Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info

Good games JoeB, zitanix, and Mad D. I knew it was time to stop after I had the round where I Falcon Punched zitanix off, then turned around and knee'd Joe off. :lol:

EDIT: Ugh. Sorry, evergoo. That's just the first time in a long time I've been frustrated with this game. My timing was off with everything. That suicide was poor sportsmanship. Not to say you didn't deserve to win, because you did! But, still, ugh.

I don't play him myself, but he's definitely a good character. No lag after his dash attack, good aerial game, a decent projectile, good spike, and not to mention those bananas can be a bitch to get around.

GGs to Arikado, zitanix, evergoo, Mad D, I think that's it. I hope I didn't forget anyone.

I'm having such a hard time playing as Sheik and then going back to Dedede. I feel as if their play styles are contradictory or something (actually, it's probably the disparity in the speed).

Arikado, you have no idea how many times - in the past two days of playing as Sheik - that I short-hopped to a jet kick at the ledge, leading to my certain demise. That happened twice when I was playing a newer CAG Smasher today - I'm certain he thinks I'm incompetent.

Talking about her dair right? I'm sure you remember me doing that with ZSS tonight. :lol: Thought I had enough room and I would land on the corner, but I was obviously wrong.

You'll get the hang of it. Both Sheik's and ZSS's dairs are easily punishable if they're blocked or if they whiff, so you just have to get a feel of when to use it.
 
I think the longer I play this game the worse I get. All thought process disappears and defense goes out the window and I just start spamming.



Bad thing was ''long'' was after the first 1v1 game I played with Kado before everyone else joined in :lol:

Added Maigo, GRed, JoeB, and Mad D on the Wii I usually play on. Code is in sig. I might be online later, since my roommate wants to practice against my Lucario.
 
Got 5th out of 60 something in San Antonio. Second consecutive event where both my losses were two Snakes. A Snake has won at least 4 straight majors in a row in Texas now :|
 
Metaknight. Snake is heavy and its hard to kill him until I get him to a really high %. Also, I dont think any of my moves can knock him out of his Up B. I also have to get in close, which is hard when he's got a constant wall of explosions around him. Then add in my lightness and its all bad news.
 
Good games to Suko, Arikado, and Mad D. Arikado, I'm guessing you had to do something when you suicided? Suko, you were acting pretty weird that match too. MAybe I should get a 360 and headset to find out what's going on. =P

Haha... well, I was pissed that Suko gimped me, but I suicided because my dog wanted to go outside.

On Saturday Nights, when you play on Smashville.. you can only HEAR certain KK Slider songs, but you'll never get a CD for those songs... right?

Because I was playing a couple matches on their last night, in hopes of a new CD poppin, and I never got one :(

Oh yeah, I did receive brawl death threats from kado whenever he grabs someone and I take advantage and smash both of them :)
 
No extra CDs for them Slider songs. Sorry.

DMK, have you tried Ness to counter Snake? He seems to work alright for me. Once you master his spike, all you need to do is wait for Snake to Up+B, and it's over.

Since no CAGs are online, I've been playing a lot of random online FFAs. I never realized how crappy and frustrating it is fighting for only 2 minutes.
 
Haha, I got disconnected on that last match just as my whip grabbed the edge. Too bad, that was a pretty intense fight!

GGs to Suko. I've been 'demo-ing' Sheik lately, but I remain unconvinced she possesses the tools to Brawl competently against most other characters. Then again, I've only had her a few days. And even though we're highly comparable in skill level, I found Sheik kept getting two-stocked. :/ (Both on your end and on mine)

What I really need is a Meta Knight counter. I don't have anybody who can stand up to him.

EDIT: Also, Ice Climbers are awesome. Unless you're on the receiving end of the punishment.
EDIT2: Oh, and nice come back with Marth! I thought I had that one in the bag!
 
I got 2 stocked on my end too lol.

Metaknight counters? Well, Dr Mario Kart has some trouble with Snake, and I believe Rob is also competent against him. I think anyone who's heavy and can KO off the top well should do adequately.
 
Metaknight can take Pit but you have to stay in his face. Your attacks have priority and speed over him. I think your back or forward air can override his gliding attack too. The tornado or drill should be able to eat through his arrows once if you can get it started. Up B to kill, while you are both in the air is good.

Come to think of it, I dont think I've seen a pit in the last 3 tournaments I've been to. I imagine theres a good reason for that.
 
I dunno about best, but I like to use Falco vs. him. Reflector for his arrows, the extra distance on it punches through his side B, laser spam if he's forcing you to approach.

If he goes to use his side B to reflect your shots, take that as a massive opening.

If your friend is a more up close fighter, just camp the corner of the stage and shield grab. If he likes to grab, roll and down smash.

Falco's forward smash can also hit through side B spam if you stay just out of range, his wing tips hit the bottom.

GG's to Hero, Evergoo, and JoeB. That fire fox suicide wasn't on purpose, my controller was low on batteries and kept cutting in and out so the analog would stick one way :(

EDIT: GG's to Maigoyume, Zitanix, and whoever JUS was!
