Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

I'll check back again on either next monday or wensday and see if they really went down or it was just a paticular store thing.

Picked up Virtua Tennis for $12.xx and Shivering Isles for $4.98

Here's an oddity though.

Browsing around the Brentwood, TN Target, I noticed a WoW: BC collector's edition. I knew these were clearanced out, so I went to scan it.. not in the system. No problem, this happened with APF2K8 and the guy said it was 7.48.

Anyway, I take it to some jesus looking fellow (shoulder length hair, beard, etc). He scans it like fifteen times then states that he can't find a price for it, it's been discontinued and he can't sell it to me. What the ? What would've happened if I tried to go to checkout with it? He wouldn't hand it back to me. I'm thinking of filing a complaint, that I was unable to buy a product on their shelves that was for sale. If it wasn't in the system and there was no record of it, I have no doubt that the guy took it for himself and LP was none the wiser. Where would I go to file a complaint?

One of my local Targets had about 4-6 of these on one of the clearance endcaps about a month ago. They were marked and rang up @ $35 or so. That's too rich for my blood.

So I went back about a week ago, they're nowhere to be found. So either A) they did drop them outta system and they got sent to Goodwill or wherever or B) mommies and daddies picked them up for their kids for Christmas. Although, these copies were all marked 'as is', mainly due to the rips in the plastic shrinkwrap.

I was under the assumption these were selling for big $$$ on Ebay, but I checked and they had bottomed out and were barely doing $20-25 when I checked. Ahhh well....hopefully someone got them and they didn't just end up junked.

Probably somewhere on the Target.com site, if you have the guy's name.

Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago. It was post-Christmas, and they had just taken down the final Xmas clearance areas and I found some Christmas CDs that the day before were 75 or 90% off. I was willing to pay a buck or so for them, but they no longer scanned. They didn't come up as full price -- they were Item not found.

Brought them to the front. The guy takes them to the return desk and comes back with a story about how they return CDs to the manufacturer for credit, and so they can sell them to me for full price or not at all. I told him they were Christmas CDs and on clearance yesterday, but he didn't budge.

I honestly did not care enough to press any further and told him they could keep them. I also made sure to remember the guy and never bring him non-scanning stuff again.

I've talked to other employees at the register who will adjust the price on the spot, so I think some employees like this guy just make stuff up.

They had the Tony Hawk Proving Ground Limited Edition (360) for $29.50 (or something like that.) Hadn't seen that one before.

Hang in there guys. It's just a matter of time before they drop! Make sure to hide one or two for good measure.

In that note, I played RG for roughly 6 hours today. The game has a nice mix of previously developed Level 5 games with Dark Cloud dungeon crawling and Jeanne D'Arc item combining. It even has the exact same purple synthesizing toad from Jeanne D'Arc. Really enjoying it thus far.

Sometimes items do go 90% off, but I wouldnt chance it. If I saw a game at 75% off, I would go ahead and buy it. Not only because it might not go to 90% off before salvage, but at 75% off, its more likely the game will be bought by someone who sees the price.

At the same store I got my copy for $12.48 at they still have copies of the game in the display case for $20, not red tagged. So it seems like this is kind of a YMMV situation.

Same here. There was one marked $24 and rang up $24. Then there were a dozen with a replacement UPC sticker that rang up $19.99.

This was at the Sawgrass, FL Super Target. There were 3 more Rogue Galaxies, they only had one copy of the rest. Now if FFIII would drop from $19.98 I would get it.

I've seen THPG LE hovering around the $30 dollar range. It'll most likely drop further in a couple of weeks. NBA Street HC varies in price as I've seen it dip as low as $4.98 to $19.98. However, I've seen a consistent price of $14.98 for the 360 version in the three Targets I've been to in the past week. Haven't spotted a PS3 version in over a month.

In my experience they won't do it with clearance merchandise. Your best hope is to find it at another Target with the game at the lower price and return it on your older receipt.

They are not supposed to do adjustments on clearance prices. However, you could always repurchase at the lower price and return the more expensive one.

Here's your third confirmation: Target won't do this. You have to repurchase at the lower price --- in your case, you'll have to search other Targets.

Here is an unconfirmation.
My target will give me a price adjustment on sales and clearance items.
All I have to do is bring in the receipt and ask for a price adjustment.
(just tell them that the item is on sale this week).

Thanks, but I guess I meant had anyone seen any drops today. I actually bought both games last week (29.50 and 14.98, respectively), and, since I have so bloody many other 360 games, I thought I'd keep em sealed for at least a week to see if they'd drop at all. I stopped at a couple Targets on my way home from work today, and both games were still at the same price, but I was able to grab KOTOR II for 4.98 at one Target, and Virtua Tennis 3 (360) for 12.48 at the other, so it all worked out fine

Well, if you spin it that way, you may be able to get past the process, but I can tell you from experience that 3 different Targets over the course of 3 years have all told me that they can't price-adjust a clearance item. One clerk (just two weeks ago) went out of her way to let me know their policy --- I didn't even ask! #
