Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase
coupon_birthday_toys.gif

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:
And what the hell was that?
Wow or Never was a promo for the Target REDcards (credit/check card). There were 20 different items throughout the store that, if you bought them with a REDcard, you'd be entered in a sweepstakes for a huge prize.

For example, if you bought a $60 box of TOPPS baseball cards, you would be entered into a sweeps for a VIP trip to the '08 World Series. I don't exactly remember what was tied to that Tony Hawk game, though.

Did I get ripped off, should I return & hopefully get a better price? I bought Rogue Galaxy for $20 & Final Fantasy IV for $18 about a week ago. Should they have been lower (RG $10) or does each Target decide on their own prices, would they be lower now? ARGG
Sounds great. Thats how the reduced price guides thread is and its very convenient. I'm not trying to volunteer you for work, but it might be easier on you if you just made one date, then list all the added games below for that date, and so on.
So... you mean every day I make changes to the prices, I copy the game over to that date? That would seem to be too difficult to manage, having to go through all of the dates and remove duplicate entries. I also wouldn't want to leave it in there because I like to keep the OP pretty trim (although it's pretty fat right now because I haven't removed too many games from it)

Absolutely! No, just kidding Sonic. Didn't mean to step on your toes, you are the master of your domain here.

I had just found the Reduced Price guides thread when I posted that, I didnt even think to realize how YMMV the Target clearance games were, it would be obnoxious to have to revise that list all the time.

Thanks for doing what you're doing already, I found Rogue Galaxy and Red Steel thanks to this thread.

ROTSS wasn't recalled nor were there problems, the price was so cheap that Target couldn't pull a profit so they didn't want to sell it at that price. All games should have been re-stickered. They sorta pulled that same shit with me, check back a page or two to find my story on the fucker that wouldn't sell me WoW: BC CE because it "wasn't in the system" even though it was on the shelf

CAG WARNING: Virtua Tennis 3 is also getting re-UPC'ed for 19.99, so get it on clearance while you can.

Haha, no you're not stepping on my toes. If there's a way to improve the list I'll do it. Until I find something else, I'm going to change it to "Last price update: 12-20-07." Something along those lines since it's probably more important to know when the price last dropped rather than when it was originally added (though if anyone disagrees both pieces of information can always be added)

i saw some with the red 12.48 sticker in the glass case. it rang up 19.99 b/c it had the new upc sticker but customer service gave me no problems adjusting it.

Typically, when an item goes on clearance all Target stores will have it marked as such but each individual store decides their own prices. If there are no more copies of Rogue Galaxy or Final Fantasy IV to price-check at your store, you'll probably have to get ahold of the DCPIs and enter them into the price scanner (and that's if your store has the scanner type with the keypad), unless there's an easier way unbeknownst to me.

As a further note, Target won't adjust prices for clearance items. You would have to rebuy the same item and return it under the old receipt, which is a problem if the item in question is gone from the store. If you're lucky, you can convince customer service to let you return and immediately rebuy an item.

Now that is some shady business practices. I am really tempted to call the store manager and go ape shit on the guy for pulling this shit. Wait a minute I always heard that once it reaches 75% and if it's sold by the next price drop, it goes to goodwill or something else. The game has horrible reviews, and other stores have so many copies of it for 30 bucks so it's taking up shelf space. It would be in target's best interest to get rid of the game. The manager (collin) knew I was on to him when I confronted him about how he's trying to sell me a game that's on clearance for a higher price.

So who's fault was it? The pricing team or the electronics team for not pulling it?

Seems that RG is gone from the targets I went to. You guys claim its a great game but even though it was cheap, it will probably end up sitting unplayed on my shelf. Oh well.

The other so so games are gone. My guess is that they became stocking stuffers. PLENTY, and I do mean PLENTY of that dragon ball Z game for the Wii.
Geez my Target's clearance aisles are like old, childesh, PS2 games. The 360 games are "clearanced" at like $30! I might go back after seeing all the replies on this thread though...

Also I second the NHL08 recommendation! Best hockey game I have ever played and definitely worth $60. Any price less is a steal!
sorry, no game will EVER be as good as NHL Hockey (94)!!!! Jeremy Roenick ftw.

No chance :) Seriously, you must be in a really offbeat location to have a Target with that game in stock. My Targets don't even have Xbox games anymore.

My Target had the Halo Triple Pack for $12.48 last week. I took it to the counter then decided not to get it. I kind of regret it now.

you might luck out at sears instead. some sears still have them but at full price.

I picked up the Warhammer 40k expansion and it was 85% off. (I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure it was.)

i called yesterday afternoon to chekc on the prices for some fo the games but they told me the regular prices, does this have to be a upfront at the counter kind of thing ?

What games were you asking for? Most games on clearance have a clearance sticker on them in stores and price-scanning them shows the latest price drop. Pretty simple.

