Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info
Dude picks the worst stage ever, final destination.
That's not the worst stage. It's the fairest stage if you want to test out your skills.
At least your Sudden Death defeat was random. I ran right up to Peach or Zelda (can't remember) and got bitchslapped the fuck off the screen.
I'm not sure if it's the image that pops into my head, or just your way with words, but this is hilarious - I'm sigging.
Damn, I swear the game favors that guy. We do the exact same thing, yet a wall will assist him in character order.
What's your beef, dude? You're whining because you can't handle an honest beating?

And secondly, we are not doing the exact same thing. You're doing all the wrong moves when the opponent's percentage is high. You also don't charge your smash moves. You can't expect to knock someone out with AAA or Quick Dash.

Anyways, GG to Sean and Mush.

Whoa. Someone's super serious.

This game I am sorry to say pretty much sucks. It is a waste of 50.00. The online component works like shit, I find it so hard to find someone to play with. The co-op/campaign mode is so repetitive and just not fun nor interesting. This game is a complete button masher, seems like no skill required. Unlocking characters is a long and painful process. Overall this game is way over hyped, all the scores are bias in no way possible does this game deserve even in the 9's. My quality for the Wii has gone down once again. Nintendo needs to stop rehashing shit overall the game would get a 7.7 out of 10 from me.

Am I the only one who finds the computer to be a lot easier this time? Not that a level 9 in Melee was a huge challenge, but they seem significantly easier (Dragoon cheating aside) in Brawl. Part of that is how fucking much they suck at using Final Smashes, but even without that, the challenge of a level 9 - or level 9s - seems a lot lower.

The online does suck atm, hopefully they'll get that worked out. For now the best you can get out of online matches is have a little fun :)

As far as sidescrollers are concerned SSE is a decent single player game. However, the terrible camera system knocks most of the fun out of having 2 players unless you're fighting a boss (which there is a boss mode anyway).

The game is certainly not a button masher. Button mashing will only work if everyone else has no idea what they are doing and are also button mashing.

Unlocking the characters took no more than 2 days for me, a total time played of 9 hours. You could do it even faster using the flower/stamina thing. The process is far from painful, and by most people's standards, long.

To me, it sounds as though you have no friends to play with, and since the online mode pretty much fails when it comes to finding anonymous matches, you can't get any action there either. Almost all of the fun of SSB games comes from playing with other people.

I have been playing the game with my friend. The camera always seems to far and can't see who I am half the time. Online is broken like anything Nintendo does come on another person at my house can't be a guest and jump online with me. And co-op is tact on the 2nd player is such a scam not even funny, the hole 2nd player thing doesn't even allow you to open a door.

I'm positive you can do this. Might only be during friend matches, but I'm 100% sure you can have multiple people on one console play online matches.

The camera is barely any different from the last two games, so don't get the complaints there.

As for the co-op in SSE, I don't think Nintendo really meant for that to be an honest co-op thing. Aren't there specific co-op events and stuff in the game? It's like how Sonic 2 is "co-op," but really you just get to kill Tails over and over because he's annoying.

You must have been an only child, man.

troll?
Honestly, go play it with some friends.

Nah, its way too easy to spam on that stage, I would say something like battlefield as the most fair generic map.

Actually, my sister was the one who got the Genesis as a birthday gift. But really only I played it.

I mentioned numerous times in various capacities that people around me really don't game much.

But eh.

I've been playing it with friends, but it really isn't a 9 game just my opinion. Think about it if it wasn't for Nintendo name on it no way is this game a 9. It is a solid game, but not a game that is on the scale of any other game that is a 9.

I'm not sure why this gets said for Smash more than any other fighting game.

I sure know that I would never play a Tekken/SoulCal/DOA for 500+ hours over the course of its life and have as much fun doing it. Plus, this has more modes/features than most of those games do.

That, and if you remove the fighters from any game and replace them with others, wouldn't they all be less fun? You get used to a character franchise. To take them out of any series would make any game less fun.

Not trying to argue with you; I just always wonder why Smash gets this said about it more than anything else.

Problem solved, next!
I'm not picking this up until Friday...any chance someone can clue me in to the starting roster?
Go to www.smashbros.com
Clink on characters link
Everyone other than Sonic, Snake, and the ? spaces are the starting roster

So apparently both people need to be online for them to show up as registered?

I'll be AFK on Smash Bros then... see if I can get the 35+ people to show up as registered.

Is anyone playing tonight? I could, but it requires going to get my system and hooking it up. Not going to bother with it unless I'm sure there's matches to be had.

Good game to Yukine! For some reason, my little connection circle of you is red, yet I noticed relatively little lag. Oh well.

Again, good game.

So, who is getting on now? Is there room for me to join?

Any good tips for boss battles? I beat it on easy but that was even a challenge. I can beat the big plant, and both flying birds pretty damn easy with little damage. but those big ass machines i have trouble with. The hands are sometimes hard. Anyway, any good character/moves i can do to get some advantage?

Yeah, good games. Even though I got my ass kicked for the most part, I'm still a newb so I'm still trying to figure out which character I'm most comfortable with. I'm leaning towards Link at the moment.
