All I can say is that they're out of stock for shipping, and at best, all the stores around me have 0-2 copies if they're not showing up for in-store pickup around me.

Oh, I know. I see the same here. I wasn't looking to discount what you were saying; it just seems a bit of a shock given the large number that were available in stores on Tuesday.

I know there are people who collect steelbooks just because they're steelbooks but this one may have sat a while because the film itself is pretty much a snoozefest
 
Yeah they've been pretty stealthy with the last couple DC comics steelbooks, not really advertising them ahead of time, so it wouldn't surprise me if this is a similar case.

Seems to be the only one coming out soon with movie money, as the last one appears to be some of the Taratino movies, most likely for Hateful Eight.

 
Isn't the Watchmen Steelbook a reprint?  I thought it came out before with two-discs and even with internal artwork?

I'm guessing stores will get copies too, since most movie money promos are also in store.

Looks like Creed will be $22.99 release week at Target. Unless Target adds a Cartwheel discount I will likely be passing. The design doesn't really do much for me and I'm not in a hurry to see the movie. I'm also getting sick of these $23 to $25 release week prices on Blu-Rays. Going to be more selective from now on if they keep this pricing up.

Wasn't into movies much, however I'm into them now. Especially since I collect SBs now.


Also target has 50% tv shows on cartwheel, expire today. I was able to grab GoT season 1 & 2 steelbooks for $40.

whoa what. I saw that too, found it myself while browsing my cartwheel. But it says DVDs only. Are you saying it works on all blus?

Well, that is disappointing. I thought the cartwheel might have been good through today since it was still on my phone around 1am last night saying "1 day left!". But nope, it expired already. Missed the sale. Not many people must have known about this. I didn't see it posted anywhere else.

Yeah I saw it when i checked the cartwheel coupons yesterday morning, added it but realized the selection is pretty weak at most targets even with Blu added. Not much that I want that I don't already have. Noticed it was only good for the day so didn't really give it much more thought.

I usually check cartwheel every few days to see if anything interesting has been added.

Hmm, I'm still concerned I'll find the whole thing to too cheesy and gimmicky because I hate Ryan Reynolds snark but after the great reviews I'm really intrigued. It's hard to believe they wouldn't do a steelbook since they have been pretty consistent since Avengers right?

I think I read on bluray.com that someone confirmed a Canadian release, which almost ensures the US getting one too.

It's not a Marvel(Disney) movie, it's a Fox one. Think more along the lines of the Xmen franchise releases, which has tendency for metalpaks releases not steelbooks if they have one. Well at least in the US that is.

Well their have been instances where Canada has gotten a steelbook release and the US hasn't, but as far as I know that has only happen when the US hasn't gotten a LE packaging at all and also mostly for games though.

Cinematic Avengers et al. is a Marvel Studios/Disney Production, while Cinematic Deadpool, Wolverine, X-Men and Fantastic Four et al. are Fox Studios. Fox currently owns the movie rights to Deadpool this it is acokpletely different animal from Disney/Marvel produced steelbooks. That said, it seems Fox has realized the cash cow of special/limited/exclusive editions and undoubtedly will have all sorts of variants available, steelbooks/tins/cases/metalpaks included. Wouldn't sweat this one as there will undoubtedly be all sorts of releases and new versions down the line for years to come, if X-Men is any indication.

The last Fox steelbook was also Fantastic Four.  There are also rumors of another wave of X-Men steelbooks, which will actually be steelbooks this time and not the crappy Metal-Paks Target offered last year.  Since Canada confirmed, I think we just have to wait and see which retailer will have the Deadpool steelbooks.

I got a Temporarily Out of Stock email for the Watchmen steelbook. I've never seen one these emails. They've been jacking with the release date on this thing for the past week so hopefully it's just a glitch.
 
They got released yesterday I picked one up via in-store pick up. There is a whole end cap with about 16-20 different movies with BvS movie money. The Watchmen is the only Steelbook on the display.

I ordered mine for shipping. I just got another email stating the release date changed to 3/1. I'd guess that's the reason for the OOS email earlier this morning. This is the 3rd time Best Buy has changed this release date in the last week or so.

I'm not too worribad d about it. It's just another steelbook in the collection. This one is just a good price.

Got the same email. Also got one about the release date changing twice. Expected delivery the 28th of March. When does BvS come out? I wanted to use this movie cash on it . I'll will be expecting a gift card BBY!
