Just looked at Game Crazy's new ad and noticed that they're advertising Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Fight Night Round 2 for Xbox for $19.99 brand new.

This is something that's probably a typo, but you could always see if you could get them for that price.

Just stopped in my local GC to get Jungle Beat and they had an explanation printed out that explained it was a typo. It is $19.99 for the original versions of those games and not the new ones.

The funny thing is, I noticed that I got the ad when I went home at lunch time, and I was wondering if there were any such errors, but I didn't have time to check it out. Worth a shot. I want Round 2.

called them about it but they said that they will not honor it because it is a mis print. they have a flier in the store stating it.
 
Hm. Good time to have a friend that works at GC. I'll go to Sears (if I can get an ad now) and get them to call GC for a PM.. hopefully it'll work..

So does Game Crazy have both the typo flier and the original ads in the store?

If they do, I'm going to pick one up and hope to PM somewhere... i doubt i will get it in the mail since i rarely get stuff from them.
 
Even if my Circuit City would PM, they'd call and see if it's in stock, and ask how much it is. I really wish I could get in on this action....

I was able to PM the Hollywood Video price error on the Seinfeld box sets. KOTORII at 19.99 isnt so far fetched, so it would be possible to PM this. Fight Night might not work out so well, as its brand new.

He must have switched right after that last Sears ad w/ Ratchet & Clank: UYA.
 
The thing is if you want a PM at CC all you have to do is go to a register away from Customer Service or wait till it is a lot of people in line so that the Cashier doesn't have a lot of time to waste trying to find out if the games are in stock at the other store. Most times if you can find someone working that hasn't been there long they won't take the time to call to confirm because they just want to sell you the product so that you can get out of the store happy and quickly.
 
How much is R&C:UYA? I can't see the price for some reason...if it's $20, is that the price they have it for?

Yeah, but R&C:UYA actually rang out at one Sears I went to on Sunday the 27th, so he wasn't out there like AC5, which didn't ring up at $4.99 ANYWHERE. There's the odd thing. :roll:

I'm sure Gamecrazy had some cash to burn, so they figured, "Hey, this guy designed ads for Sears, I'm sure he knows his stuff......" :rofl:

According to the other thread, it was advertised as $19.99 as well. (No idea if this is a misprint or not.)
 
i got this for $20 at launch at gamerush, it was in the coupon book that i got from the nov 9 halo 2 launch shindig at gameruch(trade in any 2 next gen games, get kotor 2 for $20-the credit from the games)

I don't get it - isn't it considered false advertising to print up an ad which has one price and then deny it when you get in the store?

I'm pretty sure if someone really had a hard-on to fight this it could be fought. Maybe a threat to the BBB or something.

No, legally they are not responsible for typo. However, they are trying to pass a law in California that store has to be responsible for typos.
 
I went today and demanded the customer service number, i called and complained and they called the store and told them to sell it to me! I got fight night round 2 and kotor 2 for 42.39 including tax, :D
 
Why doesn't anyone try to price match this at Wal-Mart?
I used to work there and know first hand they are a bunch of idiots.
I price matched a few items - PS2 controller, DVDs, etc - and they don't make any phone calls at all. They just give you the item at that price (only if it is pictured, which in this case it is).

For me, it's a case of:
1) Already own R&C:UYA.
2) Already own KOTOR II.
3) Not that enthused about Fight Night Round 2 to worry about taking the time to do it.
4) Not in the position with enough free time before vacation to do charity for other CAGs.

But, yes, WalMart is about as lax as it comes for PM's.

i was able to get a ratchet and clank for 19.99 at sears (after alot of arguing), they didnt have the other 2 games. I had trouble since there was the "Great values" thing above the game, and this idiot was trying to tell me it was some kind of one of a kind sale.

Yeah Ill take both games if possible too.....
All I really need is somebody to mail me the actual ad so I can go screw over Wal-Mart.
