Super Street Fighter IV - Arcade Edition DLC Out Now & Retail Disc Out Now!
Do you really want one? I think I have an extra.

Just the guide section. Sooner rather than later, since they're starting to pull the guides. It's a universal price, so if a BestBuy has it in stock, it's a penny regardless of what the sticker says.
Waaaaaant.

Remember that time I bought you Super Street Fighter II Turbo High Definition Remix? Yes, there were totally strings attached. I guess this is the only time I can throw out the Super Street Fighter II Turbo High Definition Remix card though. Although I don't know what else I'd want from you. Cookies maybe? I would like a cookie.
Sent a request to CAG Scrub Club
I think Guardian is right. The reason I made CAG Fighter IV was so everyone could play together and the lower level players could level up.

Besides, I think most of the scrubs have stopped playing the game.

I wish we played more High Definition Remix .

Shoutouts to Guardian for the heads up on the strategy guide. I managed to pick up what looked to be the last one at my Best Buy on the way home today for a penny. They were in the process of doing a major reset of the store - maybe that means the stack of Tekken 6 LE bundles they have will be dropping soon .
Any word on when the DLC (or in my case the free patch so I can see the other costumes) will get on the marketplace unglitched?
Capcom addressed it on Capcom-Unity, and said it's now been fixed.

Glad you got yourself a copy. I am currently learning what an Ultra combo is.

By the way, has anyone seen the latest Japanese tier list for October 2010? Very... surprising. Charge characters dominating, apparently.

Adapted Super Street Fighter 4 Tier List Summary

 1. Honda
 2. M. Bison
 3. Guile
 4. Chun-Li
 5. Balrog
 6. Cammy
 7. Ryu
 8. Abel
 9. Dhalsim
 10. Rufus
 11. Sagat
 12. Seth –
 13. Akuma
 14. Fei Long
 15. Ken
 16. Rose
 17. Blanka
 18. Zangief
 19. Dee Jay
 20. Adon
 21. Ibuki
 22. Vega
 23. Cody
 24. C. Viper
 25. El Fuerte
 26. Dudley
 27. Gouken
 28. Juri
 29. T. Hawk
 30. Sakura
 31. Guy
 32. Gen
 33. Dan
 34. Hakan
 35. Makoto
"In the middle of the pack come all the characters you hate fighting against, with little scoring difference seen between what would be the B and D tiers. In fact, there is as little as 20% overall rating difference between the highest ranked characters and the majority of the cast. Suffice it to say, whether you agree with this specific list or not, Super Street Fighter 4 remains one of the most balanced games since Pong.**

That is, unless you're Guy, Gen, Dan, Hakan, or Makoto. These little-played pugilists are all vying for Fail Tier, with over a 25% spread from the game's strongest contenders. Granted, even that's not a big spread. But with a majority of 3-7 and 4-6 matchups, maining these characters may result in more of an uphill battle than is typically desirable."

I think Cammy's tier placement is solely because of Sako:

It's a beautiful thing.

Wednesday night was fun, and my 2 wins out of 50 tries were heart pounding. i was going to leave eventually and i lost connection to internet. got it back last night...

this is just sarcasm BS000 but don't play as sakura against me ever again mmmmk :p. i dont have anyway capturing to put that match on youtube but every single second of that round that happened there was no pause in any string and every second there was orange on the screen. i think i held back on the analog for 5 second straight and still got nothing. you probably got a combo of like 40 hits. considering the beat down i was on a very thin threshold on throwing my controller.

and i thought you couldn't block focus attack (guardian was crouch blocking a couple of them)

i can now block 1 out of 5 attacks, my record before was 0/5, improving :p

Sakura's kind of an anomaly. The majority of her game is based on mixup/resets, so for someone who can't block very effectively she's a nightmare. Holding back on the analog stick only goes so far. When they're in the air, you need to hold straight back, when they're on the ground, you want to hold down-back. It's a good rule of thumb for people starting out. She also has very good block strings. In some cases, especially online, nothing short of a reversal will break through if she's doing them correctly..

Look back at the replay. I don't remember it too well, but I can guarantee that he did a neutral jump heavy kick into crouching fierce into EX-Tatsu (spin kick), then jumped to hit you in the air, then likely did it again once you landed. The air hit, and mixup thereafter, is effectively what is called a "reset" which is not a true combo (you can see on the side where it reads "5 hit combo" or whatever which shows whenever a combo has ended). Sakura lands before you, and she has all viable knockdown options (a. throw, b. reveral, c. overhead, d. dash under crossup, etc etc). It becomes a guessing game. As a general rule of thumb, if the "5 hit combo" text comes up, you could have blocked something but didn't.

Only Level 3 Focus Attacks (fully charged) break a block. All others can be blocked.

You rage quit wrong Guardian. We both had liek 1% life left. The truly scrubby thing to do would've been to mash SRK to try to chip, and THEN rage quit. Just for future reference :D

Splitt, you've got to learn how to block high, and block low, and how to block cross-ups :p

I raaaaaaaged because I missed my Ultra punish, but it took me a second to quit to find the right button.

I've always had issues with spacing/range in general, but the last few nights have been worse than usual. I dunno if I need to get my eyes checked or what. I lost count how many cross ups/throws I missed.

Splitt: Echoing what bs & Guardian are saying - block more, jump less. You got a little better with the blocking as the night went on, but definitely work on the high/low game. Cross-ups can be very tricky but remember that you always have to block AWAY from the opponent. Too much jumping will definitely get you killed, especially if you do it from far away into a range where you can get anti-aired.

TooLate: Why did you leave us so early .

Phrost: Hit me up when you get back. We've only played a handful of games but I remember you have a pretty good Blanka and I definitely need more experience in that match.

