Surprisingly The Last Movie You Saw Didn't Suck Pt. 2
saw some grainy still of that wasnt too impressed guess ill need to rent the br when it comes out lol. still remember her in that pie dive outfit.
I wasn't impressed by the stills either and then remembered she had her cell phone hacked and was naked before already and she was way thinner. Some people like that some don't but I thought the cell pictures were amazing. She also had long hair.
Bored To Death (HBO Series):
Apt title. Despite being a big fan of Jason Schwartzman in Huckabees and all the Wes Anderson movies as well as most of Zach Galifinakis's stuff, this show just drags and sort of annoys me.
yes. I know people who loved this show and i never got it. I barely kept it in my rotation for two seasons. It wasn't a terrible or terribly written show. It just didn't interest me. Not on a high level, not on a low level.

Your Highness - 2/10

I really really wish that the yahoo that posted about this in here (don't remember who) would've said start this movie from mid point because it would've saved ALOT of time... also then I could have given it a 3/10. Portman did help.

My wife went to see Magic Mike with her girlfriends. She actually said it was terrible and it even cured her of her "crush" on Matthew McKindOfGay (my name for him, not hers).

Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows -

A very good film. Harris was cast perfectly as the maniacal Prof. Moriarty (sure he could have been more maniacal but you don't want to overdue it). Law and Downey Jr. continued to play their roles very well. Frye and Rapace were good as well. The story is influenced by "The Final Problem" in that it features Moriarty and it ends similar. However, it was a wholly original story line that I enjoyed.

Watched a couple $.99 Amazon rentals:

The Sitter- Not very good. There were a few funny parts here and there but it was pretty cliche for the most part. I wasn't expecting much and it delivered exactly what I was expecting, not much...

Capitalism: A Love Story- Phenomenal movie. My opinion is likely shaded by the fact that it summed up my thoughts and feelings about the country and economy of the last few years but it was definitely interesting and entertaining. I've never previously felt so strongly for a Michael Moore movie but this one really hit home for me.

Alien. I finally watched it, though I wonder what and when people of my age and demographic have actually seen this movie. If I could compare it to any movie, it is very much like the first Terminator, where scary stuff happens all the time, though the beginning was a bit boring. Years of watching tv, especially the Simpsons, have ruined much of the horror for me, but damn is it still terrifying.

Safe House. It was alright. Formulaic and predictable, but still fairly entertaining.

Chronicle. Liked it more than I thought I would. One of the better found footage type movies IMO.

The Big Year was kind of charming, but the dry humor was more aimed at a niche crowd rather than the audience. Still charming, like Darjeeling Limited or Royal Tenenbaums but not as funny.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on the other hand had great buildup but a disappointing reveal and equally bad ending. I'm guessing this is meant to be a series?

It is a trilogy of books.

Conan The Barbarian - 2.5/5 - I wanted to really like it, and I did like some aspects of it like Jason Mamoa, but the movie is just flat most of the time. The pacing is the biggest problem in my eyes. I really didn't need to spend 40-60 minutes getting to know Conan as a kid. Also, I though the narration by Morgan Freeman was really weird.

Beasts of the Southern Wild - A unique tale of a little girl dealing with abrupt changes to her environment and a very bizarre family dynamic. I did like it but I don't think I would recommend it as a film for entertainment. It is definitely well made and if you watch you will have an emotional reaction because they give you a lot of time understanding these characters. Still, something was missing. Perhaps the fantastical stuff in the film didn't work out all the way. Maybe it didn't need to be there. In a weird way it sort of reminds me of Slumdog Millionaire. Constant struggles that a strong character deals with.

The Amazing Spiderman

Enjoyed the movie, very easy watch. AG and ES were good together on screen. Much better spiderman than Toby in my opinion.

Ice Age 4 Continental Drift

Sucked! Buck was the only character to make the last one what it was.

Short film "The Longest Day" featuring Maggie from The Simpsons was the highlight.

Super slow intro. Was annoyed by all the music "star" voices. Niki Minage* (whatever) horrible person in general.

Fell asleep. Woke up with 40 min to go. Had a couple of giggles.

My kids liked it, but that's another topic.

Wait until it comes out on video.

Even though the kids were free, I should have skipped it myself
The number 23 starring Jim Carrey.

I put it off for 4 years and tonight i decided to watch it and it was surprisingly gripping.
Really enjoyed this one too!!

Scream Blacula Scream! Was on this morning.

So, so boring. Conan is like a big-budget Sci-Fi Network movie. No script, no acting, just incredibly dull. I can't even remember what happens in it.

dude ive been trying to watch the conan remake too and its so damn bad aside from the tits theres nothing there worth watching. i keep hoping he will morph into that badass character he was in the game of thrones but the further the movie goes the more you dont see any conan there at all.

hell i wish his character from game of thrones would come in and kill everyone honestly everyone in the film sucks. the costumes suck, the dialogue is horrible and the action is lazy at best. add to the the overuse of cgi blood and it does come off like a sci fi movie but the film quality looks alot like what you see in bbc shows.

i knew it wouldnt be as good as the original but how do you fuck up conan? its easily the worst remake ever.

morgan freeman doing the narration was really weird they should have gotten gary busey then maybe itd have some redeeming qualities.

