I ordered the Watchman steelbook when it was first available and it says it was delivered on the 27th. I shipped it to my actual house instead of the apartment I'm staying at for college, so I don't know if it actually got delivered since my mom didn't say anything about it.

Edit: It was delivered and was the movie money version.

Nothing official yet as far as 3D. If they do hopefully it's in the steelbook because if not I'm going to have to double dip

Looks like they did match the Ep I - VI SBs, though that's not a real shock.

Supposed to have another character on the back, so I can only hope it'll be Rey.  Might be Han Solo from the link you posted.

 
I'm still waiting for these Star Wars steelbooks to hit $9.99. Buying them just for the art.  Like anyone.   Should be any week now...

and if the new one truly does match the older ones it will have the theatrical poster sans writing on the back-side.

I'll get it anyway, unless something better comes along, but eventhough I'm a big Kylo Ren fan, I'm not liking the steelbook.  There's just too much black, and with the logo placement, it looks cheap.   I know it matches the other steelbooks, but they look cheap too.

It will sell perfectly fine at $30, cause Star Wars fans are rabid. So I'm not sure there'll be much of a promo.

Hope for you guys' sakes I'm wrong.

Hopefully the SB for TFA will be as widely available as the other SB's, because unless it drops in price before it releases I won't be getting it.

TFA on BD will have no reason to be sold for less than $20 for many months. It will probably even debut higher than most like ~$25.

I'm only really buying it for the Best Buy promo and DMR points. Though if there's no DMR points I'll just sell the unopened copy on eBay.

 
Well looks like I am double dipping on the steel and 3D release. But I am thankful that the 3D release is eventually coming

Wish it had 3D but I'll double dip for this I suppose. Also, not surprised it followed the style of the others but it's certainly disappointing. Can't help but think the UK zavvi version is now showing the back in it's sample.

I'm not convinced this movie will get a 3D release in this country. Retailers have listed the 2D version for a while now. I would think a 3D version would have been decided on by now.

It's hard to tell but I think you're right. The only vlaue of a later release would be to tie in with another SW movie launch (with Rogue One not making much sense with an entirely different cast and story) or to have two marketing pushes; one for 3D and one for 2D. Seeing as 3D bluray is just novelty now I don't see why they'd bother with fanfare of the 3D version's release. Frankly at this point I'm surprised an international 3D release hasn't been announced as it's free money sense the discs are cheap and the conversion was done for theatres.

It makes sense when you realize they'd have to pay the actor more to use their face rather than a helmet. Like all the other steel designs. Not 100% on Maul, but that could be the same rule for full face makeup. Just my theory.

My local Walmart finally got these in stock so I picked one up today.   I don't see how I'd find it any cheaper unfortunately.

The steelbooks are discontinued in Target system, IDK bout other retailers.

Came up as a "You might also like this" item when trying to pre-order The Force Awakens SB.  Price on it currently is $29.99.

Also appears that we're getting an Ip Man Trilogy steelbook as well, with a release date on 04/19/16:

Another item I just found, is the SB for X-Men (2000) out since 02/07/16 (apologies if this was already mentioned), for $7.99 with $8 movie money, most likely for X-Men Apocalypse.