Too each his own, but i dont see how someone going 20+ wins on a casual fight night is in good spirit, but hey.

Also, I want to play BBCS sometime.

I wasn't even using my mains most of the night it's not my fault D:

D::::::::::::

And screw sandbagging. I'm not going to throw a round just because I feel like I'm winning too much. I used to do that alot so the other guy wouldn't rage. Occasionally I'd even end up losing the match because of it. So yea, screw that. I don't sandbag for anyone.

I can totally understand that. At the same time, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

I'm down for BBCS. Just send me a message when you'd like to play. Maybe we can play next week.

bs is totally free at that game :bouncy:

decided to play some. not a soul online wtf? keeps searching and finding no one. even custom. so i decided to play arcade and let the game find me an online match. i fought this same ryu player online 4 times. well he kept doing shourken and hydouken
1 time: i rage quit
2 time: he won
3 time: he won
4 time: i changed from sakura to Adon and got some lucky dodges with adons moves (ultra over his fireball spam)

so sick of this game.

the game thinks im doing something when I CLEARLY DOESN'T WANT TO. stop putting those fucking sunglasses on guile and stop bunny hopping you bitch sakura

i know you people are telling me to stop jumping. WELL hack the game so there is no jumping and then my problem is solved. when i press > forward 50% of the time IM STILL PRESSING F'up

i cant even beat rivals on arcade medium the CPU ryu trapped me in a corner and unloaded, the cpu ryu even spams shourkens, blanka did the same spam with slide and electric crap

IF they release a mode where theres no jumping and limited move usage then I'll come back :p

if you cant ollie you cant skate, if you cant get past the fundamentals of controlling your character in SF you cant play SF

Picked this up from Target on the cheap. Looking for matches.

I. Suck. You will win. I just like playing and learning little by little.

You are on my friends list from way back when, when SF4 came out. lets play sometime.

Yeah I'll hit you guys up when I get back for sure... although... I'm pretty sure Fallout: New Vegas is waiting for me.

Roses: I'm here just relaxing.. hitting up the beaches.. visiting my numerous family members, however... I kind of had an "awakening" of sorts while here. I'm going to leave my shitty American life behind and become an Israeli (dual) citizen/join the army. I figure with my knowledge of English and my college degree.. I have something to offer the nation. I talked to one of the Commanders in a northern city I was visiting and he pretty much told me that with my qualifications I'll be allowed to enter any division I want.

I wasn't really doing much of anything back in the states... hated my job.. had problems with my girlfriend. I think this will be a nice change of pace for me. I'm going to have to learn Hebrew which will take a few months.. I'll probably bring my Xbox along as to get some SF in. :]

Damn dude. That's some crazy shit. Glad you kicked the junk... though I guess that means fewer awesome quotes for cagfight :(

Sorry Chac.. you win some you lose some (a lot of those cagfight guys are true douches anyway haha). I'm glad as well.. I'm no longer with my girl now... so while that's another loss, at the same time I've afforded myself the freedom to move without too much emotional attachment. So.. hopefully that'll end up a gain. :]

Be careful, there are a lot of crazy people in that area. Some so fanatical that they make weeaboos look tame, bro.

Oh, and you'll need a voltage converter and plug adapter to use your Xbox there, since Israel is 230 V, if you didn't know.

Stay kosher, baby.
Are you using a stick or a controller? I've never heard of anyone having this problem. I'd suggest working on non-jumping in training mode if you haven't already.
controller

The cookie was so smashed that it took me a few minutes to figure out what it is. I guess I can mix the crumbs into a cup of milk or something.

Exactly why I'm planning on joining the military here. I feel a duty to contribute in whatever way I can.

You sure about the voltage converter? I've been using my laptop here with only a power outlet adapter and it hasn't exploded yet... you think the Xbox would explode?

One way to find out.

For a few moments I thought it may have been feces. Then I thought, "Is he really salty enough to have his dog poop in a sandwich bag and mail it to me?" And then, "I hope these are chocolate chips and not rat droppings."

Oh look, frame data. Exactly what I wanted. Is this information accurate?

You said you wanted a cookie. It was, at one point, a gooey cookie. I cannot make assertions about its state upon arrival. It did pass customs, though.

There seems to be some conflicting reports about the frame data in the guide. I haven't had a chance to confirm it with data online. I just bought it for the pretty pictures.

I remember hearing the frame data in the original guide was inaccurate but I don't know about the Super guide. Who cares though? The cover is shiny and it only cost a penny.

So who's up for some games this week? I definitely want to see this Guardian/Inthul replay.

Depending on the DOTD for it today, I might pick this up. I can *guarantee* you will all crush me, as I can't even play Super Smash Bros. Brawl, let alone a traditional fighting game. :) Still, I've got a nifty HORI HRAP EX-SE (or is it SE-EX) which I bought for shmups and classics, but have been thinking about getting this game just to give it a shot with that stick.

Oh, I just saw this post. I probably should have put it in a container or something. I was pressed for time, though.

No, you don't. No one wants to see that travesty. It's like a car wreck without the cool slow mo effects.

Cool. Send a friend request to CAG FIGHTER IV. That way, you can view the tag's friends and send invites to people who are playing. I'm always down for a game or two usually.

I'm also planning on being on later tonight. It will likely be an ugly display so, if you're sick of losing, feel free to send a game invite my way.

Hey lolwut, thanks for the messages. We'll battle someday. Not tonight but soon.

I used the time to practice. I need to learn the exact timing for buffering moves and stuff. I never seem to remember having trouble in the past, but the last time I truly played SF was back during the SF2 arcade days. So what the hell would I know from back then?
