Those were some kick-ass games!

I haven't had that much fun in Smash in a long time!!

From now on, I proclaim Wednesdays shall be known as SMASH BROS. WACKY WEDNESDAYS. Thanks Mad D.

Everyone should seriously try it! I'm sure hero, Jack, and Daisydog can back me up at how insane and hilarious these FFAs are!
 
Its funny that you all talk about the plateaus you have reached....but yet you still hand me my ass before I even feel it. You all are really good. I'm still in the process of training so I'm estimating that I'll be done on friday. Hopefully I can match up with all of you.

I kept trying to fight with the assist trophies :lol:
I think Kirby is my best shot for item matches. Did you see me spamming the c stick when I was Game&Watch? I can't remember if I had ever been him before. He didn't do too bad! Maybe a new character to try when I've cycled though all of my other ones.

Mr. G&W has a very good C-stick game, but the best goes to Olimar.

I was also trying out characters I rarely play with. I tried so hard to play as Samus and get that Smash Ball but it never happened :whistle2:(. She's so nerfed.

EDIT: The bigger question is why the hell did they nerf my Melee main, Ganondorf?! He was already slow, but they now decided to make him move like a sloth!

Why did they nerf a character that was never that good to begin with? It's a shame how they've treated Samus, really.

I vaguely recall a lot of people being disappointed with Subspace Emissary. Myself, I just went back to it - and I still love it. Even the maze is fine by me.

I mostly played with G&W and Ganondorf in Melee.. needless to say... I was pissed when I first played Ganondorf. I'm still unimpressed by him.

I tried to like him. Really. But then I realized that Sakurai has this pattern where he nerfs many of the really good characters in sequels.

So don't be surprised when your Lucario sucks, maigo, in Smash 4. Maybe he'll be replaced by Psyduck :p.

EDIT: On an unrelated note, what is wjhard63's Smash name? I've been calling him JAMEZ this whole time in the season thread. Lol.

EDIT2: The Crotch, I did say "many" and not all :p. Regardless, veteran characters never seem to reach their glory days. They either go down or climb up slightly but are rarely as godly as before.

I dunno how much of a pattern Sakurai has there, Goo. Yes, Kirby went way down from 64 to Melee. Yes, a number of formerly great characters dropped from Melee to Brawl. But then there are characters like Marth who are fantastic all the way through, and those like Link and Samus who started low and have only gone down.

EDIT: Having said that, replacing Lucario would be fine by me. Wannabe-tough-guy asshole with all that stupid grunting and yelling. Just taking up space that could have been used by Hector or a Mii or Mega Man.

Or Zeratul.

I hope they nerf MK in Smash 4, every person and their dog was using him at the tourney I was at. Friggin whore :bomb:.
 
Link was my main in melee (yeah I know) and while I like most of the changes that were made to his character, probably the worst one that I dislike is how heavy he is now, and that his ^b doesn't seem to provide as much lift anymore. Makes survivability that much harder with him should you get knocked off.
 
Link does seem to drop a lot faster, whereas falco doesn't seem to drop as fast. In melee he was like a rock... now he is a lighter rock. I really miss walking off the edge with DK and somebody strapped to my back at 10%.

so bored at work today i was dwelling in the back of my mind and thought of something
now not to steal the thunder of goo`s Wacky Wednesdays i was thinking if anyone would like Team Battle Tuesdays?
this would create the possiblity of smashers becoming less bored of regular FFAs and challenge players to come up with new strategies for team battles.
and who knows, competions could spawn from this idea


anyways i thought it could be something fun to try, i always did enjoy a good 2 vs. 2

You always have funny taunts. And I did that just for fun. And mostly for when a smash ball is used. It's fun to be Kirby and just taunt, "Hi! HI! HI!" the entire length of the FS :lol:

Oh, sorry dyeknom! I guess I don't realize that I go for Final Destination that often. Good games - you were able to handle Dedede handily a few times. Nice job!

8 Maps in a row were FD. I wanted to vomit because it's not like it has retarded map-lag anyway because of that retarded background. Same with Yoshi's island. Honestly, though I'm just about done with Brawl. It makes me sick to see what Melee has turned into.
 
FD is just so uninteresting and doesn't provide any platforms to escape spam-play, not to mention that the platform screws my recoveries 5 times out of 10. If you want a somewhat more neutral stage, Battlefield, or Smashville are much better choices IMHO.

IMO, the most neutral is Smashville.

It doesn't have those deadly edges like FD. It also has a moving platform to prevent characters who have really good up tilts and up smashes from abusing them like BF. To top it off, KK Slider's songs rule! The only drawback are the balloons but that's being nit-picky.

Smashville is good, but I definitely wouldn't say it's the best neutral stage. It's too conducive to edge guarding, which is something BF (by virtue of those platforms) tries to minimize.
 
Well, I'm just about done training with the Pokemon Trainer. I think that I have gotten pretty good so I'll be on tomorrow. The only thing is is that I don't think I can go up against a Marth really well. So there you go, thats my weakness. I think though that we should have a smash ball at least on one game... but it would be fine if we didn't.

It's JAMES, all caps. I didn't see any reason to nitpick, but noticing how many 'James' or derivations of it there are on this thread, I thought I'd clarify.

Nice wins to Ingwe. Our first match was extremely close, but he pulled away as my frustration rose in match 2 and I was given a nice 3-stocking. Rinse and repeat for our 3rd 'friendly' match. Good tactics - frustrating to play against, but good tactics none-the-less.
 
Hahaha, good games suko and Daisydog. I'd play more but I have to get some dinner. The Fox/DK combo was completely unintentional, I swear! :)
 
Sorry I left after the 2nd match DD and suko...wish I could`ve continued but all it takes is one angry mom

Anyone up for some games right now though? I`ve got hero (week 2 opp) tomorrow, yukine (week 1 ipp) after tomorrow and mai (w3...) sometime next week.

Fullmoon's ZSS is a demon. She knows where to hit you. And she makes you bleed very quickly.
 
For what it's worth, I feel hero is the closest person I've faced online.
