Stardew Valley looks great. It is obviously Story of the Seasons inspired....still looks good esp for one person's work. I will get it sometime for sure.
Definitely is ! Dev said Harvest Moon: Back To Nature was the inspo, but it looks and plays more like the first Harvest Moon for SNES. Either way, both were the best of the series.

For The Division, is there any single player stuff you have to get through before you can jump into MP?
I think you have to unlock your hub/main building. Takes probably 15min

My only issue with The Division right now is the sound. They refused to fix it from the alpha...I have it at 5% and it still goes super loud randomly and has terrible echoes.

so who is planning to join me tonight for the division bro night event?
I'll probably be playing it late late tonight (west coast time) but not likely to make the 7 pm friday start. I'm Motiv7 on Uplay.

I'm curious if it'll have any similar qualities to Destiny where all end-game stuff or the best loot requires mostly group activities/events.

That new game from 3D Realms, Bombshell looks to be the second coming of Duke Nukem Forever. Can't believe they are charging $31 for that.

I said it months ago and looks like I was right, Division is going to bomb pretty hard. No texture settings at all and all you do is run in a empty city and shoot some bullet sponge guys. The "story missions" are pathetic too. I think I'm more hyped for Watch Dogs 2 lol.

Holy shit...you played the full release of The Division?! Show me how please.

I like how your opinion on a game means it's going to bomb...it's a TPS with MMO qualities. It will not "bomb" no matter what.

I played an early alpha of it on Xbox One like 3-4 months ago and it was in really rough shape. It's an empty world that's boring and the only thing that might be good is the pvp but I'm not paying for just pvp. The graphics are pretty crappy too. I used to play a whole bunch of Destiny and I can say people are just gonna stick to that instead for their shooter mmo.

I actually liked DNF. It wasn't challenging, the two-gun limit wasn't burdensome, and the story was just funny and 80's enough to make it all work. I also think it's both ludicrous and stupid to hate DNF for the alien mothership level filled with a bunch of alien mothers and ballsack creatures. It wasn't offensive; the aliens were using women for procreation, which is a basic necessity of life and the one thing women do that men can't. Should I go off on an equality tirade because men can't have babies now? People who were offended by something as obviously realistic and pragmatic as that need to grow their own ballsacks.

It's not marketed at $50-60, either. GTA V is all about violence, selling drugs, and objectifying women, but people love that shit. Duke Nukem adds light-hearted humor to the mix, and people hate it? Give me a break, hypocritical morans.

It looks 10x better on PC than on console. I do agree is fairly deserted in game; but that's the atmosphere they are looking for. It's a post epidemic event. You can't expect it to be thriving with population.

It's also the same exact area/missions you played in the alpha. Nothing much has been changed/added. Should never base a game soley on it's beta/alpha.

EDIT: also, on a side not for everyone. Ubisoft said they are giving "freebies" that are included with the Season Pass. I fail to see how something is considered a "freebie" when you have to pay for the SP???

I posted in a previous thread that I had 30-40 hours DNF.

The game was decent for $5 and nothing was wrong with it.
But now tell that to my friend who gifted me limited edition copy that was $80? at the time

To this day he keeps asking why did I play and beat the game.

Right? I can understand that it was overhyped after 11 years of development, but it wasn't a bad game. It just wasn't Halo, but most millennials who review video games didn't understand that it wasn't supposed to be Halo. Arcade FPS games still have a market, and this was true to its roots. The hotel lobby part with the Monster Truck was meh-sterD, but I generally liked the detail that went into small objects becoming large obstacles whenever you changed size.

the reason i started early, because i want to try and organize the bro night event, and get every together before starting the game. i will be playing probably till 11pm atleast. so i opt for the early time.

I was playing Undertale in genocide mode, got sick of losing a certain boss battle, so I started playing another game.

Which turned out to be Hatred.

I only noticed a pattern after I realized i'd gotten multiple achievements for killing people... help...

IndieGameStand has Toby: The Secret Mine (Steam) - $1

It looks like a more colorful Limbo... with a secret mine!

I'm kind of tempted to get it.

...but then again I'm kind of tempted to shake my fist at people that don't respond to my inquiries about their Nvidia RotTR vouchers.

Ran into some FPS hitches with Rise of the Tomb Raider which were definitely due to texture quality, but interestingly, the option "Exclusive Full Screen" under display gave me a 10-15 FPS jump in almost any setting situation. The hitches were giving me massive slowdows (into single digits) mostly during rendered cutscenes and transitions from one area to another.

I've had to downgrade textures from Very High to High, with a variety of other things toned up or down. I have DOF off. AA quality to FXAA, "Real Hair" or whatever its called is "on" and "Exclusive Full Screen" is on.  I'm getting a solid and steady 60 FPS with vsync on, but with that off it goes up to 80 in some places albeit with some tearing. Just about any other graphical setting with a leveling options is maxed except Shadow Quality which is at medium or high.

Also be sure to go to "marketplace" on the main menu to the "gifts" area, as you'll almost assuredly get a bunch of credits for owning some other Squeenix games. The credits are used to buy card packs for one of the other modes.

I'm running a GTX 970, FX-8350, Windows 10, 12 GB RAM, and am at 1080p.

Have you tried buying a new computer?
No - but I did install it on my gf's computer - with the exact same result. I have no idea how that is even possible (she has completely different hardware than I do). I'm done. I'm sure I'll play it at some point... maybe.

Edit: Well.. I just installed today's driver from NVIDIA (third times the charm I guess).. I now get past the opening logo animation and see the main menu. Of course - all the selections are grayed out.. but it's progress I suppose. lol :wall:

It kinda was. It's just not as horrible as everyone likes to say that it is.

I got a kick out of playing it because it was fascinating seeing how it was stitched together by Gearbox. You could see there were some good ideas there, but they just weren't executed well, and were about 10 years too late.

I'm glad I played it and I'll defend it from the blind hate, but it was not good.

I'll join in and admit I played and finished Duke Nukem Forever. It was a chore by the end but had some good moments.
I think DNF was more on-and-off than a light switch. When it was a blast, it was a freaking blast. When it was horrible, it was...really horrible.

DNF takes too long to get going - i.e. namely, once you leave the Casino. Repetitive missions (gas can mission - do it 3 times) & the strip club mission - WTH were they thinking? More so than anything else, the pacing was just....off. Graphics for their time - they were "meh," since the game came out way too late.

Cloned DLC was much better paced than the base-game was, though.

Only the shittiest of the shitty makes it to Poopees these days. I think it'll end up in a BundleStars bundle though!
Exactly. They've bundled all their games with them, including the super ultra expensive game pack with all their classic stuff, so it'll show up there sooner or later.

bro night event update of the division beta, no1 came, i started the event on 9pm, played 10:15 pm. very boring playing alone. it felt like i was playing gears of wars in a snowy setting.i will not be preordering.

I wouldn't pre-order, feels like something you buy for $30 or less.

I did enjoy the moments I got from being in parties that were actually talking.

You guys do know it is currently available for $35 on the shadybro sites and will like be cheaper closer to launch.
$10 now and within a bundle.

All in serious, I would go no higher then $20.
$30 if the launch content and dlc ends up being good.
