Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info

Thanks CK - also, I have another question. When G&W pulls out a turtle shell during the fight, what attack is this? I keep reading terms like DAIR or something and I just don't understand the lingo.

I feel like I'm a decent player, but there is just a level of this game that is over my head.
 
That's his back air move (BAIR). There's down-air (DAIR), forward-air (FAIR), back-air (BAIR), and neutral air (NAIR). That's the lingo!

EDIT: I lose to dyeknom. And I forgot up-air (UAIR).

"DAIR" = "down air"

So it follows:

UAIR = Up Air
FAIR = Forward Air
BAIR = Back Air
NAIR = Neutral Air, which is hitting attack without moving your character

DMK and the like would know this stuff better than me though.
 
I really do appreciate this clarifying things. I have one more little question, what the heck does Lucario's Down+B attack do? When I play as him all he does is kind of flicker and move his arms, but sometimes when other people are playing as him - he disappears and then attacks sort of like Metaknights Down+B but from the side.

Again, thanks CAG - While I'm saving money on games, I'm also learning a lot about the games I'm getting.
 
I was in my room playing Lost Odyssey while my roommate was in the living room playing Brawl.

Occasionally, my 360 would make an odd buzzing noise. It started to worry me, as I figured a red-ring was impending. I shut the console off, but it stayed "on" to continue downloading content.

Every now and then, the noise comes back. I'm about ready to completely unplug the console when I listen closely. My roommate had been doing the Home Run Contest for the last hour or so. The buzzing I thought was coming from my 360 was actually the sound of the Sandbag flying through the air!

Hey, don't take my DK victory away from me!

That match between your ZSS and Suko's Falcon was ridiculously long. I almost got myself some popcorn.
 
Sorry for walking around half the match as Ness. I did it for two reasons.

A) I meant to pick Lucas
B) His tiptoe animation is just too cute!

EDIT: So, the Custom Robo and Knuckle Joe trophies pretty much did me in.

EDIT2: I can't tell whether or not Blue is being serious when he's playing as Snake. Half of the time, he hits only himself with those C4s.

I laugh. :)

A Sheik/Zelda combo would be pretty cool. The space animals are much different from each other now, so there should be one to fit your style.

Haha! It doesn't work so well with stock matches.

Actually I was just goofing off with snake. It's challenging to stick C4s onto people. :)

We had some great 1 vs 1 matches early on Joe, although I was disappointed you didn't go Dedede on me.

Good games to everyone else too, sorry I wasn't playing (seriously) there for a while. I needed a break from thinking, and nothing like blowing up C4s all over the place to release some stress.
 
Good games Suko, zitanix, and Rig (and Mad D for a bit earlier). I made some stupid mistakes and had some bad games, but I ended the night with 111 KOs. I'll take it. :lol:

Good games Arikado, Suko, Mad D, and Rig. Suko cracks me up every time when he falcon punches out of nowhere or suicides with someone. :)

Haha... we were in a private chat on Xbox Live. I told him "You're not gonna get me," and like two minutes later, my Ness eats a Falcon Punch and I go flying off the screen. :lol:
 
Yup, GG's. Sorry if I pissed anyone off by choosing people who can OHKO out of nowhere. Though, it seems like everyone liked surprises :)

Blue: You need to stop 'splodin' yourself with C4s and start doin' it w/ grenades like me. Go get some practice =P

So that's why it seemed like I was geting double teamed at points! I call shenanigans! :)

By the way, was everyone choosing Final destination? I was considering going Mario Bros or something else ridiculous, but I don't think it would've been chosen anyway.
 
Hey RIG! and anyone else who cares. After I chose the opposite cahracter in the meatknight vs lucario fight I got a message saying i had acces to all movies. SO pick mario insted of kirby (or viseaversa), save the other princess and pcik lucario over metaknight (or viseaversa) and you should get all the movies.

But now i have to complete SSE agian cause i accidenlty overwrote my first one.

Thanks. I have slowly been going back through SSE. I usually play one level per night.

lol. Zitanix, I wanted so bad to congratulate you!

I kept juggling you with Sheik (when you were DK) and every time I hit you up, you'd hit Marc at the top of the screen. You finally got him over, and I thought that was spectacular!
 
Haha, I thought it was funny too. I figured I couldn't get down, so why not keep evergoo going up? :)

Alright, it's 4am, so I need to get some sleep. Good games to Mad D, Arikado, JoeB, and Evergoo. I think I can safely say Marth is a ROB counter, and I had epic lulz with Dedede's lulz hammer (down b).

EDIT: By the way, does anyone use Diddy? I think he's pretty stupid, but he's actually quite decent as a character.
