Got to nearest store in LA at opening, thanks to the posters about the cardboard display as I went looking for that, and there were maybe 8 copies there. By the time I got back to electronics to check clearance, all the copies (however many) that were back with the movies were gone. By the time I checked out about 8:10 only 1 copy was left in the display, and the scanners said none were left in the back.

Seems a bit more limited than maybe anyone expected, or demand is a lot higher with the Oscar win, or both...

There were about 15 copies of BH6 steelbook at the first Target I went to around 8:20am, and 5 copies at the one I went to around 9am.  I went back to the first one at 10:40am to get some groceries and they still appeared to have most of the steelbooks I saw at 8:20.  I also finally picked up a Raiders of the Lost Ark metalpak for $15 (It was the first time I saw this, still looking for the Temple of Doom one though). Good luck to those of you hunting for them today!

I'd check Brick seek, checked last night, seemed a lot of stores here in VA/MD/DC got somewhere between 4-20. Thankfully a store close by agreed to hold one for me until I can get there after work, but a good portion of stores are still showing stock at least for now.

Ya, no idea why people thought there was gonna be this huge wave of scalpers like they care .....they collect figures

To be fair, look at some of the Steelbooks at BB and how much scalping was being done, specifically Thor 2. I was never able to get one, but I remember stores only got around 4-8, and EBay prices at the time were around $50. GOTG seemed to be easier yo get, but I remember pictures of scalpers buying whole stocks.

They're still selling out though. The high traffic Target here went from 20+ to 0 in the first three hours it was open. Several smaller Targets now have 1-3 in stock, when they had inventory in the teens a couple hours ago.

The Target I usually go for these things still has a lot, but that's why I go there. They get a lot, but it takes longer to sell out.

Probably better off to do an inventory search before you go out. Seems like the San Jose area still has availability, no stores round me indicate "out of stock" yet.
Dont trust the online inventory. I tried calling the one on Cottle Rd and he said they sold out fast this morning and they got in 20 copies. Just stopped by the one on Silver Creek and luckily I got there in time cause El Hoardo was there with 2 copies already in hand trying to pick up more. Put back one of them cause the plastic wrapping was warped so I scopped that one up, got to the cardboard case before he could and exchanged that one out for a perfect copy. Hoardo then rushed to electronics to see if they had anymore while another guy cruised up and picked up the warped plastic one saying he didnt care about the condition and he hoped his kids would like the movie. Went back to electroincs and not surprisingly looks like it's out over there too so safe to assume Silver Creek is out of them too.

Amazing to me that Target didn't limit this to one per person.  Similar story as the other guy in LA, the store was wiped out in 20 minutes, and the delay was only because they didn't put everything out all at once.

Limits rarely work at Target. Unless it's something behind the Electronics counter and has to be purchased there, it's easy to get around. Every employee would need to be told of the limits, and that's pretty unlikely.

Even at BB, the only "limiter" would be a MyBB account and you can always do that after the fact for purchases than at time of purchase.

If someone really wanted to get a few more than one, I doubt a Target store would stop them if they went through the line multiple times. If they came up with a stack of them, the store could do something about it if they wanted to.

You can order the Big Hero 6 steelbook online at Target.com now. I placed an order for in-store pickup and already got the email to come get it.

I have tested Brickseek out on a few other items and it appears to be fairly accurate in my area (i.e. when I bought the last of something it turned to "0" moments after I made the purchase).

that being said my local target had 18 Big Hero SB this morning as did a neighboring target. The neighboring target turned to "0" just a few moments after 8AM which leads me to believe a few people bought that store out (or maybe just one person).

My local target slowly trickled down to 8 available when I went around 10AM. I checked in the parking lot from my phone and it said "5 available".

I could NOT find them either in the front of the store, at the standee or in electronics (the shelves for the designated stock were empty). No one was covering electronics and I didn't feel like waiting or arguing with an employee that was either going to be clueless or tell me that the stock checker isn't accurate (because it either isn't or that employee is hiding/holding copies and wouldn't admit to it).

However nearly 6 hours later and the store still shows "5 available". Is it safe to bet those are being held until the end of the shift for employees or friends?

ok... here we go again with the limited amount per store... sold out within 10 mins of store opening...........

The store I went to said there system said they had 20+ in stock but they could not find it anywhere :(  They said they would call me but I doubt that as I am sure that who ever finds it will put it on the shelf immediately and it will be gone by tonight.   I went ahead and put in an order for 2 just in case for store pick up but I am wondering if the system will say "hey a customer purchased 2 so put it at CS" or will the employee just put them on the shelf then see that notice?

