If you want me to play controller as well, that's fine. I honestly start button mashing when I'm given a pad. I don't know how some people are so good with them.

Finally got my new hard drive installed. I'm currently downloading Street Fighter and would love a match. I'm garbage though. Mostly have played as Ken and Honda. So add me and I'll catch you on there later.

BTW, sorry Option, was playing a family game of Jeopardy on PSN. I'll be around once I get done playing Little Big Planet with the girlfriend.
 
np guys, sorry if I sent out one too many invites, I'll refrain from doing it too many times from now on. Also wouldn't mind handicapped games as well. I'll definitely be on for most of tonight. oh boy, option iv pretty much handed my ass back to me :). GGs man. You annihilated me with your unstoppable Ken. lol, I still don't know how I pulled that guile super at the end of the match.

Ran into two disconnectors today. One of them I perfected twice after he got me once.

Also sorry I left option, the life bar glitch was happening again and it was annoying.

I really do hope they come out with some sort of patch to fix this. But hasnt it been a month already and no word of such a thing?
 
GGs Roa, you really kicked my ass. :) Your Vega is very good (...and pretty much everyone you chose on the roster, lol). I need to put in more practice. I can't wait for the sf4 te stick. Playing on a pad gives my thumb blisters :cry:

I'm hoping to get this soon so I can join you guys. I only have it on the Xbox now. What do you guys recommend I look into as far as arcade sticks? I know the Street Fighter 4 ones are coming, but seem a little pricey. Got any recommendations for lower priced, but quality alternatives?
 
Well I see the last page has some stick recommendations. Any specific deals or anything going on now? What about the $150 sticks would make them worth the jump in quality? Any sticks that can work on the Xbox and Playstation?
 
Lower priced and quality are mutually exclusive in terms of arcade sticks. If you want a good one you can either build it yourself or pay a fair amount of money. The closest thing to a balance I can see at the moment is the upcoming US release of the HRAP3. Here's the Amazon link...

The stick is a Sanwa arcade model while the buttons are Hori ones. The quality is good to start and the stick is easy to mod in the future if you decide you want better buttons.
 
Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather have Sanwa buttons and a Hori stick. When changing out default Hori parts, much of the difference was felt in the buttons for me.

If you decide to switch out the buttons, it'd be around $25+ at lizardlick for a full 8 button set.

btw, what are the parts on the madcatz sticks? madcatz? They're not Sanwa, are they?

edit: nvm, the TE one has sanwa parts.

I agree with Mana for the most part. Perhaps we can get 2 hosts for both days (4 total). That way, if one host is absent then we have a backup for CAGs to still play together. I am also in favor of Quarter Match over Tournament Mode since CAGs can hop in-and-out of matches whereas Tourney requires some patience to gather everyone necessary.

If anyone wants to host, feel free to volunteer.
 
I'm going to start playing it again online some day. I got a couple of invites from option,but never said anything or joined. Sorry about that. I'll play someday.
 
I love playing this game, but I get absolutely dominated.

Would there be any consideration for possibly having two games going at once on designated game nights? Intermediate and Up in Group 1 and Beginner/Noobs up to Mediocre in Group 2? Just an idea.

From my experience, it was a little hard to get anyone for a tournament. I'd say make it strictly quarter match. And ty evergoo for updating the OP.

@cart: I suggest handicap matches, since it'd be kind of hard to separate people by skill level. I really don't mind fighting against a strong handicapped person. They're all friendly matches anyway. And sorry about missing your message, I was watching some foosball.

ggs refusedchaos, was really fun. Be sure to ice those thumbs, haha. I bet they'll be tough as nails in no time.

ggs mdamore, crazy last match we had. That finishing SPD was epic.

Thanks for the matches and for sticking around Beef. I thought that was a good place to end it. I wasn't fleeing! Also, the more you play the better you'll get so don't worry about it. In case you're wondering, my main in HD Remix is most likely Ryu.
 
Oh, don't worry about me, I had a blast. I still need to practice c.jab into s. hammer with Tony Hawk, but it looks like I need to work on Guile as well. :lol:

How is this game with connection quality? I have both the PS3 version and the 360 version and haven't really been able to compare. I'm wondering when thinking about which verson of SFIV to get.
 
So far, I haven't seen anything too horrible in terms of lag. At the most, the game will sometimes auto-disconnect the two players, other times, you'll have to power through it. Of course, this all depends heavily on your own internet connection.
