Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info
Any good tips for boss battles? I beat it on easy but that was even a challenge. I can beat the big plant, and both flying birds pretty damn easy with little damage. but those big ass machines i have trouble with. The hands are sometimes hard. Anyway, any good character/moves i can do to get some advantage?
I found that those stages drop a fair amount of firearm based weapons. Hang back and wait for an opening (unless its a timed boss, then well... Good luck).

I don't think any items are dropped on Boss Battles.

So, does anyone else have urges to play other games after a long session of Brawl? I don't mean that in a bad way towards Brawl.
What I mean is that after playing several matches with Samus/ZSS and playing on Norfair (I love that stage!), it makes me want to play Metroid Prime 3 again. I never tried the GBA Metroids, so it's making me want to get them (especially the one with ZSS). Makes me wanna get Phantom Hourglass because of Toon Link..hell, I even have an urge to pick Nintendogs back up

This is craziness. I hope I'm not alone in this.
I'm currently on sitting with a room if anyone feels like some late night play. I'm also on skype (scurker) if you want some trash talkin'.
ill add u

All of the awesome F-Zero music included in the game made me find a copy of F-Zero GX for the GameCube. Eight bucks well spent. I still want to find a copy of F-Zero X for the N64, too.
ill add u
Got ya. Just had to clean someone.

I really hate that they've limited us to 64 friends when I've already filled my list up in less than a week...

I imagine you would know this, and you probably are looking for a physical copy of that game, however if you can't find one for a good price it IS available on the Virtual Console for $10. But you may know that.
Stupid question, but how do you add a space for taunts and the comment section?
its the very top left thing with the @ symbol

made another room btw

Actually, I didn't. I haven't really kept up with the Virtual Console other than the first few months after the Wii was launched. Thanks for the info.

Extremely laggy matches tonight (with a friend). I think I'm gonna send the port list to my friend, who was playing at the time.

Well then I'd say you should pick that up! $10 isn't a bad price..plus you can play it right there on your Wii :D

..As a Wii owner, you should def stop by the Wii Shop thread at least every Monday just to see if something peaks your interest

What's that? :whistle2:s
/retard

lol. Man, I have the worst luck with requesting an exchange of FCs, and then having the other party abandon his or her computer. It's happened almost every night this week.

That's right, people! I play Brawl (just about) every night! Add me!

EDIT: Posted at the same time. If that isn't the epitome of cosmic irony...

After playing Brawl, it makes me want to start Wind Waker all over again.
After playing Brawl, it makes me want to start Wind Waker all over again.
I actually just started playing Wind Waker about an hour ago. Though, for me, it's not "again"

Interesting - I did the Boss Battles with Fox (as I was trying to unlock Wolf at the time) and found everything pretty damn easy up until Tabuu of course. Why? Because you can sit on one side and nail them with Fox's blaster. So if anyone is having trouble try it with Fox or Wolf I guess.

I finally got the hang of the home run contest and racked up all the unlockables for that (I think). It took me a while to nab the 1500 m one but after getting a 1499.6 I managed to do it a few tries later ;). I hope there isn't another beyond that!

Oh, and man, that sailing in Wind Waker is a tedious chore, ain't it? ;)
(Actually, WW is the only Zelda game I've ever finished)
fucking Linksys....
?
I have a Linksys and I seem to be ok. Are Linksys' not working properly with this??

Yeah im actually going to borrow wind waker from my nephew and start it up. I never finished it the first time i had it. hehe

As for SSBB, i dont see how this game gets a 9.5. The game is fun, has a nice roster, and lots of modes....but its nothing near the 9.5 rating it has gotten. The single player story mode was really frustrating, the end was repetitive, the end boss was lame, and it just wouldnt even be worth 30 bucks alone on its own. The solo modes are fun and good. Online was lag. I only played about 10 games online, but the controls vs what showed up on screen were a few seconds off. Moves sometimes didnt register...sometimes i would smash someone and you could see it go right through them yet nothing would happen and then i would end up getting hit and KO'd. I mean seriously this game is no where near a 9.5. It could have better story mode, tighter controls, better fighting collisions, and more. There is a lot of room for improvement. Dont mean to bash the game, and im not trying to act cool by saying im not really impressed. I do think its a really good game, but not worthy of 9.5 rating.
I've never had much trouble with Boss Battles, even on Very Hard I only had to continue once (on Tabuu, of course).

Maybe I am awesome?
But you cant continue on boss battles. :whistle2:#

My problem in the higher difficulties is that I use Lucas and am particularly fond of PK Thunder. Duon and that pokemon whose name I won't attempt to spell move across the board to much and I'm vulnerable after using PK Thunder. Most everyone else I can get through without getting hit.
So is three-stock, eight minutes the typical tourney rules now? I've still been playing four-stock... heh.
Yeah, EVO rules, or whatever, has the new tourney rules at 3 stock, since matches tend to last longer now. Which is understandable, since the new average health span has been bumped to like, 180 percent?
Wind Waker = my favourite game evah. Enjoy.

And if you complain about the sailing, I will hurt you.
Am I one of the few people in the world that enjoyed the sailing in WW? It was so much fun to me!

Sailing would have been better if there weren't any obstacles or enemies, cuz then you could let it sail on its own and go get a drink or something without worrying about dying.

A good captain never takes his hands off the wheel.

I would buy a Wii, a copy of Smash, 9 controllers, a 52" TV and a surround sound system if they put Earthworm Jim in Smash.
Your mom's a good captain with my wheel.
WHY YOU SON OF A.....

Wait, that doesn't even make sense.

I've loved EVERY smash bros ever made, 64 was a good start, and Melee really kicked it up a notch. in my opinion is was almost a perfect game, so how do you possibly improve on near perfection? you need more characters. I like some of the new ones, but they could of put in SO many more characters. why is master hand not a playable character?! (for example)

Some of the stages in this one are too "busy" a lot of them its way too easy to get killed by the level.

I still love this game, but it seems like it could of been better.

I am having a hard time beating all these modes with everyone.
There's like.. no incenntive but A trophy for this stuff. Now I am determined to collect everything, however, at least in Melee you could unlock people. I just didn't like that it was really easy to unlock everyone in this game.. :(

Didn't you have to beat Adventure + Classic mode with EVERYONE to unlock Mr Game & Watch (in Melee)

I believe for game and watch it was the same thing as in brawl (beat all the break the targets with each character)

No, it's to meet his ass in the SSE. Or play 'X' vs Matches.

In all fairness, if you didn't unlock characters through the SSE, then people would probably complain about no incentive to go through that. :p

I just hooked up the N64 and played the original smash. My how things have changed.
