Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info

wow panda wiped the floor with me. Looks like I will be the morale troop in here making everyone feel good. jlarlee13 is my aim msg me if you guys want a game anytime but not tonight im off to bed

I give up. I tried joining Panda's game a couple times, disabled my firewall, tried it again and still nothing. And yet it was working perfectly with Strell the other day.

What gives?

Haha no worries. It was still fun.

GG too Rig, its too bad the lag was stupid as hell.

Has anyone gotten a string of games that were lag free yet?

Greet - I'm getting the same problems too, its why I created a room. I couldn't join anyone's game. GG Nintendo.
Must stay awake, must stay awake. Man, completing all these challenges gets really old quick, doing the same thing 35 times. I finished classic, level 1 target and level 2 target practices. I'm half way done with allstar mode. They should of made these challenge objectives harder with more time limit or get high scores rather beating it with all characters.
You know, you don't HAVE to beat all of the challenges right away.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm done unlocking stuff for the time being now that I've got all of the characters. It's going to take a long time to learn how to be decent (or, even better, good) with the newbies, and I'm going to focus on that instead of on trying to break every little pane of glass in that wall. I've got all the time in the world to do that. :D
I give up..... The Wi Fi mode is absolutely awful. I can't get a match and when I do it's laggy as fuck. It sucks.... I said it.
I've said it before, but keep in mind that it's a free service and that they're being absolutely hammered by all of the people who bought the game at launch. If it's still having issues in a few months, then I might change my tune...but I've already seen some improvement in the last day or so, so I think it's better to wait and see.

I'm trying to decide whether to take that as good or bad news...

Alright, I got an account set up on Skype, but unfortunately I don't have a working mic like I thought I did
I'll see if I can pick up a cheapo headset or something tomorrow after I get off work. Any CAG's have any recommendations or mind telling me their set-ups?

My Skype name is: liquid_audio
Is there a room set up for using skype or do you just call the individuals? I have no clue what i'm doing.
You start a one on one call and then you can invite more people to make it a conference call.

I got this game because i fell for all the hype and great reviews it got. After playing 2 days straight i can honestly say this game is one of the most frustrating games i have ever played. I have spent most of my time in the single player story mode. After going through the whole thing, which is the main reason for my frustration, i get this BS of a boss. I dont even know who the guy is. What a let down. I still dont see what is so great about this game. I can already see Angry Video Game Nerd tearing this game to shreds, if only he did current games.

Nice couple of games V. Mars, wish you would have stayed a bit longer because that room stayed busy for like 3 hours :)
Wooten.
Lol.
Good games.
Sorry about that last one. My brother wanted to be a jerk.
Hehe. Next time we play, we play stock.

Just finished doing all of the timed target test challenges. Quick tip on who to use:

Level 1- Fox
Level 2- Marth
Level 3- Pikachu
Level 4- Captain Falcon
Level 5- Ness

It almost seems that the levels were specifically made for these characters. This especially holds true for levels 2, 4, and 5.

I also finished the cruel and 15 minute multi-man melee challenges. Same tip for both:

Use Falco and quickly jump off the ledge. Use his Up +B to grab on to the ledge again, and then let go. Do this until the cruel alloys accidentally fall off and miss the ledge/ the 15 minutes are up.

I agree 100% and feel the same way.

this game to me is part fighting game and part platformer if your bad at one or the other or more of a purist in your game types I don't think you'll care for the game *shrug*. I"m finding it an interesting change over as a fighting game fan and I'm enjoying the balance of the chars. Another thing is you may just be using a char thats bad for your playstyle try a few more chars.

You didn't have any lag when we were playing yesterday, did you? It was silky smooth for everyone else.

Has anyone created any cool stages yet? I made one. Botticus, think I sent you it as well. If I did, did ya like it? :)

If anyone created any stages that are a good time AND we've exchanged Wii codes.. send me one :)
Wait.
You guys ganged up on me towards the end, right?
that was you guys?
And I Still won, I think...haha.
The first two games I won as GW, the last one some tard picked the laggy DK waterfall stage and it seemed like everybody was constantly running away from actual fighting since half the deaths were falling off the bottom of the screen. It cycled through the waterfall three times on a 3 stock match, but you won that one.

And no, nobody was "ganging up" lol. But that's funny since it was 4 random people from here, should ask them if they were :) They probably just got tired of doing all the fighting lol.
Sofa King, you probably have to beat SSE+20 event matches. Thats how I got it.
That is correct. You either need to finish up SSE + Events 1 through 20 (ALL OF THEM), OR 250 Brawl matches, OR you can finish SSE and unlock the character by going back.

You should probably take it back / trade it in. The game generated hype based on the rabid raving lunatic fanbase for Super Smash Bros. Melee (a group which I happen to belong to). Brawl wasn't an instant-love for me when I got it, as I'm so used to Melee, that my fingers respond based on the old timing that I am used to, and frustrate me a bit when things do not work. So far, I've only put 28 or so hours into the game, unlocked every character, and all but one stage.

If I may suggest something, however. Try it with a GameCube controller, and invite a few friends over. Super Smash Bros. was never a good single player experience, and Brawl doesn't change that on a grand scheme of things. I just simply happen to love what it does provide, as miniaturistic challenges, events, and what have you happen to be "my thing."

Well I still have a lot of awaiting registrations on my list I signed up everyone up to post 270. I am still adding people here is my info again if you add me PM me and I will add you .
^ In a month or so I'll lose interest in SSBB.
Sounds good. My list was getting full up anyway so I'll remove you now.

We could maybe try right now. My router is being kind of stupid. Even after I set a static IP for my system, the router changes it to "whatever" is next in the DHCP line. And that fucks everything up because the static is under DMZ, which appears to be the only way to get games to run.

If you're up for it, I'll try.
