Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Gen. Discussion & Info

Yeah good games, I enjoyed being the jigglypuff that wouldnt die. Even after being spiked down by strell's ice climbers at 110%+ into the abyss on Yoshi's island, managed to puff back up.
 
I haven't played brawl since the 30th. I don't think I'm gonna bet back into the online anytime soon. Just wanted to give a heads up to people who might have me on their list and need to make room.
 
Big tournament in San Antonio this weekend. The best from Houston and Dallas are traveling to it.

I'll probably be teaming up with LeeHarris and his gigantic balls again :p

Today's tournament was a bloodbath. Between the 4 or 5 of the top 5 from the 4 big cities in Texas, there were very few bad players. Even with the seeding, ranked players were dropping as early as the 2nd round. I got to the 3rd round and took 2 consecutive losses from characters I had never played before (IC, Jiggly).

Houston's top player RoyR(Marth) singlehandedly murdered most of the top MK players in Texas. Theres a new setup that completely turns the table on that matchup.

I think MK has hit a wall where they are being beat by Snake, Falco, Marth and G&W too much. He might just be the noob killer.

It was real depressing.
 
I still need to figure out if I can get online. I tried getting on yesterday, but I was disconnected. Anyway, I seem to be coming back to this game more and more lately.

Also, Wired Nintendo launch GameCube controller FTW. I popped this guy back in and I just destroyed 3 level 9 CPU's (Not on a team). With a Wavebird a few months ago I was having trouble with 3 level 6 CPU's.

I tried to see if I could fix anything and then rejoin but I keep getting denied.
 
I'm sorry! Well, good couple of games, then! Too bad there was so much lag, but we were pretty even nonetheless.

GGs currently to Daisy and Hero. I seem to be getting tossed around a lot tonight! :D
 
I would, but let's be honest: tonight I wouldn't even be a challenge. Just ask Daisy and Hero - they're whooping on me. :lol: I'll promise to catch you on another night! For now, I'm going to bed! :D
 
Alright, we'll save it for another day. I just need a down to the wire match to work on my abilities. Only a handful of CAG's can take me down, you happen to be one of them ;)

Falcon is an IC counter? o_O

Hylian has personally taken me out of 2 tournaments, but they went to tiebreaker sets both times. I figure he would be #3 or #4 in Texas behind Melee1 and possibly Sethlon(Falco)

RoyR is likely the best player in Texas, and one of the best Marth's period. Even though he lost this one, he has beaten two people who have beaten Melee1 before. He just doesnt play broke enough characters :roll:
 
GG to Joe and Janet for last night (well it was this morning for me). I had some wins but I doubt I go well as either one 1 vs 1 against either one. At that time I was more scared of Janet than Joe. :cool: Janet seems to do some Jedi Mind tricks against me. She reads me too well that I have to change my strategy at times. My lil Link vs. her Marth seemed like a teasing match in my mind. Link's sword is like half the size of Marth and with less reach. I did a little better near the end but I still lost. I need a training partner. :bomb:

Only had the game for about a week, took me a couple days to realize their awesomeness.

Also, Cruel Brawl is a pain in the ass, I get tossed out on 1 hit half the time and so far I've only been able to take out three guys.

Cruel Brawl is amazingly hard. I only beat like 4 of those super strong baddies. Or rather they fell in the hole chasing me.
 
I'll be back for playing Brawl once I get my Wii hooked up to my CRT TV. It's just that MGS4 and summer courses have distracted me. That and I'm kinda lazy to set it up when I can just use my sister's Wii on my HDTV, though I've only played it a few times.

Edit: I'd really like to battle JoeB (we almost never do 1v1's lol) and Daisydog (I know you've gotten even better)!
 
Whoa, this forum went through some changes.

I really should get back into brawl, but getting a job and changing my entire sleep schedule has done a number on me. Maybe I'll hop on tonight or tomorrow and see how much my skills have atrophied and how much better you've all gotten!

I'd play tonight, but I have a terrible headache, and I don't do well unless I'm feeling good. I know, incomprehensible, huh?
