Surprisingly The Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck Pt. 2
Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky - Amazingly awesome and over-the-top.

Lockout - Despite Maggie Grace being in the movie, it was a huge pile of shit.
Something about this statement bothers me.
Almost watched Schindler's List, but once I saw it was in black and white I turned it off.

Black and white movies suck.
Everything I say bothers you.
Maybe you should start having better opinions that I could agree with.

Between this and your tirades in the Xbox thread about retail games, I'm convinced at this point that you've gone full troll.

I just have strong factual opinions. I can't help it.
Is there some joke I'm missing in this thread? We aren't really getting pissy over black and white films right?
I admit i got a bit upset, but I've calmed down now.

Just because not every post he makes is serious, doesn't mean he's a troll.

No, the fact that he's posting things just to get a rise out of people makes him a troll.

As opposed to what? Half-troll?

As opposed to only making a troll comment here or there, every post you make is trying to troll people.

You can't make people like something, so who cares? All I know is I'll be buying Schindler's List in March. Think the last time I saw it was high school, so it'll be like seeing it for the first time heh.

dredd and total recall were no good. I would have liked dredd but someone said it was like the raid redemption. Yeah, it's not like that at all. They were in a building..Total recall was just meh.

Batman dark knight rises part 2 was awesome. Dunno if I liked 1 more but it was still great. A lot of conclusive shit happens which was just great to watch.
Flight - Pretty good. I liked how it ended.
This one dragged on for me. It started out pretty fast paced with the cliche classic rock songs and intense crash scene. I forgot the plot and was figuring it for a conspiracy type mystery. Then there was 90 minutes of driving home the flaw to Denzel's character that could have been done in maybe 45?

It definitely had points that dragged.

I just liked the end because
he got caught.

Maniac- A horror film starring Elijah Wood as a creepy little serial killer fuck. It's cold and twisted and had me squirming during some kills. Aside from the creepy stalking and such we get to see why he maybe became who he is as well as the struggles he deals with and his general insanity. To me nothing goes into crazy detail so it's kind of a concept of a movie rather than a fully fleshed out psychological horror. Still anybody into slashers/horrors will have a good time. Oh and the camera is mostly from the killers view. Probably part of what makes the movie chilling.
Uh, I'm not sure when this film gets a wide release in the States or if it will but if you get a chance check it out.

No. I knew this was a remake but I literally knew nothing about the original nor this movie. Simply saw it was playing in a theater I frequent and looked at the trailer and the general consensus on Rotten Tomatoes and thought to myself that this is something to keep me busy until I can see Silver Linings Playbook at the end of the month.

Just saw Schindlers List last year for the first time. Awesome movie. Are they releasing it on Bluray or something? Hope it comes with lots of features. That movie really had me question whether
a person really is a good person if they start out evil and change to good.

Yep.

That sucks re the new Die Hard. Heard elsewhere it wasn't any good either. Is it me or were action movies much better in the 80s and 90s and slightly better in the early 00s?
Ted was like a love action episode of Family Guy but dirtier with a little bit of actual heart. Worth a watch.
Ted was pretty good, but it was horrible because Marky Mark should of never been cast.. He just didn't fit this role and that made a movie with potential SUCK

Some of that I'm guessing is nostalgia.

The 80s had a lot of great action films. They also had Dune, Conan the Destroyer, Rambo 2 and 3, Red Sonja, Tango and Cash, Superman 3 and 4, Cobra, and an ugodly number of action movies so banal that I can't even remember their names. The 90s had a whole host of great action films. And also Street Fighter, Judge Dredd, Escape from LA, The Specialist, Robocop 2 and 3, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Mortal Kombat, Alien 3, Episode I, Highlander 2 and 3, and again, a whole bunch of movies too boring to even remember. The early 2000s had a lot of great action films. They also had Episode II, Dungeons and Dragons, Terminator 3, Starship Troopers, Catwoman, a shitload of awful Paul Anderson movies, Die Another Day, Alien Vs Predator, and Aliens Vs Predators. The last five years have had a lot of bad action films. They've also had The Raid, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Dredd, Rambo, Machete, Iron Man, The Avengers, District 9, Attack the Block, Kick-Ass, Watchmen, and Expendables 2.

In other words, yeah, there's some nostalgia and confirmation bias going on.

I love you so hard because of this post.

Hotel transylvania - it's pretty good. Hit and miss on some jokes but overall it was good. Paranorman was good as well. Starts off slow but picks up a bit.

I was surprised how many 'adult' themes there were in Paranorman. Refreshing kids movie.

I saw Skyfall last night. I was never a huge Bomd fan, but I don't get the love for these movies. For what should be an action movie series I always find these movies too long and slow.

Watched Commando for the first time.

Didn't think it was particularly good. Didn't mind the firefight near the end, but most of it was pretty terrible.

Starship Troopers is a movie I didn't understand at first until I watched it a few times. Whenever someone just talks about it being an alien bug movie, I realize that they probably only saw it once.

You kinda have to view it as an action comedy with a focus on the comedy. It's gets much better from that perspective and is one of my favorite movies.

I just couldn't get into it, and I learned part of the way through it was more comedy than action. But I just thought a lot of the one liners weren't funny, hated the female partner, and the villain was pretty awful. Just couldn't like it. Though the shed scene with the saws was awesome.

Haha...yeah, it's not for everybody. Acting was HORRIBLE. Total Recall was much more polished as an action comedy.

Speaking of action comedies, saw Showtime with De Niro and Murphy again and it's still hilarious.

Is Commando the one with the overweight Australian Freddie Mercury in chainmail? If so, the whole damn movie is worth it for that character alone.

Lol, that would be it. And he's a character all right. HE DON'T NEED NO GUN! Except when it's to shoot someone between the balls.
