS9 when it was the two hour block. After the cycle finished a couple months ago, it seemed to jump around. Who knows.

Hopefully Voyager will be in order. That way, I can know when to stop paying attention.

DS9 still is, I've been DVRing it. I'm still a week or two behind, but it's been in order since it switched to once a day.

Worked from home today. Had TNG on in the background. They're on Season 7: Gambit was first, then Phantasms--if they're not exactly in order, they're damn close.

Gambit was good for a laugh to see JLP the Archeology Rogue and Data & Worf's awkwardly constructed "friend" dialogue. Phantasms wasn't that hot, but I did enjoy Worf digging into that cellular peptide cake with mint frosting. Don't get between a Klingon and his cake.

I guess they jump around and show them in order (sometimes). I swear that Best of Both Worlds I & II come on at least every other week.

DS9 is definitely shown in order though. I have no clue why they take on episode off to show "Worlds Scariest Police Chases" once more per day.

I also get messed up with G4's episodes as well. They played Future Imperfect last night, which was ok.

I like future tense and time travel, but that kid was annoying.

Some First Contact interviews.

Holy crap dudes...

Check this out...amazing Picard/Locutus music video.

Holy shit! That was an awesome video!

And Kaijufan, I'm not looking forward to the series finale, but I absolutely have to watch it; at least just to see why it's so horrible. Then I can throw it the pile of "stuff I don't want to acknowledge." I'm sure it will fit in nicely with Nemesis.

Well I just watched the Enterprise series finale, I can't say that I hated it, but it was certainly disappointing.

The only things I really hated were:
Trip's pointless death, how no one seemed to care about it, and the lack of face time for everyone. Although I think those are everyone's major complaints about the episode.

I'm a couple of years late, but it was sad to see Enterprise (a show I really, really enjoyed) come to an end, as well as see what could be the end of Star Trek on TV for a long while. Very good series, season three was by far my favorite, although I enjoyed every season equally. I loved all the characters (Travis and Hoshi needed a bit more time), it was well written, and was just an overall fun show.

I only wish it could have aired for its entirety.

I hated Enterprise so I didn't really mind that the finale sucked. I thought it was funny that the final episode for the whole show basically took place between scenes of a single TNG episode. I have to admit, if I actually liked Enterprise, I'd be pissed off at that.

IIRC at least one of the Enterprise actors thought it was a disgrace.

I did a DVR Marathon the last 2 days on DS9 to catch up from pre-Thanksgiving. I LOVED today's show (Children of Time). With the ending:

I was completely fooled into thinking is was the other Dax as well. The Odo/Kira arguement at the end was a classic Trek discussion.

I watched Season 1 of Enterprise (as a huge Backula fan (see Avatar) and a huge TNG fan) and hated the show. My Dad would update me periodically about the show and I tuned in again for the finale, and even as a TNG fan I was disappointed. I couldn't even remember the episode they were referencing, and they (Riker/Troi) looked awful, even through my antenna-fuzzy reception.

I also was happy when they announced Bakula would be the captain, and it took me a while but a few years later I realized he sucked ass for that role.

Ya great Sam Beckett, awful captain.
Ya great Sam Beckett, awful captain.
Exactly, I think he's just good at playing the ordinary guy kind of role.

Really? I thought Bakula did a good job. I guess you're guaranteed to be in the minority if you like anything about Enterprise...

"Children of Time" is pretty good. I was almost sure it was the other Odo, but I was thinking that they'd just leave it up to be anyone's guess.

It was, that was the big twist.
Well it's finally almost time for a new thread, suggestions?
Star Trek Topic II--Real Captains Do It at Warp Speed
or
Star Trek Topic II--TOS Quandry: Take the eyeliner, leave the phaser?
or
Star Trek Topic II--OMG NAKED PICS OF TROI AND 7/9!!!@1

 I like the ideas, but I was thinking along the lines of something more traditional. Probably just a character (like Spock) or whatnot.

In that case, Picard would be a good one.
