FIRST CAME

Fellow Stootsiers-

This is a courtesy order update email that we are sending to all
customers who have purchased items last week during our two year
anniversary Stootsi Smorgasbord Sale. We have received enough inquiries
on packages that we are slightly worried that some of you just might be
a tad confused, so read below:

As you may (and hopefully) already be aware, all Smorgasbord items
started to process last Monday, August 11th. For those of you who are
wondering about why it took so long to begin processing orders, click on
this link:

Now keep in mind we are constantly shipping these items out, both today,
tomorrow, and Friday. Some orders have already shipped and left, some
are just processed but not shipped, etc. Please be patient with us. We
are doing our best to ship (literally) all of the orders (thousands) by
the end of this week. Some customers have already received their
packages. This doesn't really mean anything other than they got lucky
and live close to us (Pittsburgh, PA).

Regardless, hopefully this clears up some confusion. Enjoy your week,
and your packages. Nothing but love for you guys and gals!

Where did they lie? They said they would ship out boxes Wednesday, Thrusday and Friday of last week. Which they did, as some people received items. Then, they said that nearly all Platinum boxes and many PC boxes SHOULD ship, along with the lesser boxes.

They specifically put SHOULD instead of WILL, because they knew that problems could arise, which they did.

I see no lies, just delays of shipping. Which can happen if you get thousands of orders.

Quit your bitching. You get what you pay for, and you only payed $5 shipping for an item that probably costs $20 to ship. I'm not complaining as I know it took a lot more than $5 to ship my 84 pound package. Whiners.

I was taking a stab in the dark. Most of the packages cost a lot more than $5 to ship, as they were pretty heavy. Either way, quit your bitching. You happen to be one of the very few doing it. My PC games were supposed to be here last Friday. You don't hear me whining. (Which is really saying something, as I usually bitch about everything.)

As I said before, it's a lot of work to ship thousands of orders. Why don't you try it sometime, then we can bitch at you?

i don't understand why stootsi is doing this. i work for a major shipping company (DHL) and i know they are losing money by shipping 80+ lb. boxes. the $50+$5 total does not cover the cost of shipping.

and i definitely lol'd when i read about the possibility of the courier walking up to a top floor apt and the box falling apart. that would suck! the sad thing is if you live in an apt, most shipping companies require a signature for delivery. to prevent theft, DHL doesnt allow leaving packages at apartments. can you imagine packing a heavy box like that up to an apt only to find out the person isn't even home?! some dudes aren't smart enough to go to the door FIRST to find out if someone is home lol (maybe they deserve it and learn a lesson). also it's a pain in the butt to have a huge box like that taking up space in the vehicle cargo area.

AND SOME OF YOU ARE GETTING MULTIPLE BOXES!!! :lol:

sorry but i just wanted to give y'all some of the delivery guy's perspective.
 
they shouldnt have called it platinum they should have called it, RANDOM CRAP! also my gamer box hasnt shipped yet, has anyone elses shipped? I am getting ready to send my broken wii remote i got from them back with the ups guy who delivers the gamer box.

Me too, considering DHL is horrible (no offense) but I shipped about 8 boxes when I moved out to DC with them (all packed very well and tight) and ended up having to get credit back on 6 of the boxes do to damaged goods. I've never had a good experience with DHL, either Domestic or International.

well they send a shipping label or box i guess? Im sure i'll get that before my gamer box gets here if it ever does, then it is free to give something to the guy, if i was to call and schedule a pickup it would cost me 10
 
I ordered the cheap one (the $5 + $5 shipping) and mine's supposed to be here Wednesday. Ugh, I wish I hadn't ordered it. Knowing my luck, it'll be a copy of of Daikatana.
 
Ok, now I am pissed. I was ok with the games I got because I got Civ II but I opened it and I think it is missing a disc!! The first disc slot is empty and the second disc doesn't do squat in the computer. I wonder if the others are missing discs.
 
Got my box, everything the same as you guys except I didn't get the JBL headphones. I already e-mailed them for a refund, I don't care if I come out at a loss, this thing is horrible. Oh well, took the risk once, might as well learn from it and not do it again. Post here if anyone has received an e-mail response about getting a refund yet.

Good luck with that. I sorta feel bad for Stootsi, considering how long it took them to ship these items out (and obviously still continuing to do so), but now they will probably start getting an influx of customers asking to return their items for a full refund.

Least to say, glad I don't work for Stoosti...
 
If this is the best box, I really feel bad for those getting the Gold and other boxes. Hope you guys have better luck.

Wow, you didn't even get the headphones? That was the only semi-decent product.

I emailed them early today about returns and have not received a response yet.

Still nothing for my 200 games, but that is a lot of games to package.

sorry to hear that. i don't think i would use DHL again after that expeience. i am proud of the station i work at, though. we got a good crew that takes care of our freight. sometimes the hub damages it before it arrives at our station and we have to take the heat when we delliver it. sucks. that happens with every company though. unfortunately, it's unavoidable, accidents happen.

Since this is the Stootsi forum it seems to fit: I finally received my Open Box Wireless Networking Adapter from Stootsi.com, and it doesn't work. It stays solid red while my pre-existing adapter works fine with the same console on the same USB ports.

Anyone had good experience with Stootsi replacing non-working hardware?

Gaming box finally updated that it left, still shows up at a weight of 1 pound though. Guessing it is going to be a controller, order of 80 games hasn't moved though.

That doesn't mean it's broken. Check to make sure you have password and shit set up for the adapter properly.
 
Dad called and said there was a "big package" waiting at home for me, but it was just the Platinum Medal Box. No 180 PC games today. Sajak will have to wait.

Platinum Box had the same stuff other people reported. I'll make myself get $50 of usage out of it instead of sending it back, I guess. The box it came in is large enough to make it cost a good portion of its worth to send it back. And they didn't use any packing materials (*edit*They did use some brown paper, oops*edit*), so the box was in cruddy shape

Anyone know if OfficeMax is doing one of those DHL 1/2 off shipping deals anytime soon? I've managed to ship some heavy stuff for pretty good prices during those, they seem to happen less frequently anymore.

For maybe $10-$15, I'll ship it back, but much more than that it's not worth it, I guess.

You could try this if you don't mind waiting. Stootsi said that you only have to notify them within 3 days, I don't think there's a time limit on when you have to send the package out.
