and to answer the question. allowing me my own music would allow m to put on actual 8bit tunes. I got the Super Mario Bros 3 tunes on my playlist I'd like to smash to that.
 
OP thanks for updating this thread so diligently. With every update, I become more and more excited! Less than 3 months to go....
 
I really love this. Clearly, music has always been a big part of the Smash Bros. franchise. The unprecedented stable of composers working on Brawl shows they understand that. But My Music shows that all of that music will be employed in a very slick and sensible way. By making music another in-game collectible and giving players a chance to essentially score each level by determining what music will be played, they've really helped elevate this aspect of the game and added a whole new dimension to the Nintendo homage that the game already represented. Now, not only are you collecting characters, stages, and items from your favorite games, but the music as well.

And I kind of like that some of it will be the same as it was heard in the original games. The orchestrations and reimaginings of old themes are great, but it'll be nice to have the option to listen to stuff as it was originally heard as well.

It's great that they have multiple songs for each game series and they let you choose between them, since most games would have given you one song per level. It's like Iwata gave them a blank check for the game development costs and just said "Go wild."
 
I WILL buy this OST, the music has been fantastic, probably my second favorite updates behind characters (cept the Pokemon music, the evolution music is tacked on).

Also looks like EB is trying to boost sales by photoshopping a wifi logo on

Hell, he said there would be un-remixed songs on there, so why wouldn't there be the original 8-bitness? I think it would allow for some good opportunities, but at the same taking a shit all over the composers' hard work when someone decides to put Fitty Cent or some shit on there. It's works on a generic game like ExciteTruck, but I'll be damned if it happens to Smash.

Now that you mention it, they do seem to have a quite a large budget.

That, or they wisely decided to put a greater than average emphasis on music.

Makes me wonder if they really have been working on some parts of the game for 6 years. [That's just speculation, though.]

This is a terrific feature. It's one of those "little things" that can be so easy to dismiss. So many big titles could be just a touch more with this kind of detail in the seemingly mundane things like background music, intelligent menus, customization of controls/setup, so on.

It's sometimes hard to tell if big games can live up to the expectations, but is there any doubt with SSBB? This game is just so deep, it's amazing. They're clearly working hard to make both casual players and dedicated brawlers happy with the newest in the series.

I was waiting for someone to say that.

I think the pokemon music fits really well, expect at the end..

About the last update, no one expects this is a hint to something bigger? I dont really think they would change the mario tornado into the smash down move.

Just played SSBM with 4 other actual people for the first time in over 3 years. It was so awesome (and I got my ass handed to me so bad), that I decided to drop everything and play SSBM again.

Hmm..the updates have not been all THAT exciting lately. But that's just my opinion, really.

This is good, though. We are bound for a real big update eventually :)

Criminy. This Pokemon coming in has nothing to do on whether or not Snorlax is still in the game.
