Personally, I think most of the comic book shows are garbage. They're all like Smallville butchering canon with a young cast that somehow all knew each other when they were kids. Why the fuck would Luthor go to school in Smallville?

Edit: I've caught some of Gotham, Flash, and Green Arrow.

The Flash is really good though. The very first few episodes are slow and feels corny, like it was gear towards teenagers, but it got really good afterward. Agent of Shield Season 2 is also another great show. The first half of the first season of the show was going nowhere but after the Captain America movie tie-in it got really good.

I'm okay with retconning the origin story as long as character motives make sense. Gotham has done a horrible job with Selina. She suddenly teams up with Fish with no explanation.

Gotham is decent. Have never seen Arrow but have heard that it's good. The Flash is really good though.
Watched some Arrow. It's pretty solid though all TV I watch ends up with crappy melodrama inserted and Arrow's no exception. This will sound horribly cynical but I almost prefer bad shows because I always end up mocking them and that way my wife doesn't get to into them only to frustrated at my jokes.

Hear, hear. Although I grudgingly and generally accept these sorts of shows as "modern interpretations of DC comic book characters by music video directors and WB preteen/tween/teen girl/young adult drama show writers to target under 30 females while also bringing in under 30 males under the guise of action adventure super hero drama/scifi/suspense. They're basically akin to the rest of the WB lineup of the past 20 years ie Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, Vampire Diahrrea, etc. etc. with spandex and "DC characters".

PS you left out Birds of Prey. I tried to watch Smallville early on but once they had all this random Kryptonite throughout the town and it was giving normal humans random powers and turning them all into assholes or being that out in them, yeah that was a big NOPE. Lex being in Smallville was bad enough even trying to explain it as his father having interests in the place or history etc. Then I guess late in the show the intro of the pre-Justice league, young Bruce Wayne in town, Lois etc. - absolutely no need for any of that stupidity. Though what really gets my eyes rolling is the patently absurd retconning in comics ie the story where Jor El visits earth and meets Thomas Wayne (or maybe it was Jonathan Kent? Maybe both?), has some sort of stupid team up and/or discussion and decides based on that meeting that earth is where he will send Kal El. Just fuck off with that shite.

Watched a it of Arrow and Flash and they seem pretty decent but I can't commit. Maybe I'll binge watch them eventually, along with Smallville. And now with Supergirl coming to CBS I don't know what to think. Can't imagine it's going to tie into anything - bad enough the WB series don't tie into the DCCU.

I recommend the Flash over the Arrow and I think binge watching is the way to go. No way would I stick to the Flash if I watched it weekly at the beginning of the season.

Sounds like Flash got better after the first couple of episodes, which was what I watched. It did feel like a teen superhero drama, like Divergent or Maze Runner type thing. I'll try a few more episodes.

Arrow just seems like it's completely aimed at females.

The AOU STEELBOOK Went back up again to 29.99 each
Ugh, YUP! And my Ultron versions never adjusted to the $19.99 price when they shipped, and are thus still at $29.99. They are estimated to arrive Friday, but if I don't get them price adjusted by close of business Saturday I am certain they will no longer be $19.99 as advertised, certainly not valid given the ad runs through Saturday only. It is looking like I am going to have to be at a store at 10 am Friday to be certain to get a copy at $19.99, bleh.

Email them, if you can't go in-store. I've had reasonable luck dealing with BB CS via email when I can't sit on the phone with them. They are available 24/7 as well, though the people you get in the 3rd shift window aren't quite the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Now I'm really glad I cancelled my old ordered and reordered when it dropped to $19.99.

That's precisely what I did. Hopefully it will get addressed prior to arrival. Particularly since it's $19.99 right there in their online ad for this week, page 30.

Bestbuy is Dropping the  Ball on Steelbook lately is that a Bad sign for future Steelbook

My AOU preorders are still pending, so we'll see what happens by end of the day today.

Bestbuy is Dropping the Ball on Steelbook lately is that a Bad sign for future Steelbook
Besides the crap with the Mad Max preorders and inventory, how else have they been dropping the ball for everyone except you?

That's odd that yours are still pending--Best Buy shipped out my Ultron steelbook yesterday afternoon.
If they don't change to preparing, I'm calling to ask what's up. Can't order them online as they're not available for shipping nor can i do them for in-store pickup. Plus, I used gift cards for the purchase, so that's not something I can just drop back to a credit card to reorder.

I ordered them about 12:35AM the morning after the prices changed on 08/16/15 when they were advertised at $19.99 pre-order with 100 bonus points on the pre-order, so they should be close to the front of the line for pre-orders at that point.

Again, if nothing changes by mid-afternoon, I'll call BB CS and ask them what's up.

Mine shipped today, about 15 minutes after I posted earlier.  Should have them on Monday, maybe tomorrow if UPS is being kinder than normal.

Got mine in today. Had no idea it came with 3D. At least I can recoup some of my money.

BTW, there are no indicators, but it does give points on Disney Movie Rewards.

It does, though likely only for one of them as they're considered the same movie on the DMR site, if you bought both steelbooks.

Sadly all the places to pre-order are out of the way. Might have to fight the horde to snag at least one of them tomorrow morning.

Check BB.com around 12AM - 1AM CT tomorrow morning. In theory, you could make an in-store pickup order once the title "releases" on BB.com as they shift over to tomorrow online. That's when the inventory that isn't tied to pre-orders should open up for online ordering.

I've picked up a few of them that way when I had more time to hit BB on release days.

They were taking forever to ship out, I ordered it when they hit $19.99 the first time around. I've read post on other sites that they already received theirs as far back as a few days ago. I hope I'm fortunate to get it tomorrow too but being shipped UPS I'm going to get them late.

Maybe its been done before but I believe it's the first time mine came mounted to a pretty thick piece of cardboard for stability. I generally have mixed results with Best Buy shipping but it looks like they are finally trying to prevent all the returns they got from poor shipping in the past.

I received my copy today in the mail and somehow my 3D blu ray was loose in the case. It's just fine otherwise but I wonder how much force it takes to shake it off its center.

mine came same way quite happy

Very few of these at my local store, so I suggest anyone who wants it best go on lunch if you can.  I got to mine 20 minutes after open and they had maybe 4-5 left and I think mine was the last Ultron hehe.  Glad I didn't trust a store pickup option as it probably would have sold before they could pull it.

Just did a lunch pickup myself. There were none left on the floor by the time I got there. Luckily, my two were kept in the back and in great condition. When the lady ringing me up asked if I wanted them in the same bag, I said "I don't know if that's a good idea. It's Ultron and Vision." She gave me one of those 'get out of here with your weak nerd jokes' look so I took off.

went to my local BB and of course, they were all reserved for preorders....likely for instore pickups also.  I had to pick up my copy of NBA16 so not a wasted trip.  Anyhow, I just ended up ordering from my phone, one of each.  As of half hour ago, still available for shipping.  ETA is Tues so not too bad as long as they don't come dinged.

If anyone still needs the Avengers AoU steelbooks, my local Best Buy still had about 10 Visions left and about 5 Ultrons. I got them about an hr ago. i might be able to go and get a couple after work if someone can't. Its the Best Buy on Pleasant Hill Rd in Duluth, GA

When these rare NA Steelbook releases go as well as Ultron did  (3D + digital and no box damage) it makes it that much harder to pony up anything more than 20 bucks. Hope everyone found a good copy.