Yeah, I thought Freeman sounded odd as the narrator as well. I really wish the film started with adult Conan. Everything with Kid Conan is just stale and boring.

Rewatched Thor. Outside of Avengers, Thor is probably my favorite Marvel Studios movie. After all, he is my personal favorite Avenger. I hope the sequel has more Odin and Heimdall, seeing how Hopkins and Elba knocked it out of the ballpark in those roles.
I know i will lose some cool points for this, but the new Katy Perry movie is pretty good. No joke.
I wanna see it. I love movies like that.

Batman Begins - I have probably seen this movie in its entirety but broken into 30 pieces, and out of order, over the last 6 years, but finally sat down and watched it last night. It was good, The Dark Knight was obviously better, but I have a little better understanding of the story now. I would say a solid 6.5/10.

We have recently watched BB and TDK again to get ready for this the last film - I'd have to say its a little higher than a 6.5 though...

I would rate Batman Begins and the Dark Knight around the same range, but more at a 7.5. Nolan put sooo much effort in making us think Batman was hot-stuff, like his actions are soo freakin' important that I got a little sick of the movies. A good Batman story, like a good Law and Order or something, always leaves me sad about the city in general, and I respect Batman for his hard efforts, but Nolan's left me all "oh Batman's badass so I should feel sorry for him if things doesn't go his way."
X-men first class, and it was suprisingly good! My wife and I both enjoyed it, neither one of us were expecting much from it but it was a great movie.
That movie is awesome. A sleeper hit for sure.

This makes no sense at all.
^ wife told me Olivia Munn goes topless in the movie... How did I never hear about that until now?
....my fiance lied and told me it was a chick flick.....dammit.

I was surprised after seeing First Class that it got such high marks. It was incredibly boring and I started to zone out towards the end so I don't really remember much.

Saw Dark Knight Rises last night. I'd say it was an 8/10. I only had a few problems with the movie, and after talking to a group of people when I was coming out of the theater, it seems like I wasn't alone.

- It was hard to understand what Bane was saying at times when there was a lot of action going on.
- For some reason it seemed like Catwoman really wasn't necessary to the movie, they just tacked her on because they wanted her to be in it.
- The movie was too long for no reason. Lots of scenes that didn't add anything to the movie. The ones that stood out the most were at the end when the formula was panning camera + people just standing there + ominous music.

Despite those things, I really liked it.
That movie is awesome. A sleeper hit for sure.
I object to the thought that X-Men was a sleeper hit. However much of a hit it will ever be it's achieved it. Anchorman/MacGruber it is not.
I may be the only person to enjoy batman begins more than the dark knight
You good sir are not. While there are many aspects of TDK I like more than in BB, overall I did like BB more. They're both great movies though and to be fair the skin-colored joker thing really irritates me, because it's a change I don't think was needed to fit into the world he's created.

WHile I abhor L&O you're basically saying you like Batman stories that end up with your feeling being about the city rather than ending up being about Batman. Like the Spawn spin-off comics. I get that.. but I don't see that sort of story working out in a movie. TV sure but in a movie.. closest I can get is Project X where the primary target for the film was not the three friends but the party itself (which is why the sequel is a bad idea)
Law Abiding Citizen, it was a a very good movie. Very thought provoking.
I saw your link to Jingit. Is the pay decent? and at what level do they pay?

The Amazing Spiderman. Got a little bored with going through the origin story again, but overall it was very good. A little darker than the Raimi films which I liked.

The Dark Knight Rises. I loved it. Perfect ending to the trilogy IMO. As a whole these rank up there with my favorite trilogies.

Dark Knight Rises... general non-spoiler comments about what sucked about it:

1. Gunfire. After Inception and TDK and TDKR, I am 100% of the opinion that Nolan should never, ever, direct any movie that requires person A to shoot at persons B, C, and D. Every gunfire sequence he directs looks like some Universal Studios stunt show. Guy waves arm stupidly and squibs pop all over. Grumble.

2. Speeches. Characters walk in, gives a speech, then leave. Conversation be damned, no matter how long person A has been waiting in anticipation of having an audience with person B or C, they say their peace then storm off like it's American Idol and they've just finished singing "My Heart Will Go On." Dumb.

3. Voices. I haven't spent so much energy trying to understand character dialogue since "The Usual Suspects" and Brad Pitt in "Snatch". Batman - "Grumble grumble grumble." Bane - "Voicebox grumble Voicebox grumble." Chick - "French accent. French accent." Hey, Christopher Nolan, when everyone in the world tells you to make your characters speak clearly, they're not just ganging up on you. I felt like the movie was subtitled in Mandarin.

4. General story. Tough to say anything non-spoilery, but for a movie that preaches "there are no coincidences", there sure are a shipload of coincidences. Gotham City must have the stupidest population on the planet.

All that said, it was a good movie, if a little long. Not great, definitely not on the level of the last one (which had its own goofy problems as well, but was generally excellent), but I never felt badly about dropping the cash to see it in IMAX, and the last reel is very good. Save the best for last, I guess.

And for those waiting to flame me, I'm a huge Batman fan from forever ago, and I mean no disrespect... Nolan delivered a very good trilogy, just hard to live up to expectations.
