If you're trying to do speed unlocking of characters in Group mode, another helpful time saver is to always choose the same two characters and the same stage. The game will load MUCH faster since it won't have to load a new stage and just reuses the last one. I always chose Pictochat since it was closest to the bottom where the cursor starts and not graphically intense. Most matches loaded in around 3 to 5 seconds each rather than 10 to 30 seconds if you did random characters and random stages. Those few seconds shave off a lot of time when you're trying to do 400 mathes to get to Wolf.

You have 30 second load times? I sometimes get 10 second load times, maybe 15 rarely, but 30 seconds is a lot longer then I've ever had to wait for the game to load a new level.

Yes, about two days ago. This is the first time I've played him though. Is that why you left? It's laggy, but we're still having fun. At least I can beat him :lol: and he doesn't seem to mind playing with items.

I know that Brawl will start to load sluggishly when the Wii is in a room/house that's smoked in. The difference is noticeable, and I don't suggest it ... unless you really need it badly.
 
GG JANET(im guessing Daisy) Me and a friend were playing was the reason there were two BWOs. After the last fight, you must've been AFC (Away From Controller) since you didn't even move during and after the match. But i'm online with a friend if anyone wants to brawl!

Sorry about that. I came over here to post. I had already fallen off the stage on my own (Lucas and lag) twice and figured I'd leave so I could reply to decrot.

You left after that but if you still want to play I'll create a room.
It's difficult to check this thread and brawl at the same time. I'll be brawling if anyone needs me...

yea thats why i left, i cannot play with that 56k lag

But the lag still isn't horrible. When i connected at first, i expected it to be unplayable. But even with 56k speed, it played alright.

i have to say its pretty bad. I cannot get the timing right and cannot execute moves correctly. it just becomes a button mash fest.

All in all, its about a one second delay. I was able to execute hits with the delay.

And GGs Daisy, it was fun! My friend and I have to go somewhere tomorrow so we don't need to stay up real late. Have fun brawling tonight all!
 
Speed unlocking, the best way, period:

Step 1: Special Brawl
Step 2: Stamina
Step 3: Set CPU stamina to 1
Step 4: Stage Choice at Random
Step 5: Choose characters
Step 6: GO
Step 7: KO CPU
Step 8: Go to Step 6; Repeat 450 times

Matches take less than 5-15 seconds each, 20-30 seconds each for the roundtrip.

Decrot, I understand exactly what you're saying, but to me at least, it doesn't make it unplayable. It's difficult to get any blocking done though! But I'll keep that in mind if we ever brawl again.

Now I need to remember everyones name :lol:

I think the average load time is between 10 to 12 seconds for a completely new stage 4-way Brawl. I started timing it after a while when I first started trying to do tons of Brawls quickly and was waiting. There were a few rare ones that did take up to 30 seconds to load. When I redid a battle it loaded in about 3 seconds. Yes, I did use a stopwatch just out of curiosity.

My Wii is less than two months old. I thought the average load time for everybody was about 10 to 15 seconds once the Loading started, so not sure if mine was longer than most.

Oh no, they we're stock matches. And while I typically have no preference over items being on or off, this was one of those cases where they were just getting in the way of a good brawl.

Okay, dmunkee, those were some ridiculously close games. I was so upset when we had the explosion finish, and you died milliseconds before I did. Gosh.

Well, if I ever get so far as to you meet you in the tournament, at least we'll know it will be exciting.
 
Yeah, it was down to whoever could get that last hit, and then BOOM! Right before that though, in the back of my mind I just knew a gordo was going to be coming my way sooner or later :)

Really liked going up against your Dedede, you definitely know how to put on the pressure.
