I will be working on Brawl nonstop all year and I still won't finish it.

I'll finish it....in 2020. I mean I haven't even finished RE4 WE yet. Or SMG or Z&W or Elebits...the list goes on. I play half games and then come back to them all the time and play bits and pieces.

·some figures will appear as assist trophies if you gain them

· A boss in Submissary is from the fire emblem series. He does not fight but he summons monsters.

· Boss rush mode after clearing Submissary.

· You will need 240 hours to clear submissary with every character available.

· Bowser, Dedede and Wario also appear as bosses in the submissary mode.. they are beeing mind controlled

· If you have a save data of ssbm you will get special trophies, BGM etc.

· same with super mario galaxy and some other wii games

I may have caled it already, but I'm gonna do it again. When you get to the last boss in Emissary, you're gonna have a character select screen with all the characters, just posing and lookin' badass, right before you fight El Last Boss.

Really? Nice. It would be awesome if having a SSBM save got you one or more free golden hammers.
 
Now is Nintendo's chance-they need to make it so having a melee memory card in when you turn on brawl not only give you stuff in brawl, but also the missing 3 trophies in melee! :pray:
 
48 characters in the game.

Japanese Newspaper Translation

My translator gave me a summary of that the image says. Here's what he had to say: The top paragraph simply says that compared to Melee's 25 character roster, this time around Brawl will have 48 characters, nearly twice as much as Melee.

The next paragraph talks about Snake being included in the game and how it's sort of a crossover in fighting from a different series and not just Nintendo. But it mentions he was in a similar crossover fighting game a while ago called Dream Mix. Then it mentions Sonic and how he's also in a Nintendo/Mario game (Olympics). And Lucas is mentioned as he was going to be in Melee, but because the game didnt come out for the GBA in time, he wasn't in Melee.

We're not even sure if this image is real of rake, but that's what the text says. Supposedly, this image is from Oita Godo-Shinbun, a Japanese newspaper.
 
48 characters, huh? That would be quite satisfactory. I'm sure there are quite a few clone characters in that number, if it's true, but 48 still leaves room for several more unique characters, I imagine.
 
11 days until Brawl is out in Japan....and I can't find a cheap Used Wii anymore! X(

And I saw TONS of them for 15,000-22,000 yen (about $145-210) last month. :shock:

*sigh* Maybe I'll just pick up a new one..

You know what I just realized? I realized that my expectations for this game are higher than pretty much any other game before. I just realized that my single greatest fear with this game is that it will somehow incorporate Shadow the Hedgehog.

I think that's a good sign.

I didn't think used Wiis even existed in the Japanese market. I always assumed Japan has the same supply issues the U.S. does. Or did you mean your local stores had an unusual surplus off Wiis?

That is a good sign. I also have almost unparalleled expectations for this game.

I think my greatest fear is that the game will somehow incorporate Tingle. Well, he was in Termina Bay, and that was one of my favorite stages in Melee. So if they bring that stage back, or have him in another stage in a similar fashion, I'd be okay. But if this game has a Tingle assist trophy, or *shudder* a playable character, I'll be irritated.

Actually, now that I think about it, there is one way (and only one way) a Tingle assist trophy could work. When he pops out like the crazy, startling fairy that he is, any nearby players can't help but continually attack him for the entire time that he is on the field, thus leaving the players open to attack by the person who used the trophy. He'd be like the SSBB equivalent of WoW's Target Dummy. It's the only logical way to do things.

Yeah, that would work.

Which reminds me: this game should have Mr. Game and Watch style Paper Mario and 2D Sonic available as characters. That would be fun.
 
^I don't think a 2D Sonic would be necessary, especially since I don't want to see more then 1 playable character per third party franchise, but I would love to see Paper Mario as a playable character.

Also, I think there needs to be a little more Earthbound/Mother love. Another playable charater, or at least have Pokey as an boss in single player.

^The Wolf Link in your post made me think of some other characters I was considering the other day. I'll add them to my original post.

Kain would be a cool character, and Final Fantasy IV is my favorite Final Fantasy

I'm not sure how a Metroid would would work as a character.

I hope Cranky Kong at least makes it in as an assist trophey.
 
Speaking of Sonic games and Shadow, I think Sega should retcon all but 90% of the Sonic Universe. It's too cluttered with clones and characters nobody cares about. The series has really hit the floor. I think it needs a franchise reboot, and the best way to do that is concentrate on gameplay and Sonic Vs. Robotnik endless struggle. Nintendo's has already used this successful formula for years with Mario Vs. Bowser (with a few deviations in between). It will never happen though because a lot of developers seem to not remember how to make a good Sonic game at Sega.

Has anyone here played Sonic Robo Blast 2? It's a fan game, and it's in 3D, but it's better than Sonic Adventure I'd say.

And WTF is up with "Eggman"? It seems like after he got that name he stopped with the evil plans and started just making easily defeatable situations.
