Strell's Lowball: Slowly sending packages out. Thanks everyone!

Here is a quote from USPS on Media Mail...
"Media Mail® service is a cost efficient way to mail books, sound recordings, recorded video tapes, printed music, and recorded computer-readable media (such as CDs, DVDs, and diskettes). Media Mail can not contain advertising except for incidental announcements of books. The maximum weight for Media Mail is 70 lbs."

Basically, video games, cds, player's guides, and the sort work for media mail. I've shipped large and small boxes before with no problem. I've never been asked to look inside a box (YMMV on clerk), but it is open to inspection. Basically you can get charged extra if you mail in ineligible items (but usually just the difference from MM to Priority). I've shipped LE games (GTA IV, Assassin's Creed, etc.) Media Mail, and to make it easier than explaining to the clerk, I just call it a DVD box set, lol.

So to sum it up, you can use media mail on pretty much all the non-accessory items you sold (I'm sure you can't, but don't be afraid to ask, ship things like Beatmania, lol). And with regards to time, it does say it takes longer, but I've never noticed a huge difference when receiving with media mail.

EDIT: Also, what I always do is tell the clerk the item I'm shipping is covered by media mail, but could they tell me the cheapest price anyways. Sometimes media mail may not be cheaper than priority, or just a nickel more. But that probably would only apply to low wait packages.

Strell, a few concerns about my winnings.

1) I don't mind the guides in a bubble mailer, but could you maybe protect the Tail Concerto a little bit more inside it? Even if it's in a small box inside the bubble mailer, I'd be ok with that. I'd hate to have a sealed PS1 game crushed =(

2) I don't mind media mail either, but if I can't get the items by September 1st, then I would actually need you to mail it like 3 weeks from now, because I'm moving in early September, and don't want the package lost. But with that, I'm not in a hurry to get them, so even if you wanted to make mine the last package mailed out in 3 weeks, I wouldn't mind. But whatever you decide, I'll pay media mail or parcel post or priority mail.

I would definitely prefer my item shipped via Priority (since they're too heavy for 1st class). I really don't want some USPS worker to open my media mail package and handle my sealed games... :whistle2:|

I doubt any one would open your package, I've never gotten one that looked open, with how many packages that are shipped a day, I wouldn't be surprised if there was as low as a 1% chance of getting your checked/opened.

Just wanted to say I responded to your PM with my shippng info; sorry for the late response.

I also don't mind media mail and/or a bubble mailer if the P.O. will allow it and/or it will fit
How much do I owe you Strell?
Same, and if you could PM me your shipping info Strell, that'd be great.

^ In Bill Lumbergh voice.

Damn Lumbergh. Wants me to come in on a Saturday. (One of my all time favorite movies.)

I'm going to be sending invoices soon. Like, tomorrow morning, for a number of people who have given me full address details and whose stuff I've packed away. A good part of yesterday was actually spent removing previous labels from the packaging boxes and things I've got, scratching out previous addresses and so forth. I'm going to try and send as much stuff via Media Mail as I see viable, and everything will be packed away securely and so forth.

I'm still missing a few people who haven't answered some PMs I've sent, but I figure that's not much of an issue.

I apologize for the delay.

For the record - and what is seen cannot be unseen - the below is the project I was working on for my sister's wedding. It took a good deal of time, to say nothing of all the aftermath activities that invitations demand - lettering, printing, mounting on card stock, etc. So it's been a busy week in that regard.

BridalBirdie.png

That's gonna put a dent in Vulgarism's picture of a dood who was bidding on Battle Royale and HP Lovecraft books. :]

The idea is that Imma go to the post office right when it opens - even before it opens - and have a stack of things to send out, so that I can get cheap shipping prices with Media Mail. That's the plan down the line, I mean. There are a few people who have requested priority mail, and that will be done for them.

Hope I haven't made anyone suspicious or angry yet. :[

(No worries Strell. Stuff will get out when it gets out. This was a lowball auction, not a quickball one.)

Haha, I now simply believe your brother or friend really wanted to read Battle Royale and some H.P. Lovecraft :D

Send me your shipping info, and stop avoiding me! Haha

I even threw in a couple special items, since you convinced me to do the sale. One of em is something only about 150 people on this planet have. I figured it'd be a nice gift for ya.
Glad Strell finally responded, was about to file a dispute with Paypal.
Oh wait..I can't since I haven't paid yet.;)
You stole my joke !

