Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info
Don't go stealing my ideas now. ;)

My idea was also to do a regional thing, and winners from the regional brackets would meet up, etc, etc. The only thing I wasn't sure of is items, since different people like different item settings. People can agree on stages, and whatever. Seems like a lazy approach, I know, but it works.
I like the regional idea. I guess 2 different tournaments would be best as naes stated before.

4 threads of the same game. Haha.

I don't think distance is that big of a deal if you have a good connection. As long as you don't have something downloading or uploading (I hate real life friends), the connection should be fine. It's 1 v 1, after all.

Can someone help me out. In the challenges section i have them all unlocked to see what the challenges are except for 4 of them. The 4 im missing are....

- The first two i cant see are in the first column. 3rd and 4th down. They are right under the "Unlock 75 or more hidden songs" challenge.

- The third one i cant see is in the 24th column, 3rd one down. Its under the "Hit 24,000 combined with all fighters homerun contest records" challenge.

- The last one i cant see is in the last column, 3rd one down. Its under the "get 500 different trophies" challenge

Can someone please tell me what they are?

I'm trying, but failing, to play a team match with my friends, but for some reason, I can't even join them without getting DC'd. It's strange too, because I'm home alone, and there's nothing else running.

Hey Mr. Beef, you have my FC right? Cause on my end it stills says awaiting registration.

Why does everyone use Ike, Marth, Pit and Meta Knight? Regardless, I still owned the random matches I just played. Toon Link FTW man. 5 KOs and 0 falls first match, 4 KOs and 1 SD the 2nd match, 3 KOs and 0 falls 3rd match, then got disconnected.

Whenever I play random matches (only 3 so far), there's always a 1 second lag between my inputs. So I figure I might as well use Ike to maximize my chances to KO people. As for Marth, he was one of the people I main'd in melee. I don't really use Meta Night nor Pit though.

Yes, every match I am in there's ALWAYS one of those!

I guess people still love Melee?

And Suko, I actually don't have your Brawl code. I think I may have accidentally deleted it when I was cleaning out my roster.
Why does everyone use Ike, Marth, Pit and Meta Knight?
Ike cleans up in four player free for alls, Marth is still too good, Pit has one of the best projectiles in the game as well as the best recovery, and Meta Knight racks up damage quick.
Yes, every match I am in there's ALWAYS one of those!
Ike for C-sticking, Pit to run from battles and spam forward B, Marth because he's fast and relatively unchanged, and meta knight because he's just too fun to play with lots of move spam :p

That just about covers it! :)

Totally agree Naes. Haven't played with you in a few days :( I think it's about time to get back playing now that I re-hijacked my wavebird from my nephew (gave him my gamecube and he took all my controllers!)

Haha, I'm addicted to Spectator right now. Started at 5000 coins, got to 7000 and I'm now at 6200... Too addicting.

That said, if you wanna play some games just lemme know. :D
I have some time left, so if anyone wants to have a quick 1v1 session, let me know.
I'll hop on in a few minutes.

Don't know why Remote + Nunchuk gets so much hate. I use it exclusively now due to my fucked up GC controller, and it works just fine. I'm sure that on a competitive level there would be a bit of delay throwing me off, but as it is, it's perfectly comfortable. Just had to set B to block and down to secondary attacks.
Smash sold 1.4 Million copies in 1 week.
Woot!

I like the Wiimote+nunchuck controls. I tried to switch with a GC controller and I sucked!
Another good set of games, Arikado. See you next time.
Definitely. Fun as hell playing against you. I'm just happy I finally pulled off a few successful spikes this time.

The first column, last challenge is: Collect All Stickers.

The 24th column one is: Clear "The Wolf Hunts the Fox" event on Hard difficulty.

It works in a pinch (I got used to it quickly enough when I forgot my GC controller when I was over at a friend's place), but the GC controller blows it away.
I tried about 6 EB/GS tonight and couldn't find any GCN controller extensions. :(
Any website have them? For cheap?
This?
Thanks. But I don't see Smash listed?
WTF!? Smash wouldn't be listed, those are router manufactures. The brand of your router in other words. What brand is yours? D-Link? Netgear?

after you click on model it asks about program/game

*sigh* This I know. I have a LinksysWRT54GS. After you click the model of your router, it brings you to a list of games that they have guides for on directions on how to port forward. Smash is not listed.

Anyways, I'll figure this out.

GG Inufaye and whoever else I just played.
This?
I scored two for $12.00 on ebay (they came together- new). I don't think you'll find anything cheaper in B/M stores.

Really?

The only changes I made were to turn tap jump off and to remap the jump button to down on the d-pad and, later, to the Z button (which feels like the most natural place for it).

I still prefer my GameCube controller, but I can hold my own with the Wiimote and Nunchuck...until I forget what the buttons do.

Any tips on how to stop a pikachu? My friend uses Pikachu and uses Down+B like there's no tomorrow, problem is I play as lucario/ike and I need to get close but I can't because he spams it too much. Then when I stay away, he uses B+Side and somehow I can't dodge and when I do he just comes back with another thunder. any help is appreciated.

i use lucario, and one thing i have learned with him, is he is not agile, he cant dodge well, but he can take some fucking hits.

just shield and sit back and wait for him to get bored, he'll come to you. That's when you pounce back with some A combo/ B+side.

Dead shock rat :D

I've never had any trouble Vs Pika with Ike. If he's spamming down B, just play on a level where you can get a roof over your head. If that's impossible, just try to force his hand - make him make the first move, so you're in a good position to dodge. Won't work so well if he mixes it up with regular attacks, but it doesn't sound like he's at that level at the moment. If he's doing side B... counter? Because from your post, it sounded like he was doing it from a fair distance, so even with Ike's slower counter, you should still have time to throw one down.
