Does anyone want my trash Steam emoticons and backgrounds that I'll never use and don't feel like selling?
A little late in responding, but I'll take whatever backgrounds no one else wants.

Carl - that email you got was pretty crappy. It's one of the things I dislike most about Steam - the (broken &) robotic customer service. Keep after it and you may be successful at getting it reinstated just like CAG.

I suspect there were two big sticking points, the biggest of which was the collection of email addresses for the giveaways. There are some pretty strict laws in the U.S. about email collection now and I imagine Steam wants to steer clear. Most likely the giveaways themselves were a small technicality which would have been otherwise overlooked.

Universe Sandbox 2 is coming soon! And no, I haven't touched 1.
Nor should you feel you must.

Didn't the latest NBA 2K14 royally fuck up AI? Seems like purists and cheapasses alike still endorse 2K13 as the best in the series, though some still say 2K12 is, just has a bit sloppier graphics.
I didn't care for 2k14 for several reasons. Someone posted a long video to explain why I was wrong, but I still liked the way 2k13 controlled much better.

For the console peasantry that think Prototype 2 at $10 is some amazing deal, it was just $3 with free shipping at the Microsoft store a couple of months ago.

Damned console types. Now excuse me while I go buy Chrono Cross off of PSN before it goes off the Golden Week sale. ;)

So anyone else playing ESO? I think I might be pretty done with it. Might renew for one more month, but I'm not sure.
I hate to say I told you so, actually, no I don't. I'm kind of sorry you and the bf spent so much on it. I think it was a bit scheisty of them to shakedown the hardcore fans for every cent on something that they will have to turn F2P sooner or later.

OTOH I guess if you two played the hell out of it you got some money's worth out of it. But you're still #FakeCAGs.

Hello Carl,

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

The group in question has violated the terms of the Online Conduct Rules for the Steam Community.

The group will not be re-enabled. Thank you for contacting Steam Support.
Don't be so quick to give up. That is a canned response. Keep pestering them until you get an actual human being.
I agree. Maybe check with Cheapy or whoever managed to get the CAG Group reinstated. I remember they went through the same thing but ultimately someone talked to someone at Valve (who wasn't outsourced) got a clearer explanation on what they did wrong and promised not to do it in the future, which basically amounted to just not posting Origin deals which, let's face it, was no big loss.

Thanks. You know I love me some Big Fish. There actually is some decent stuff there, even for not so casual types, but finding it if you don't know the name of what you are looking for can be a real PITA.

BTW this weekend everything is 60% off with the code DAY for regular edition games and MAY for collector's editions. You still get punch card stamps for buying sale games too. They also regularly have a deal of the day and of the week for $2.99.

Today's deal is a hidden object game based on the show Castle which doesn't look half bad and has decent reviews. I'm thinking about getting it since I kind of liked the Murder She Wrote hidden object game. Don't judge!

*Edited to add: They also allow a free one hour trial on all their games which is quite useful if you are on the fence or the page isn't clear how the game is.

uplay is for 3rd worlders and hipsters from oahu
I admit I bought Child of Light on UPlay via Amazon but in my defense it was cheapest there with the $5 off deal and I already had some Amazon credit. :p

Then again I'm a FAKECAG anyway for buying a new game at 33% off even with store credit.

Some people's favorite game of all time is Call of Duty.

The moral of this story is people have terrible taste in games.
Even with advancements in game design over the last decade, Sonic the Hedgehog is still the greatest series ever to grace the gaming world.

Some people can't see it because they're not as enlightened as I am.

Sonic also happens to be in the greatest RPG of all time as well.

I'll do you a favor and take that filth off your hands. I'll even waive the disposal fee if it's the Deluxe Ed.
If you can get it to stop crashing every 20-23 minutes and you can actually get the CoOp Missions to actually connect online, please let me know...

Oh yea now me and u can try to play Blacklist together and get disconnected 50 times, nice! Uplay ftw!

I hear the Steam version doesn't crash because Steam + Uplay light is better
You should actually check the Steam forums:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/235600/discussions/0/648812917741297287/

It's a common issue PERIOD, no matter what version you own.

EDIT:

Forget the disconnecting part.

It won't even freaking connect.

I think what the game's doing is this: the game does a periodic 20-23 minute check via Ubi's servers - and if you can't find it, it just crashes.

When it's not crashing, how's the performance for you? I've seen benchmarks that make it out as quite hard on CPUs and GPUs.

My PC = i7 950; 1 GB of GF GTX 560 Ti; 8 GB RAM; Win 7 64-bit.

DX11 mode runs like garbage. It was wild, so I had to turn it off. In DX11, it was anywhere from 20 to 60 frames per sec. Lots of stutters, slow-downs, speeds-ups - it was crazy.

DX9.0 mode is fine, on these settings -> 1920x1080; Medium for Textures; High for Shadows; SSAO off; disabled some other Occlusion in the INI file. It's normally around 40-60 frames per sec on my PC. Most of the time, it's in the 50-60 frames per sec ballpark.

EDIT:

If I could get this 23 minute crash problem solved and online co-op working, it'd make me a very happy camper - especially since the game's really good.

people who bought from uplay that complain on the steam forums because nobody uses the uplay forums
Steam-versions AND UPlay-versions have the SAME issues w/ CoOp not working + the 23-minute crash.

Go read the Steam forums again.

Or better yet - just go play Lost Planet.

I just sold 75 cards on the market in the last few hours by undercutting the fuck out of everyone else. I'm starting to see the benefits of an alt account.