Well played, Sir. :bouncy:

You're sending him smallpox? Yea yea, I know, there's not even 150 people with it, but it's the only commonly known rare disease I can think of =P

I would say roughly 1/3 of the media mail suspicious packages I receive are inspected, usually it's the stuff in boxes. I can tell because they have that red "Inspected by #_______" stamp on it.

Really? I've honestly never had one inspected box. Maybe the % varies regionally.

Me neither.

I have begun the slow deluge of shipping packages out. A quick round one this morning commenced, and a larger round two will be had tomorrow.

EarthboundX5: I managed to condense your things down to one box + a small flat rate box. Got the Gamecube batteries and metal reload pedal in there, which are easily the heaviest items. So that'll be as efficient as I can get. I think Fedex beats out USPS on large heavy boxes, so I might opt for that for your stuff, being the giant lord-of-the-packages behemoth that it is, towering above its tinier brethren.

So, you know. Fun stuff to think about.

Who's packages got shipped out? Don't we need to pay you first? LOL.

Payments had been made - these were primarily requests for (or that I used) flat rate boxes.

Plenty more will be done tonight, given that my evening is clear, I'm back in possession of a weight scale (was out at parents' place and I've been looking for it), and I can get to the USPS early tomorrow and get a good round out. I'm hoping 10-15 people minimum.

It's a bit random at this point, but iz happnin'.

So does that mean your still sending invoices? Cause as soon as I have your Paypal info and grand total, you'll have your well deserved digital cold hard cash.

Ditto on that

Hero just lost some freebies. Mostly ones that were shaved off my person somewhere special.

Actually, I think he just earned some freebies of aforementioned nature.
I think Strell fell into one of Earthbound's boxes in a daze.
If thats true, then it may be years before he gets out!!!
Still patiently waiting.. twiddling my thumbs.
Man, I'm having enough trouble mailing out 30 packages... He has at least double that... I feel bad for the guy...

He might layer my package with his pubes as filler. I'm afraid that the bugs that might crawl out of my package. I swear it is going to alive. I think I need to open my package out with a dust blower, bug spray and use a mask. I swear the neighbors might think I have a decapitated head with all the hair sticking out.

I think hoping for lobsters, hopefully frozen. I have no idea what to do with live lobsters. If I get two, I hope they battle each other.

I shipped out like 30 package too but I used Paypal shipping labels. I had a bunch of boxes at home so I didn't need to buy any boxes.

Double quote of me? Heh... You could only be so lucky to get the Strell pube package... But, from what I hear, he has enough pubes for 4-5 packages, so I think we all will get a few presents. Can't wait!!!

Oh, and I have no printer :(... But I do have a cat named Meowth!

I thought your cat was named.. something Japanese or something. Are you just some dude with a bunch of random cats EVERYWHERE?

So I finally got a copy of SotC.. and I forgot to take my name off the queue on Goozex so I have another copy coming as well. Boo..

Strell isn't a grizzly bear. I think he will run of pubes and pluck out his arse hair and slowly work his way to his back hair. He will probably leave his chest hair alone so he could keep warm in the winter.

Hero, you might be a white belt in whatever martial art they are teaching you for the Navy but you are a 4th degree black belt with that engrish.

Haha, if you wanna sell it to me for a little bit of cash maybe, I wouldn't mind! Haha, and yeah, I have two cats... But we have about 4 older cats and 3 kittens running around outside our house... We live in the backwoods, so we've had deer run through our backyard before. And I do have Akira Yamaoka too. Meowth is just incredibly fat.

I've always seen Strell as more of a horse. Very fine, thin layer of hair, but lots of it. Straight-pubes, if you will. But thick. Soft to the touch. Annnnnd I'm done before it gets REALLLY creepy :whistle2:#

Just got my MM. I cant believe how great Strell's shipping is! Everything was perfect AND when I asked for the mintiest of the mint in terms of the game, he decided to actually include some Nintendo mints in a NES style controller case. Thanks so much!

Ha ha. I was thinking the same thing and thinking about bringing it up but decided to read the rest of the posts first. It was in the wee hours of the morning though, so hero could've been wasted on Jack and Coke.

Hero only posts messages early in the morning or when he is frustrated, that's why his engrish is so superb

A round of invoices will go out tonight. Another round will go out tomorrow. I'm hoping to do two rounds tomorrow. This depends on how much sleep I want to deprive myself.

Which is producing pretty fun hallucinatory reactions currently, so the potential is great.

I wish this orange doughnut would stop talking to me though. :[ I don't have its headphones. Who took its headphones? I'm looking in your direction, Mad D.

Haha. Aiite. I'll let you know how the condition of the game is.. but if it's horrid, I'll just have to flip it back onto Goozex.