What's funny is that the electronics employee said I could order it at GS and the idiot gs lady thought I was trying to price match it on line...she grabs my copy of Indiana Jones Steelbook and tries to scan it....what the fuck lady?!??! :wall: :wall:

For some reason we couldn't order it thru the store either.

Let's hope that's something that will continue when other ones release in the future. It was available for online ordering only up until yesterday, when it disappeared. That part is nothing usual, though until now, you couldn't order them for in-store pickup.

I'm kind of shocked they're up for in store pickup, Target's system for that is still new and kind of a joke, TBH. I'm tempted to try to order one for pickup and see what happens. My luck they'll probably pull the regular edition.

They should scan match the DCPI to verify...unless you get an idiot employee who just grabs one off the shelf and takes it to guest services. Man this is gonna be a mess for Interstellar as well :( oh yeah... LUCY Steelbook is still floating around :whistle2:|

How long does target hold in-store pickup orders? I know BB and WM do for at least a week but I want to say last time I placed an order at target for pickup it was just a few days and then I got a one time option to extend the order for a single day

Well, did a store pickup, if the place that's holding one for me fails, I can go down the road and pick that one up if it gowseshrough. I can always cancel it. We'll see what happens.

Well the clock is ticking........... if it's somewhere in store and they find it by tonight then it will be gone by store closing.

I ordered store pickup, 15 minutes later got a e-mail sorry no longer available, try another way, let me setup shipping then said sorry out of stock. So yeah good luck with the store pickups. Its my own fault missing this one, I sill have my amazon order so I will hang onto it sealed for a week and see if any come available.

Walked in at 8am and the person standing in front of Target when I drove up went straight for the display and took 2 copies.   He noticed that I was there with my daughter, who I have trained to make a dash for electronics, and left one on display.    I then went to electronics to check things out, and he purchased those two copies there and picked up another 3.   I checked out in the front, and he was in front of me.   He told the cashier that "my friends are going to be excited about this!", but you could easily tell that his friends are on ebay.

BTW, the deal's been on SD's front page, which explains the stock selling so fast.

I don't really get it though, cause it's selling for

Scored mine earlier today at $14.99  because the store didn't have any "4" Big Hero 6 action figures".  Manager didn't bring up the DI caveat, just adjusted them to $14.99

I don't really get it though, cause it's selling for <$30 shipped on eBay.
That's what I was thinking too. After ebay, paypal and shipping fees you are only making what, $5- $7, if that? Not worth the hassle. If anything the time to sell would be months or a year from now when they are harder to find. I just don't get it.

I hit Target around 930am and between the register end cap, display stand and electronics department, there were about 20 total. I grabbed one as insurance in case the one I pre-ordered a couple weeks back comes dented, which won't be until tomorrow

My store appears to be cleaned out of the steelbooks and I have yet to receive a "your item is ready" email despite ordering 5 hours ago....I smell cancellation incoming :(

I managed to pick up the last 2 Big Hero 6 Steels at my local store 1 for me and 1 for my friend. Make sure to check the front display because that is where the two at my store were

got my cancellation email an hour ago..........was uber pissed.... called target central..........got uber pissed at the outsourced indian guy stating that how can their inventory for that particular dpci be instock yet they can't find them yet "sold out" before they can find it???!?!?  I was like so you are telling me the store sold out of an item that they could never find?!?!  Gave me a slap in the face by stating that he can't ship it and telling me to go to the local stores to find it and buy it from there.   In the end he ended up giving me a 10 dollar gift card for the trouble yet there is a hold on my card :wall: god damn it.

Nearly everyone is showing OOS in my area now, my in store pickup was cancelled, but thankfully the store I called this morning to hold a copy came through. Store was wiped clean, they were showing the most stock of anyone in the area.

I went around 8:30 to my Target. I saw around +25, and picked up one then I went to my bank. Around 10:20, I back to that store, and I tried to buy another copy, but the clerk told me that someone bought all of them after I left the store.

I stopped by my local Target about an hour ago and thought for sure they would be sold out. There was nothing in the Electronics section but I went to the New Release display up front and there were 3 steelbooks left. I grabbed 2 but when I got home and checked this thread I totally spaced on the save $5 with a Disney Infinity character. If i go back to my store to take advantage of that deal can I just bring the receipt from my purchase? Or do I need to bring the steelbooks with me too to customer service? Any advice on how to do this is appreciated.