As for original Xbox games, my local Targets still have a handful - but they're not in the glass case - they're usually with all the Platinum Hits titles and miscellaneous other titles.

Returned Rogue Galaxy since it dropped to $9.98 from $19.98 when I purchased it two weeks ago. Cashiers won't price match the drop on clearances so I'll rebuy when it's restickered to the new lower price.

Other than that, nothing new that I saw, except Elder Scrolls IV Shivering Isles was $4.98.

Anybody know if Alien Syndrome (Wii) is worth $12.48? Anybody care? It's the only Wii game clearanced, in-stock at my local store.

I have never played it.
It has a gamerankings score of 51.1%.

Did they have any 360 games?

I am assuming you went to one of the Targets on Randall, which one?

Probably, if you can play it co-op.

The reviews say it's repetitive and ugly, but a decent game. Most bagged on it because it wasn't worth full price, and several reviews said it would be a good bargain bin title, especially if you play it co-op.

I wonder how many people bought the $50 regular version of TH on sale instead of the clearance special edition for $30. In some Targets they were literally right next to each other.

I was wondering the same thing.

I just got back from the other Target in Garner, NC at White Oak Shopping Center and found a lone copy of Rogue Galaxy for $9.98+10% discount. Someone tried to be sneaky and hid it inbetween the shelf and the backing. :D It was stickered 50% but rang up for 75%.

I'm not lucky this week! If anybody could pick me up a copy of DIRT for the 360 please PM me. I can use Paypal; but all of that can be discussed further if you'd like.

Thank you!

Super Target in South Elgin. Last time I checked, the Wii game was in the case, but there were a bunch of 360 games on the endcap shelf near the TV aisle. I don't remember which games, though. I don't have a 360 yet, so I'm don't actively search out the good 360 deals.

ok i just called target and give them the UPC number for mario & luigi partners in time for the ds thats for $3 something i believe after holding for about 2 minutes the employee came back to tell me that it was at $34, could this be that my target does not have the clearance or can they be telling me BS

CAG WARNING: Virtua Tennis 3 is also getting re-UPC'ed for 19.99, so get it on clearance while you can.
well I called Customer Service Relations today and gave them both receipt id's and DPCI's to see what exactly happened and if there was a memo saying that the game would be recalled and taken off the shelf. The guy was pretty cool with me and couldn't find any memo's or postings saying to recall ROTSS. He thinks that the particular store (West Sterling) could have gotten a memo sent to them to pull the item and no other store got it. When asked why the manager wanted to sell me the game at the higher price (20 dollars) vs the clearance price(2.54), he couldn't tell me why they did that.

When asked if the game is defective (I am not daring to try this shitty game anyways), can I return it and exchange it despite the fact the DPCI's are different for exact same game on the same platform. He said it shouldn't be a problem, but I can call customer relations on their red hotline phones in the store and they will take care of it.

Very interesting isn't it? Guess that deal was just too good to be true.
...a bunch of pc games. Only notable ones were Rome total War for 9.99 (which I picked up) and Lost Planet for 19.99 (which I passed cause I'm holding out for the 360 edition).
Same here. Picked up Rome:Total War Gold Edition for $9.98 a couple of nights ago (Target # 1, Roseville, MN).

Aren't you worried someone else will grab it?

Snagged the last PS3 NBA 2K7 for $9.98 and a DOA X2 360 for $7.48. Is DOA even worth $7.48? I've never played it or really know much about it but for that price I figured what the hell.

Also snagged one of those Coleco Sonic handhelds for $7.48. They had a TON of those on the endcaps.

What are DCPIs? The last time I was at Target I asked if they had price scanners and the guy said yes and he pulled one out of his pants and scanned it, but I don't know if they have customer scanners. Shit I don't know what to do :bomb: , I guess I can try return & rebuy? Will they have lowered the price if they're OOS?

Oh dear lord...:applause:

Just kiddin J7, couldn't resist. The DCPI is targets inventory number (9 digits I think). Most targets all have price scanners on the floor; they are affixed to the pole structure supports in random locations in the store. However, I know in my target, there aren't any scanners with the numbers you can punch in. The trick is finding these scanners vs mine that you can only scan.

You can find most dcpi's on targets website, however not for clearanced merchandise. Best bet in that case is Amazon.

Indeed. It is Target policy that all price scanners must be attached to some sort of pole structure.

I admit, I was surprised to see how much larger the scanner was than a wii.

Mouse Trap/Operation/Simon (GBA) is now $3.74. The one I found tonight was the only copy I have seen at any of the stores in my area since it went on clearance.

Sorry I had to jump on the bandwagon.

Oh and I found Final Fantasy for the GBA for $7.48 the other day, I think I'll pick it up but since I dont have my DS anymore I could just save the game if I ever rebuy a DS.
